  2. Ah nice. Thanks for the clarification. I missed that part.
  3. This newest change only applies to the $5/month Standby plan. The $50 and $165 plans still allow roaming at speeds under 100 MPH (down from speeds up to 450 MPH, which has angered private aviation. Now there are new $350/month or $1000/month aviation plans.)
  4. It depends on your plan. Starlink recently changed its roaming plans, now you can't use it while in motion. I love Starlink, but when will their plans stabilize? They still change them every six months.

  6. If you have lithium batteries (LiFePO4), the usual recommendation for winter storage is a bit different from lead-acid batteries. Most lithium battery manufacturers suggest storing them at about 40–60% state of charge rather than keeping them fully charged all winter. A common approach is: • Charge the batteries to around 50–60% • Turn off the main battery disconnect (or disconnect the batteries) • Avoid leaving them on a continuous 120V charger unless the charger has a proper lithium storage/float mode Lithium batteries have very low self-discharge, so they can usually sit for several months without any problem. The main thing is to prevent parasitic loads from slowly draining them. Also, if temperatures get very cold, it's best not to charge lithium batteries below freezing unless the battery has a built-in heating system. Many RV owners simply disconnect the batteries and check the charge level once or twice during the winter.
  7. FOR SURE ON THE TOUR! It is THE best way to understand "what's under the sheets". And that of course can be a lot of fun, and standing there with the upper three hull layers you get a chance to ask some really good questions! GJ
  8. Was it done at Alcan or DIY? I'm thinking of bringing to Alcan a pre-cut section of 1/2" CPV, and some zipties and a tube of clear silicone to seal it up. And a clear sketch of where "on the back of the front axle" is. 🙂 For previous Alcaners, were they amenable to such an arrangement if they knew about it ahead? Any better ideas would be appreciated. Thanks GJ

  10. Thanks @jd1923 for the links. I've been wanting to order one of these privacy screens for a while. I have a Fiamma F45S (the best), so I ordered the 14',3" screen, but the 9 foot version for more space. We'll see how it goes. It was on sale and I used my Amazon points, so bam, only $50. 11. I haven't examined these shades in this regard. However, I believe this would be a good job for a 3-D printer. A glued or snap-on shade could be drawn in free CAD software, such as Tinkercad. The drawing can be saved as an STL file (for 3D printer) and shared in any of the free design sites such as Thingiverse where anyone can download it. If you don't know someone with a 3D printer, there are plenty of local and on-line services that would print them for a small fee. Shades could be printed in any of the numerous available colors and materials. Basic PLA (plant based plastic) or ABS would be perfect. You could make it more stylish than a pipe fitting, and refine the shade thickness to diffuse the light without glare. This would require experimentation to get it right. I'm not overly keen on the idea, but if you want to sketch something up to get started, I'd be willing to collaborate with you to design a decent shade. I have plenty of white PLA and white ABS on hand for prototypes. Cheers! Geoff

  13. @molin Welcome to the fourm! As @topgun2 stated Oliver goes the extra mile to provide a mountain of information and vids to owners and prospective owners. I think you would be hard pressed to find any other TT company that provides this wealth of information. Don’t forget that Oliver also has an Oliver Travel Trailer FB forum which has a lot of daily activity regarding Oliver TT. There is also a preowned Oliver FB page as well where great deals can be found. If you can and time allows, consider a tour of the Oliver production plant in Hohenwald, Tennessee. If you have questions ask away!
  14. Molin - Welcome to the Forum! Besides reading through the posts by fellow members, you can also go to the Oliver University (left click on "Home" at the top of this page, then left click on "resources" and the left click on "Oliver University". As you read, if there is something that doesn't make sense drop a question here. Also, at some point you may wish to call the Oliver Sales Staff. Unlike most other companies that you have probably dealt with, the Oliver Staff will not pressure or "bug" you. Finally, you might also want to ask the Oliver Sales Staff to put you in touch with a current Oliver owner who is willing to give you a tour of their Ollie. While Olivers are not suited for everyone, they are certainly a great canvas that can be tailored to many different styles of camping/RVing. Bill
  15. Hi everyone, I just joined the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I’ve been interested in travel trailers and RV systems for a while and recently started learning more about the technical side of things, especially electrical setups, batteries, and solar systems. I don’t own an Oliver yet, but I’ve been researching different trailer options and the Oliver models caught my attention because of their fiberglass construction and overall build quality. I’m also really interested in how people are setting up lithium batteries, solar charging, and energy management for off-grid camping. There seems to be a lot of great knowledge in this community, so I’m looking forward to learning from everyone here. Thanks for having me and I’m excited to be part of the forum.
  16. The female side is 1/4 tapered. This allows reusing the straight adapter that was originally on the regulator. These adapter fittings have a check valve built in which needs to be included in the assembly. 👍
  17. You could try Gorilla Clear Grip. It’s a clear, flexible, fast drying adhesive, nothing like original Gorilla Glue, or RTV silicone. It works like a contact cement. You put a thin layer on both surfaces, let dry for a few minutes, then stick it on. No need to clamp or hold it for more than a few seconds. I buy it at Home Depot, use it around the house for special projects. .https://gorillatough.com/product/gorilla-clear-grip
  18. I think it was placed inside the bumper to keep it out of harms way. My hoses aren't in the way. I know of at least 2-3 owners that caught road debris and ripped the front quick connect off. One person had their propane on and emptied their tank. Oliver could place a round port and mount it inside the propane housing.

  20. Each shade weighs about 3 oz. and there is over 3 square inches of total contact area, 1/2" around the perimeter, 4 1/2" diameter. I was hoping for something I could apply and press on without a support stand and there is no way to use a clamp. Rubber cement can drip and get messy and would need to be held in place for some time to get tacky. But thanks for helping! VHB tape would be overkill and wasteful to trim around the circular shades. Where are all you guys who glue on mounting boards for your electronics? There must be a good product for this!
  21. Nice mod. A question about the elbows: You indicate they are 'street', are these 1/4" female NPT or 1/4" inverted flare on the input (pigtail) side? Thanks Tim
  22. When I replaced my factory D35 axles with D52's last year, the brake wiring was an option. Based on other OTTO experience’s repairing the brake wiring inside the axles, I chose pigtails for each hub and used hose clamps to attach PVC conduit to the axle and ran the wiring through the conduit. Was that the right thing to do? Time will tell! Mossey
  23. With lithium batteries and adequate solar, you should be able to last essentially for years.
  24. Jolli Olli is hiding in the coastal fog at Galveston Island SP. 4'+/- Male Western Diamondback along the boardwalk to the beach. A bit too close for comfort.
  25. Unfortunately the awnings you describe are found on large trailers, Class A Motor Coaches and 5th Wheels. Those have large exposed frames and arms and wouldn't work on an Oliver. So with that said the awning for small trailers aren't designed to be out in winds or rain. They are designed for providing shade. You would be better off getting a stand alone canopy with option for sides, or something like the picture. I think it would be a big mistake to remove your Girard awning. The Girard is a top of the line awning, and resale value would be lost
  26. Chris, spot on with your response. We don't regret getting the regular toilet, but your comments may have given us a different perspective 😊
  27. We enjoyed our stay at Clear Spring, but we like to stay clear of I-30 and I-40. We usually head to Texas down through TN, MS, LA, into Texas, spending some time on the Natchez Trace Parkway.
  28. You might want to take a look here too. I have seen some really good deals on preowned late model Olivers that could save you a substantial amount of money. This link may or may not work depending on whether or not you have a FB account. https://www.facebook.com/groups/OliverforSale
