  2. 🎉 Introducing: Oliversary Stories! We've just added a brand-new section to the forum, and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you. Oliversary Stories is a dedicated space for celebrating the adventures of Oliver owners — real journeys, favorite destinations, and the memories that make life on the road so special. Whether it's a cross-country haul, a hidden gem campsite, or a trip that changed everything, these are the stories that remind us why we love this community. Here's how it works: our team will reach out to owners to gather highlights and share them here, so every story you read comes straight from someone in the Oliver family. This forum has always been built on the experiences of real owners, and Oliversary Stories is our way of putting those experiences front and center. We can't wait to start sharing — and we have a feeling you'll find plenty of inspiration for your next adventure. Interested in sharing your story? We'd love to hear from you! Reach out to us at media@olivertraveltrailers.com and let's make your adventure part of the Oliver family story. Stay tuned. More stories are coming. 🛖✨ https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/37-oliversary-stories/

  5. Do you recall the wire size Dexter used internally on your new D52 axles? 12 AWG?
  6. Greetings to the two Olivers we saw on i-95 South today, one near Savannah, one near the Florida Georgia line.
  7. Maybe? Love our Tesla stock! I bought a bunch when the paid-protester crazies were fire-bombing the dealerships and the stock dropped down to near $200. I’ve never been one for sound investing, yet we sure won on this one, monies doubled! BTW, after our last trip, I forgot to pause our account, from the $50 to the $5 standby plan. Got the email re monthly renewal charges, but it was too late to change plans (even though it was the day before the new billing month). I entered a CS ticket. It took 3 days and after a second request, then Starlink CS wrote back. They wrote the next month is still live on the $50 plan, but they apologized for the inconvenience and put a $50 credit in our account for future charges. In our family, we Love Elon, his genius and ALL of his great companies!!! 😎

  9. @topgun2 Yes, you sent me the files. I just can't find anyone to make one plaque at a reasonable price. Hopefully one of the other plaque-less owners has found someone. Tony
  10. I’ve always wondered if Starlink pricing is tied to the Tesla stock price. Chris and Cherie, the Technomadia/Mobile Internet Resource Center folks moved from a Tab trailer to an Oliver LE in 2008 and sold it in 2011. Mossey
  11. Tony - Sorry but I simply do not remember, but, did you send me a PM asking me for the digital information I received from Matt Duncan? Bill
  12. Reviving an old thread. Has anyone found a vendor of metal business cards that can produce the hull number plaques? I'm looking for a business card plaque as close to original as I can find. After several inquires, I've found one Etsy vendor who can make a not very close to original looking plaque. Has anyone had more success? Thanks, Tony
  13. A local shop that Dexter recommended handled the installation for $400. The axles were $883 each with 2200 pound springs and EZ Lube hubs and I supplied new lug nuts. Mossey
  14. Last week
  15. MANY of us have upgraded our Olivers in off-grid capabilities. I'm one of two here with 900 Ah Epoch LiFePO4 batteries (many have 400-600 Ah) and I'm also one of two who carry an extra 35-gal of fresh water in the tow vehicle. Off-grid is not only about battery SOC but fresh and waste water is most important! Also one of a few who upgraded manual water valves to motorized ball valves (sure helps in using the extra water). Suspension upgrades may also be important to you. Some add a solar suitcase and DC-2-DC charging is the most efficient means to recharging when you move around a lot! 😎 Search for keywords Epoch, LiTime, Renogy, Victron, MP2, DC-2-DC, etc. or just browse through the Ollie Modifications section!
  16. Here’s the latest as of this week. Probably gonna change any day again… BTW, these guys are a wealth of information, and owned an Oliver several years ago.
  17. I rewired my D35 due to intermittent brake disconnects. I know of one other owner who did the same (and first told me of the solution). When I pulled the wires there were several spots where the insulation was gone. There was about 3 or 4 feet of excess wire and my theory is that it was bunched up causing it to rub inside the axle. Once a new wire was zip tied to the outside of the axle my intermittent disconnect disappeared. It’s obviously not a common problem and I wouldn’t change anything or rerun the wires if there were no issues. I’ve now got the D52 axles and they are wired however the factory wired them. Mike
  18. Just wire it as designed. I'm surprised to see issues with the OEM wiring internal to the axles. How many have rewired due to actual failure of the wiring vs. worry. When I removed our 10-year-old D35 axles there was nothing wrong with the internal brake wiring. I have a old dual axle flat bed trailer that we used for hauling dirt bikes and our SxS. I restored it 8 years ago, all 100% new wiring and I added brakes on one axle since it did not have brakes. I ran the wire across inside the axle as designed. Anything exterior, especially something "wire-tied" can be easily torn of from road debris! If my brand new D52 axles ever get shorted brake wiring, which is an extremely low likelihood, I will run new wire right down the axle where it belongs. Just my opinion. 😎
  19. Ah nice. Thanks for the clarification. I missed that part.
  20. This newest change only applies to the $5/month Standby plan. The $50 and $165 plans still allow roaming at speeds under 100 MPH (down from speeds up to 450 MPH, which has angered private aviation. Now there are new $350/month or $1000/month aviation plans.)
  21. It depends on your plan. Starlink recently changed its roaming plans, now you can't use it while in motion. I love Starlink, but when will their plans stabilize? They still change them every six months.
  22. Happy 4th year anniversary to John and his Oliver "Jolli Olli"! 🥳 On 2025 they traveled for 107 days, from the Great Lakes to the Texas and Florida Gulf Coasts, and from the Atlantic to the Pacific Northwest. In 2026 we will complete the lower 48 with 5 East Coast states. We wish you many more years of traveling and adventures on the road 🌟 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CEeLyl3yog
  23. If you have lithium batteries (LiFePO4), the usual recommendation for winter storage is a bit different from lead-acid batteries. Most lithium battery manufacturers suggest storing them at about 40–60% state of charge rather than keeping them fully charged all winter. A common approach is: • Charge the batteries to around 50–60% • Turn off the main battery disconnect (or disconnect the batteries) • Avoid leaving them on a continuous 120V charger unless the charger has a proper lithium storage/float mode Lithium batteries have very low self-discharge, so they can usually sit for several months without any problem. The main thing is to prevent parasitic loads from slowly draining them. Also, if temperatures get very cold, it's best not to charge lithium batteries below freezing unless the battery has a built-in heating system. Many RV owners simply disconnect the batteries and check the charge level once or twice during the winter.
  24. FOR SURE ON THE TOUR! It is THE best way to understand "what's under the sheets". And that of course can be a lot of fun, and standing there with the upper three hull layers you get a chance to ask some really good questions! GJ
  25. Was it done at Alcan or DIY? I'm thinking of bringing to Alcan a pre-cut section of 1/2" CPV, and some zipties and a tube of clear silicone to seal it up. And a clear sketch of where "on the back of the front axle" is. 🙂 For previous Alcaners, were they amenable to such an arrangement if they knew about it ahead? Any better ideas would be appreciated. Thanks GJ
  26. Thanks @jd1923 for the links. I've been wanting to order one of these privacy screens for a while. I have a Fiamma F45S (the best), so I ordered the 14',3" screen, but the 9 foot version for more space. We'll see how it goes. It was on sale and I used my Amazon points, so bam, only $50. 27. I haven't examined these shades in this regard. However, I believe this would be a good job for a 3-D printer. A glued or snap-on shade could be drawn in free CAD software, such as Tinkercad. The drawing can be saved as an STL file (for 3D printer) and shared in any of the free design sites such as Thingiverse where anyone can download it. If you don't know someone with a 3D printer, there are plenty of local and on-line services that would print them for a small fee. Shades could be printed in any of the numerous available colors and materials. Basic PLA (plant based plastic) or ABS would be perfect. You could make it more stylish than a pipe fitting, and refine the shade thickness to diffuse the light without glare. This would require experimentation to get it right. I'm not overly keen on the idea, but if you want to sketch something up to get started, I'd be willing to collaborate with you to design a decent shade. I have plenty of white PLA and white ABS on hand for prototypes. Cheers! Geoff
