  1. Personally, I've had a few emergencies in places where the major language isn't English, Spanish, or other languages I have studied. Like our blowout in French speaking rural Quebec. We're getting ready for a long trip, and most of our friends traveling with us only speak English. I was so happy to find that Google translate now works offline. I tested it in a couple languages that I read, and it's decent. I'm helping all our friends traveling with us download it, free, and set their phones up to use it. Without data or wifi. Speech to text, or text to text.. Also, I can hold my android phone over a document, and I see an immediate approximate translation. This can be a huge help, when you have no wifi, and don't know the local language. If you are thinking about traveling to French speaking provinces, or Mexico, and don't speak the language I would definitely look at it. And, did I mention, it's a free app? Sherry

  2. http://www.fiveina5th.com/landing/top-4-tpms-systems-comparison/ I caution that anybody planning to drive in inclement weather or on harsh paved or unpaved conditions be sure to pick a system with sealed transmitters (pressure sensors) to avoid water entry and corrosion. I plan to order this one - it is highly regarded in the offroad community (Australia) - read the last link for a though "harsh environment" review in the Outback. Plan on replacing all the sensors every five years. Yes, that will be expensive. Consider it to be Extended Road Hazard Insurance. https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Doran-360RV-Tire-Pressure-Monitor-4-Sensor-p/360rv4.htm https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Doran-360-RV-Wireless-Tire-Pressure-Sensor-p/3602.htm https://www.exploroz.com/Members/33714.000/5/2014/Tyre_Pressure_Monitor___Doran___360__Review_.aspx Notice that you can get Doran kits with up to 14 sensors, so you can retrofit an older TV that does not have a factory TPMS. I would not bother adding a fifth sensor for the trailer or TV spare. It will not suddenly fail, and you can just check it every month or two with a good gauge to make sure it has not leaked. You do still need to check your trailer and TV tires with a gauge periodically. The sensor readings are not that accurate. John Davies Spokane WA

  3. We also use the TST system from plugitright.com. Shows pressure and temperature. Great peace of mind. Mike

  4. Well yea, at first people ask you questions on your YouTube videos and then you pass it on as others will answer those questions for you. I really think that you did a great job on your movies Buzzy :) If you leave them on as unlisted instead of private and turn off your channel notifications, your movies will take care of themselves and others will answer those questions for you. They will still be listed in the playlist but they won't bother you. I answer questions on mine if they are good questions but if the answers are already in the comments, then the people need to do their own work. Some people want you to do it all and those I just ignore myself. Put, "Read the Comments for more info" at the top of that section and the questions drop by around 90%. Another thing that you can do is to simply disable the comments, and that ends that problem while letting the movies be seen. Basically right now, your movies are the face of Oliver and there is nothing wrong with that. Soon I will join you with my movies also. I made a few mods today with the drill and angle grinder. The movies here will start piling up quick, once we get a good idea of what we have here :) Like you, I love helping others and making good informative videos like you have needs to be passed on. Oliver's movies will be by the manufacturer and that's OK, but movies by owners telling the truth and sharing their knowledge really helps everyone a lot more. PM me if you would like me to help in any way Reed & Karen Lukens

  5. buzzyBuzzy, please enjoy your time with your family, both two- and four-legged. I'll miss your regular contributions, but of course will look forward to the occasional appearance. Hopefully those won't be too rare. Keep in touch!

  6. We've seen many RV's with a lot of damage done when not realizing that they had a blown tire early enough. We've owned two different brands of monitors. The first brand was expensive junk. We now have the TST Truck System Technologies model # TM - 507 SE. We also needed the repeater that the company sales. We have used it for many miles and are very satisfied with it. You might want to call their office in Atlanta and talk to them before deciding on which unit to buy and why. That's what we did and they were very helpful. This is the unit that they suggested for 24 foot Oliver Legacy Elite 2. Our Chevy truck came with monitoring system already installed so we just needed this for the four tires on the trailer. Just wanted to let you know what we use. Hap

  7. [attachment file=45482] Just in time for Valentine's Day [attachment file=45483] [attachment file=45483] [attachment file=45484] [attachment file=IMG_20170214_204323.jpg] [attachment file=45484] Then I took this photo of the Truma AquaGo inlet, outlet and recirculation line. It was 22° last night for most of the night and Olli past the 4 season test; full of water. The Suburban heater by itself couldn't keep up but it held the temp at 65° by itself, which was great for sleeping.

  8. In 2011, in rural Quebec, after picking up a bolt in a truck tire ( truck pressure monitor system alerted us to the problem before we lost the tire and rim), and dealing with the issue in my very limited French, we decided it would be a good idea to install a Tpms for the trailer tires as well. We chose the early TST system. Best ratings then. We bought three of the monitors, to always have a spare. As we were replacing our 40k tires anyway, we got the metal valves. The older style monitors do not have a user replaceable battery, but have a great seal. Last summer, I had to send one in for replacement, five years later. $20 or 30 plus shipping got us a rebuilt tire mounted monitor, plus they reprogrammed the display unit, as well. Nice people, great customer service, and quick turnaround. I give them 5 stars plus, from my experience. Sherry

  9. Me too. We just have a few trips with it, but the system does give a lot of piece of mind on the road and works very well. We got the EEZ system: http://eezrvproduct.com/t/tire-pressure-and-temperature-monitoring-systems-tpms-3 We got the sealed sensors and not the flow through type, for the reasons JohnD mentioned. I would also recommend replacing the rubber valve stems with rigid metal ones. I popped off both tires and took them to our local tire place where they swapped the stems out and rebalanced the tires. Maybe Oliver uses metal valve stems now, but am not sure. A bit of an extra expense but glad we did it. Dave

  10. I purchased a Tireminder 66 TPMS with four sensors and the booster. Also I am changing the valve steams on the trailer to the high pressure metal type and having the tires rebalanced before we head out in the spring. Tireminder said you can use the rubber valve steams but highly recommends you upgrade to the metal valve steams. The booster will be installed in the propane tank location, easy access to the 12 VDC needed to power the signal booster. Our TV has a factory TPMS installed.

  11. Such great info folks... I really appreciate the comments. I've never owned a travel trailer and so excuse my many questions that arise.

  12. We have been camping this week in Joshua Tree NP and there are no cell towers to be seen! Now that we're back in civilization I'm catching up on the goings on here.... As the originator of this thread, here are my thoughts. The streaking is an annoyance and not something I'm worked up over. I was curious if it was just me or if there were others. I did contact Jason about it and he said they are working it. Good enough for me. I will be working my own solution in the mean time as soon as we get home. There are some good ideas in this thread. We showed our trailer multiple times last week in Quartzsite. A quick wipe got rid of the streaks. I don't assume that the folks at OTT read all the post on this forum. As was pointed out, this is mainly for owners and guests wanting to learn and explore. I've had other trailer issues that I went directly to Tommy and Jason with via email, text and phone calls and always got good results. OTT customer service is top notch. Mike

  13. Hi Explorer7, I sure do understand your wanting to drop over the horizon to simply enjoy your Ollie in peace. I used to have a personal website filled with motorcycle articles, and after a few years I was getting overwhelmed with unwanted attention and questions. It gets old REALLY fast. So last Fall I let my domain name quietly expire and I too am now Anonymous, at least in terms of people wanting stuff from me over the Internet. I hope you will pass on to your close friend Buzzy that he and his dog are always welcome at my campfire or at my home. Keep this in mind as you wander out West. Maybe we could meet up during the Great Eclipse. I hope you will be out here, and will let us know where we might find you. I have really enjoyed talking with you here, we will all miss you! PLEASE do not totally abandon this place. Pop in every now and then to say hello. Happy trails. John Davies Spokane WA

  14. He took down his videos from his YouTube channel and made them private also. So... It looks like he's serious about not being here and he was driven away by something... We love you Buzzy :) Come back soon Reed & Karen

  15. I've used a monitoring system on my single axle Elite for about 6 years and it gives me a good sense of awareness on The Wonder Egg's tires. Great peace of mind with only one tire on each side. Be sure to have your tires rebalanced with the TPMS on.

  16. The iPhone version looks really nice - I like that I wouldn't have to install a separate monitor, and the separate signal booster is also a plus. If you end up getting one yourself, please post your experience.

  17. I wanted to let everyone know that I have posted in the Technical Service Bulletins area in regards to the black streaks issue. I will be posting in this new section as I become aware of any new issues and updating as I get new information. I would also like to thank all of our customers for helping me with new issues as they arise and would like to continue getting feedback from everyone.

  18. Issue: Black streaks running down side of camper due to porch light gaskets. Models Impacted: 2016 - 2017 Models Information: At this time the manufacturer of the porch lights has no intentions of replacing and/or designing a different gasket to resolve this issue. Oliver is researching and testing some different gasket materials to find a long term solution for our customers. We are aware of some different methods being used by our customers to resolve this issue, ie: Murphy's Oil and DAP silicone. Resolution: Currently in Research & Testing *This thread will be updated as new information becomes available.

  19. I read somewhere that a few have been sold, but I don't know anything concrete. Maybe they are among the owners that are either ignorant of this forum or just choose to not participate. I won't be able to look at mine for another 3 months. It sure would be nice if Oliver could post a couple of pictures and a brief description of the installation. EDIT. Found the current draw: 1.7 amps at 12 VDC. That is a lot higher than I expected. The airflow direction is reversable. John Davies Spokane WA
