  1. After several dr appointments and other things life throws at you I must say it sure feels great being in the Oliver again. We Are in New Orleans and the heat and humidity are intense. I must say the Ollie A/C sure does one awesome job keeping us comfortable. We even got our first shower last night and I was pleasantly surprised how great it was. I'm also happy with the drivers side awning we had put in. The nice thing about that is you can open it enough just to block the sun from shinning in the windows. I'm at a Naval base with full hook ups so I can get a better understands of my tank readings. Overall I must say I'm impressed with our Ollie!

  2. I have the black cabinet doors. At the time, white and frosted were not available. Another way of thinking about your cabinet doors, is to consider how your selection will work with your other design choices such as, fabrics, countertops and floor options. The attached video may be of some help. Buzzy

  4. We chose the frosted glass look because we did not want to see ourselves everytime we got up in the Oliver through all the mirrored cabinets. Also the constant cleaning of the fingerprints from the mirrored cabinets. We can see a bit of what is inside of the cabinets but not much at all but do not think they look cheap or tacky. We also like the ambient light when the cabinet lights are turned on. In all things, it is a choice that each person feels good about and likes because all likes are not the same. Because we are full- timing in our Oliver, the cabinets are full.

  5. Another plug for the Andersens - When it comes time to leave you can either simply drive off these ramps (slowly) or you can reverse your original direction. Assuming that you use a ramp for each of the two wheels you will have one ramp between the two wheels both starting and when you leave. It is simple to retrieve these because either one of the ramps fits easily between the two wheels. Since they come with their own chocks you can eliminate one of your two sets of chocks which frees up a bit of space for the Andersens. For situations where you might need height greater than the maximum 4 inches of the Andersens, you can use either "legos" type levelers or carry a couple of 2x6's. Either way - pick a method (probably the wood 2x6's is the least expensive) and experiment. You'll soon discover what works best for you. Bill

  6. Andersen levelers. Work great. photo at Grand Canyon on a very uneven site but we were perfectly level. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=andersen+levelers

  7. Hi Reed, yes this is it: ..... https://www.amazon.com/Blaylock-American-Metal-EZ-100-Wheel/dp/B000R5PMWE It's certainly big and sturdy. It is cast aluminum with a shiny chrome plating. For parking long term it will hold up, especially if there is an uneven surface or rocks. I used it one night and the rest of the time it has been stored awkwardly in the doghouse behind the propane bottles. It really is intended for bigger trailers, I think. Check your Private Messages. 8. SupersizeLIFE, Yes, I chose the Dakota fiber-granite countertops. For me, the various interior décor options, are a great feature in an Oliver travel trailer. I tend to be affected by color and color combinations. My preference are various shades of gray. When you own a big sloppy dog, the color choice of gray can be a blessing. Buzzy

  9. Thanks, Buzzy. I love your interior. Those circles on the pantry door are great and really tie all the black components together. Are your counter tops the Dakota (black)? Thanks for the video and the info.

  10. Great timing! On our way home from Michigan, using a new route & needed a place to stop for a few hours sleep. Checked out 'RV Parky' and it quickly took us to a Walmart Supercenter. Thanks! Clair & Kathy

  11. I have to say that there are advantages to every one of the choices and we went back and forth, especially between black and frosted. some people have done mirrored only on the end cabinet which seems to be a decent tradeoff between making the space seem bigger and not feeling like you're in a hall of mirrors. Adding the mirrored cabinet in the bathroom seems like a wise move as well.

  12. Bill, Like yourself, my gaskets did not start bleeding until 6 month after I got home with Ollie. They were bleeding whenever they got wet. A real mess! This past April I applied Captain Tolley's. No more bleeding, even after many rainstorms. It was easy to apply as well. Highly recommend. Buzzy

  13. Ours are black. You could stare at the sun with them with NO light getting through. They only show fingerprints "a little" according to Tali. Personally, I've never noticed. We chose black because that is what we had in our first Outlaw Oliver and it compliments the black front of the refrigerator and our microwave.

  14. This is how we do it, fingerprints are not much of an issue. Same here on both - makes it seem a bit more open and provides just the right amount of light when it's dark. As far as looking at yourself all the time it really isn't the case unless you are deliberately trying to check out your good looks.

  15. I modified the bumper bolt-on spare-tire carrier on a Casita 17 to accept 3 pieces of gal antenna tubinh. I topped this with the home version of their Sensor 3 with their wingman accessories. I use quick connects from radio shack. use signal amplifier if connecting antenna. No amp. On the oliver, I use a Sat disk tripod, 3 pieces of gal. tubing. Has not blom tv yet

  16. Good work, Larry. Always better if you can repair something rather than just replace it.

  17. We have the mirrored finish and have no complaints with it. I also leave the cabinet lights on sometimes at night and we get light from around the perimeter of the doors. Just a bit of cabin light that helps us navigate at night without being too much. I've never noticed any excessive reflection from the mirrors. The mirrors make the trailer feel a bit bigger inside and they break up the white walls and ceiling.

  18. I carry several 2' lengths of 2X6 in the bed of the truck. They work well for quick leveling. We recently bought some of the yellow Camco legos and have started using them, especially if we're going to be stationary for a while. I still carry the 2X6's because they can come in handy for other tasks. Mike

  19. To my knowledge the current gaskets have not been changed. The "problem" with the bleeding gaskets didn't appear on my Oliver until 6 to 9 months after delivery. At the Oliver Owner's Rally this past May, Oliver gave everyone in attendance a tube of clear Dow Aquarium sealant to be used on these gaskets to stop the bleeding. Basically this is a silicone sealant and I was hesitant to use it because I had read that one should never use silicone on a fiberglass trailer. In any case - I finally did use it (very lightly and carefully to not use anymore than necessary to cover just the exposed black gaskets). It has now been approximately 6 weeks and the gaskets have not bled. So, it appears that it "cured" the problem. How long will it last before it is necessary to re-apply? Don't know. If I was to do it again, I think that I'd try the Captain Tolley's - for no reason other than it appears to also work to cure the problem and I don't think that it is silicone. Bill

  20. This is quick and easy to use and I hate mine with a passion. I'm going to sell it. You just set it in front of the low front tire and drive forward. But it is huge and sharp and horrible to store. I would rather carry a bunch of 2x6x6 and/ or 4x6x6 wood blocks and stack them as needed under the jacks. They transport MUCH more efficiently and aren't heavy. The Anderson version of this is plastic and not as heavy, but it is still an extremely inefficient shape to carry around all the time. You can buy a single piece of lumber at Home Depot and cut it into everything you need. Cutting a 2 inch one is easy, cutting a 4 inch thick one takes more time and effort since a standard circular saw won't do it in a single cut. John Davies Spokane WA

  21. Yvonne & Doug, We started using a 2"X6" 5' long plank to pull up or backup on with both Ollie tires on the low side, then chock, and use jacks to stabilize on blocks. Only needed one plank so far. Have two 2"X6" 5' long planks for sites far from level. Have a two level chock to drive up on and level our previous single axle trailer. Keep this chock for transitioning on and off of two stacked planks to reduce plank movement.

  22. We have not had any streaks from our gaskets and we have seen lots of rain since our end of April pickup date.

  24. Today, we're in Texas at Little House Customs getting a few mods. They're putting on the stainless steel refrigerator hinge & pin for the door, and Larry's installing an awning over the dinette. More pics to come... [attachment file=48220] [attachment file=48223]
