1. Greetings Campers, I would like to extend a hearty “THANK YOU“ to Foy Sperring the food master, Matt Duncan, the PR & Advertising master at Oliver, to all our volunteers and especially, Scott Oliver, President, Oliver Travel Trailers who without his sponsorship of the 2018 Oliver Travel Trailer Owner’s Rally, it would not have been possible. Success begets success. Everyone wants to know when the 2019 Oliver Travel Trailer Owners Rally will occur. Although we have reached agreement with Lake Guntersville State Park on the date, we are finalizing agreement on registration details for next year’s rally. For the 2018 rally, we encountered significant problems and confusion when registering for both Oliver Travel Trailers and Lake Guntersville State Park. For 2019, we want to have a single point of registration, for collection of attendee fees and campground reservations. Until we have the process worked out, we cannot release the exact date. For planning purposes, the rally will occur in May 2019 at Lake Guntersville State Park, Guntersville, Alabama. We will announce the final dates as soon as we have the registration process and a budget completed. The last night of the rally, I made an appeal for assistance in planning and organizing the 2019 rally. This appeal still stands. I can be reached at coy.gayle8115@yahoo.com Please contact me if you would like to be a part of the planning, organizing and executing the 2019 Oliver Travel Trailer Owner’s Rally. Our priority for assistance now is for someone who can assist in accounting. As we plan for next year’s rally, we will incur expenses that will need to be paid. We will need to develop a budget for the rally. Please contact me directly if interested. Most, if not all work can be done via Internet and telephone. We will need to develop a budget before we set the fee structure and this has to be done before we release the date of the rally. I want the income and expense of the rally to be done with transparency and integrity so I need assistance with the budget and accounting of funds. To move the rally from a good rally (2018) to a great rally (2019), I would like to have committees of volunteers. Below is the ideal structure for planning, organizing and executing the next rally. Please give consideration to being a part of the 2019 rally and contact me soonest if interested. 2. Perhaps I can add some clarity to the questions regarding rally attendees being relocated away from their requested sites. I personally visited Lake Guntersville State Park recently. I contacted the park superintendent and we discussed the relocation of 11 attendees. I also communicated with the Director of Parks and Recreation with the State of Alabama. The oldest and first section of the park has some serious electrical issues that significantly impact several campsites. Several of the sites are currently unusable, not available for camping. A contractor has been secured and construction has been scheduled. The construction is scheduled to begin in the near future and be completed prior to our rally. If the construction does occur and the repair is complete, the campers will be camping in their original reservation site. However, if “ Mother Nature” does not cooperate and the park has continuous rain, the park will have an alternative site for each camper impacted by the construction. We are not the only group that has a rally at Lake Guntersville State Park. However, I feel that the park staff is trying their best to support our rally. If the relocation is causing you difficulty, please PM me and I will intervene on your behalf. The construction will occur as scheduled but hopefully it will be completed by the time our rally occurs. I apologize if this causes you difficulty. I want everyone to enjoy and have a great time. Very Respectfully, Coy Gayle, Rally Chairman. Forum name : Hardrock , for Private Message purposes.

 4. The rack slide in and out very easily; after Oliver replaced the rack, I did use a very light file and run over the square edges with one pass.

 5. We had the very first bike rack that Oliver installed on any trailer and it was a joke. After many calls and emails to Oliver they sent me a replacement bike rack hitch, which was not much of an improvement. That started another round of calls and emails to Oliver about the replacement bike rack hitch. The third and current rack was installed by Oliver at their factory, which has handled our two bikes and rack weighting 121 lbs. We also have a cargo basket for our Honda 2000 generator and a 2..5 gal gas can plus the cover and it's weight is 121.5 lbs. You can see in the attached picture that Oliver used under the bike rack the same rubber that is placed under all supports between the aluminum and fiberglass body. With the current rack I have had no issues, the mounting bolts remain tight over many miles.

 6. Did my pre delivery for 431 yesterday (3/21/19) and asked about the 80 psi in the tires. the response I got was that was what the tire / rim supplier delivered them with. Guess that would be for maximum weight in the trailer. I asked them to bleed them down to 60 lbs as I didn't want the trailer "bouncing" along I 40 and I81 for 800 miles!

 7. I don't know how thick of rubber you want, but the stall mats sold at Tractor Supply are pretty tough rubber, the smaller ones are 1/2" thick and are around $20 for a 3x4' panel. I've used them for rear bed mats for my pickup and bed mat for my 4x4 Polaris. I believe Tractor Supply sells small ones that lock together, but don't know the price. Checkout the website for prices and styles if that's something you can use. trainman

 8. Coy, Thanks for your thoughtful note. I really can't see how this relocation issue can cause anyone a problem. Things happen and it is no big deal. It certainly is not a problem for us. As you mentioned, this is a nice park. We planned to be next to some friends, but they were moved too. So we are still next to them. Either way, it's fine. Last year we had a good time and met a lot of great people. I'm looking forward to the same this time and have no concerns at all about being in a different spot. I found that having a bike was very convenient and allowed us to move all over the park. And to easily get back and forth to the Pavilion area. It's a great way to stop by other's camps and say hi or get acquainted. See you there! John

 9. Dear Owners, On March 11th, we stated that we were looking into this and here's what we have come up with so far and there will be more to follow: First of all, we’d like to express how much we appreciate any owner who voluntarily shows their travel trailer to others who show an interest. We acknowledge your contribution as being a large part of our success. However, this is a voluntary program and if at anytime an owner feels there is too much risk, they should withdraw from the program. Regardless of whether you take part or not, we appreciate you. Both our attorney and our insurance agent have indicated to us that since we do not have any control over the owner, their trailer or their premises it is not a risk we can insure against. We are working to create a “hold harmless” agreement that we can put into the terms and conditions that folks agree to on our website when they request a field visit. The value of such an agreement will be limited in terms of how much protection it may provide due to the fact that there are so many variables in the potential circumstances and the laws governing liability vary from state to state. Once we have the hold harmless in place, we will post it here. Commercial insurance, which we carry, covers our employees and products but not our customers. We did ask if there was a rider available and were told not at this time. Regarding your personal liability there has already been a lot of discussion here so it doesn’t need repeating. You should check with your carrier to see what coverage you have if this is a concern as people come and go from your property every day for any number of reasons. Again, thank you for all of your contributions, we are looking forward to seeing you at the rally and we can discuss this further there if anyone comes up with anything else.

 10. Corcomi, I am sorry to hear about your troubles. First, is your Truma still in warranty? See my post about my Truma repair, and the extended warranty. I would fight them if they claim that your warranty is void because you did not remove the filter when you winterized. I do, at least when it is relevant. Before winterizing, I did read the friggin manual, and as Overland pointed out, the Instruction Manual we were provided did NOT say to remove the filter. So you did follow their instructions. This is the Instruction Manual that Truma provided to Oliver, and that Oliver provided to us. If their instructions were incorrect, then they screwed up. This is from the Instruction Manual: [attachment file=Truma Instructions.png] I don’t know where that Truma document on Oliver University came from. When I google the title of the document (AG_Maintenance_and_Winterization Truma) or the first sentence of the document, my only hit is at Oliver University. When I go to the Truma US website and search for Winterization, I only find this page, which states "Step 4: Truma recommends storing the filter cartridge separately while the system is winterized." [attachment file=Truma Web site.png] Notice the language? Recommends. Not You Must. I called Truma when my AquaGo had problems. Again, see my post here. Once they found out I was under warranty they suggested shipping a new unit, and having a local service person install it. I didn’t like the sound of that plan, as it is reflective of our throw-away society. I would rather try to repair something before replacing it. So instead, I had the local service person open up the unit and try to fix it. If it could not be repaired, then Truma would send me a new unit, and I might be liable for the cost of the service tech's time on the repair attempt. But he was able to repair it. I am telling you all of this because of the amount of time it took for the repair, and how the guy you talked to on the phone may look at the situation. It took time to remove the AquaGo, to open up the unit, to repair it, and to reinstall it. Opening up the unit took the most time, repairing it took the least time. It would have taken much less service time to simply replace the unit. I am sorry, but I don't trust this guy. It sounds to me that he does not want to bother trying to repair it, but would rather just install a new one. Probably gets a sizable commission on the sale of the new unit, too. I would talk to Truma headquarters, or a different service rep. I have winterized my trailer three times without removing the filter, and for two of the winterizations I have not had “a broken water line that cannot be repaired.” (I don't know about this past winter, as I will be taking Ollie out of storage soon for a trip to Moab.) It sounds like Overland’s experience is similar, and if you have Hull 275 you have probably winterized at least once without this problem. Probably others on the forum, as well. Good luck with it!

 11. Any one like the idea of a Caravan of Oliver's heading to and from the Rally?

 12. Perhaps this could be a bit like herding cats, but it is certainly worth a try. I would think that the process would be fairly simple - post the time and places along your route to the Rally that would be convenient for people to meet up. Then wait to see if anyone actually shows up. Obviously, overnight stops would be good for this purpose. Good luck! Bill

 13. Yes, the team at Oliver has it covered for virtually any major repair. Also, most any good fiberglass boat yard or a body shop that takes care of Corvettes can do fiberglass work. If I were going to take my Ollie to anyone besides the team at Oliver I would insist that they at least talk to the people at Oliver to make sure that the resins used and the gelcoat type and color were the same and/or compatible with the original Oliver stuff. 14. I ordered one of these and just checked the 110v outlets in the trailer. All show open ground. I’m hooked up to shore power (30a at home). Bad news?

 15. For all those planning to attend the 2019 Rally, I'm offering up my place to camp before or after the rally. We have a "farm" with plenty of open space, water, and a place to dump you tanks if needed. Electricity is available, but most likely just a 20 amp circuit. We are located on the south side of Tim's Ford Lake, in Winchester TN. Our location is about 20 min to Jack Daniel Distillery, Lynchburg, TN about 40 min from George Dickel Distillery, Winchester, TN. We are about 1 hour to Chattanooga, and 2 hrs. to Nashville. Lots to do if you have never spent much time in this area. Easy entry off a paved road, and grassy treed area for camping. For more information you can contact me by email : rrbounds -- at ---- gmail ----- .com.
