  2. Been reading some threads on ""Where's Ollie" and have run across the term "COE" campgrounds. Can someone explain? Also, having been on the forum for some time now, I have noted several terms and acronyms being used that I finally broke the code on but: how about a new category be created specifically as a lookup tool for someone who might not be up-to-speed on the trailer speak? Maybe call it something like "Common RV Terms and Abbreviations". It would be nice if the list was alphabetic, dynamic, and updateable and not just a placeholder for individual comments. Is this doable?

  3. The 2020 Oliver Travel Trailer Owners’ Rally will be held Thursday, May 14 thru Sunday, May 17, 2020. Once again, the Oliver Travel Trailer Owners’ Rally will be held at Lake Guntersville State Park, located in Guntersville, AL The cost for the 2020 rally will be in two parts: the rally registration costs (mostly rally meals), and the campground registration costs. At this time, we are working to lower the rally registration costs. We will announce the costs after we have adaquate sponsorship. We will be working with Oliver and the vendors to have rally sponsorship to reduce attendee costs. We do, however, know that campground cost is going to be $24.00/night (or $14.00/night for a boon docking spot). Camping Reservations –(256) 571-5455 For the 2020 rally, all the Oliver Travel Trailer Owners will need to call the campground and reserve their campsites for the dates that you want. They will ask for a one-night deposit of $24.00 (or $14.00 for boon docking). When you arrive at the campground for the 2020 rally, you will pay for your remaining nights in the campground. And then in a few weeks, when we finalize the rally costs, we will all need to call the Lodge to make rally reservations and pay for the rally costs. We will give you the exact rally costs as soon as we know. Thanks to everyone that attended the 2019 Rally. A big THANKS to all of the great volunteers. Fun was had by all, we learned much from each other and we are now better campers as a result of our rally. I look forward to seeing you next year. 4. We could not go to the Lake Guntersville rally because we had a family gathering at Jalama Beach county park campground, west of Santa Barbara, CA. This is a really nice campground, right on the ocean. We had our Oliver, my sister had her Casita, and other family members rented cabins. On our way home we stayed in Snow Canyon State Park, near St. George, UT. A really fabulous park.

  5. The shut off valve you are looking for should be under the dinette seat fairly close to where that line enters the black tank. I'm not sure when the factory started adding that valve, but, I know that my Ollie (hull #117) does not have one. Given that there is a "check" valve on that line and all other signs seem to indicate that the flush worked properly - I would not worry about it. Next time you are at the factory you might want to ask about it or if it really bothers you, go ahead and cut it in yourself. Bill

  6. Yes turn the Furrion stereo input to AUX. You will have to turn up volume more. I like to turn the tv volume down. It will play through all four speakers but you can just play through front or back by selection on Furrion. My best sound comes from just using the back speakers next to the TV. If doesn’t work, check the RCA output connections on TV are good.

  7. Not saying that "this" is your problem but its worth a shot. I had a similar problem. The cause was some debris falling down the exhaust stack on to the sensor for the flame (sensing no flame the gas would be shut off). The solution was to either take the whole thing apart of simply blow some compressed air into that area. Be careful to NOT blow air back into the small opening from where the propane comes out of the burner. Now, I always carry a can of compressed air that you can get at Target, WalMart, Ace, etc. Bill

  8. And just think, not an ounce of liability was incurred. That's what helping family (be it personal or extended) is all about. Never turn your back on a person in need, for it may well be you sometime down some lonely forest road...

  9. Flip off the circuit breaker labeled CHARGER (#5 far right on mine). Then set the refrigerator mode to GAS using the front control panel button. Your solar will more than keep up with the DC draw by the ignitor and control circuit. The microwave will draw a minuscule amount for the control/display so you could unplug it in from the outlet in the cabinet above if you're really serious.

  10. I do believe that they changed the design. There was a discussion here a month or so ago about it, and some trailers have both a check valve and a manual valve, and some only the check valve. edit - Bill seems to be a faster typer than me today. ;)

  12. Another update: on the way to Guntersville we still had the intermittent failure issues but it seems to be not as often. Keep in mind that it always works on either AC or DC, it just intermittently fails on propane and it doesn’t make any difference if it’s on shore power or not. For some reason it will run perfectly for four days and then fail, turn it off and back on and it’s good for another four days. This hasn’t been totally proven out yet but I’m still trying different things. After we get home I want to do some thorough testing, again.

  13. Since April 16, 2018 my wife and I (plus big dog) have slept in our 18.5' Elite 100% of the time except for short plane trips to help family or attend function. There have been a couple hotel visits in nearby Tallahassee for doctors. Other than that, every night in the Ollie either on the road or at base camp in Florida. We like the Florida State Parks and get the geezer discount so we generally pay around $12 per night. On the road we find ACoE parks to be the best suited for our needs (They generally have washers and dryers). Those stays average around $12 per night as well due to the senior lifetime geezer pass I paid $9 for. We are heading west in June for the summer and hope to find several boondocking locations, the occasional full hook-up park, and also use our Harvest Hosts membership for quick overnights.

  14. Someone just shared this on airforums and I thought I'd pass it along here too. "Victron has just released a new book called "Wiring Unlimited". I hate to use the term "ultimate", but this is the ultimate reference book for anyone wanting to do electrical work on their RV. You can download a copy at:" https://www.dropbox.com/s/pdkngditufe0zfb/Wiring%20Unlimited.pdf?dl=1
