  1. From responses on the forum elsewhere, it seems the convection microwave can not be retrofitted into previous to 2019 models. Evidently it required a mold change. How that change looks has not been shown. Whether that is why the refrigerator was changed has yet to be discussed. Seems the new oven (convection) is deeper...
  2. Interesting to see three consecutive hull #s coming together. Welcome all. Where is everyone from??
  3. We love our Ram 2500 4 X 4 with the 6.4 gas. If I was to re-enact my youth, I bet I could "roast" all 4 tires. The power is there, the space is there, but it is big. The nice thing is with the Oliver, you don't know it is there. Excellent road manners. I don't have the tow mirrors and do not need them. I can see all the way down both sides of the trailer without a problem. It may be a bit of an overkill for a tow vehicle, but we also use it to plow snow. Th ability to move a V plow is important where we live...
  4. Hopefully the electrician knows that the RV plug is only 110 (120) volts? Some look at it like a dryer plug and wire it 220?
  5. Love the light darkening blind, and the clear "who's at the door" window. Question? Why two awning handles? Do you leave them attached while the awning is out.
  6. We used GE Silicone that is available from any Home Depot or Lowe's (I am sure most hardware stores have it too). The nice thing is it comes in a small tube, about the size of a large tube of toothpaste. No caulking gun needed. There is a built in nozzle, that when capped is reusable the next time you want some. The tube also fits in your tool pouch. It works extremely well, sets overnight, and remains flexible.
  7. We were at a CG near downtown Freeport, Maine. There was an open ground, as shown by the "little yellow tester" we always plug in first. The Progressive EMS system would not allow power to the Oliver. We had to be there for two days at a family function, so moving on was not an option. We notified management who eventuality sent someone over. The problem is they didn't know what the Progressive unit was and went and got their own tester. It was the "little yellow tester" and they didn't know how to read that. As, with an Oliver, electrical hookup is not needed to be comfortable we stayed. We hooked up a two line extension cord to a crock pot and electrical grill as needed. The CG saw that and commented, "see, you got power". Walking around we saw another site that had an electrical wire stapled to a tree and only loose wire nuts on the exposed wires. Just where a kid might play with them. Again we talked with the staff. This time I was told they would look into it the next week during business hours. Seeing we live close we went back a little more than a week later with a tester. Nothing had been done. An acquaintance of ours in the State office that inspects CG got a call. I just noticed the owner has decided to retire and the CG is for sale. A great opportunity to enjoy a great life style and it has some great shopping too...
  8. I had to replace the little antenna on the back of the Oliver. I asked Jason in service if they used 5200?. He said no, they used white silicone. He thought it was more flexible. I had a small tube of clear that I carry anyway and it has worked great and easy to use. (I usually coat electrical butt splices and such with it to waterproof, has worked well for years in a salt water environment at the coast)...
  9. White is the color of the positive wire in a 12 V system. Black is the color of the negative wire in a 12 V system. This may lead to confusion on many levels, by many people.
  10. It is basically a 12v unit. We just never got the 12 v cord as we seem to have inverters in everything. I suppose the simple thing is to just get a 12 v cord, plug it in and not worry about inverters and such...
  11. An aside: when traveling from state to state...do you have to get a fishing license in every state? I think we ought to petition Congress, state camping organizations, and any body that will listen...there should be a nation wide fishing license for retired folks. Ought to be great for the economy too...
  12. 2016 Ram 2500 4 x 4 clears without a problem.
  13. Thank you. We have a 'portable' Progressive EMS, which should delay any spikes. The CG generator has a timer that turns it on @ 10:00 to 10:30 PM, and 2:00 to 2:30 AM. Have not had any problems, but sure didn't want to get up to to adjust anything. Guess we are ok as we were. Using the Oliver we never knew if the power was on or off anyway.
  14. Stop and have a peanut butter Whoopie Pie and an ice cold Moxie to complete the experience. We are 2 miles off the Interstate, 40 miles N of Portland if you need anything...
  15. Evidently the flat grassy area was where a big resort was before the war. It was later part of the POW compound. Water is pressurized all day, electric at specific time when the generator runs. It is the largest mountain lake in the Eastern U.S.. The wind blew with torrential rain one day and washed my camper. Too bad I was half way out and by the time I got back there was over 1/2" of gravel, stone dust, and plain dirt riding my running boards. Most of the area, for miles and miles and to the Canadian border have only a limited amount of logging roads. That applies to most of the area surrounding the northern half of the lake. There is also the newest National monument Park on the Eastern side of almost 88,000 acres and Baxter State Park..neither of which allow camping. A great mixture of Spruce and vegetation gives the air a crisp refreshing smell. There are plenty of coves, marsh and islands to explore, and some huge fish. Compared to the rest of the Eastern seaboard and tourist traps along the way, this is definitely a wilderness. (Shh...don't tell everyone about..it will become too crowded too)..
  16. Interesting side note: this was a site for a POW camp. They housed Germain Africa Corp soldiers. Guess any that escaped came back for food and warmth in winter. No place to go? They had axes and saws and cut woods to supply paper to the growing Army need.
  17. Weekends definitely see an uptick in attendance. Usually after hauling in, my guess is folks stay awhile. Fishing is great...
  18. If heading toward Greenville, Maine be sure to check out Spring Creek Bar B Q in Monson, Maine. They are only open Thursday.,Fri., Sat., and Sunday though. (They just moved 2 doors north to a newer building from the picture)

  19. Question: if on an inverter, running a Cpap machine, and the CG's generator kicks in, is there any danger? How does the circuits handle this transition, or is there any?
  20. 23 dirt road miles in to a stop sign. Turn right on another dirt road for 13 miles to the CG. Roads are maintained by a combination (depending where you are) by different paper companies a nd the state. The CG has timed hours throughout the day for their generator to run. We saw moose, deer, and we're serenaded by loons every morning and evening. Superior fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Plenty of space without tree cover to charge your batteries with solar...
  21. When you slow down and smell the roses it is amazing what you see hiding just beyond the roses. Also having your morning coffee while backed up to a river or mountain vista, saying " I wonder what day it is?", and don't really care...
  22. Welcome from Maine. The hardest decisions with a self contained Oliver; when you come to a stop sign, do I turn left or right?
  23. Welcome from Maine. Are special graphics in order for the Trainman? Maybe a set of train tracks running up and down the sides? Maybe a signal sign or crossing gates on the front? You need something special on the front, as you travel to see all the great places that trains helped build in this great country...
  24. Does the Easy Start help the AC start when on Campground 110V power? Sometimes (?) Campground power is 'fragile', especially when it is hot and the grid is stressed. In some older parks it is rare to see 120 v at anytime.
  25. PEI is where the Gulf Stream comes back a shore. A cool place with warm water. After wading in the water of Acadia you will see how nice warm water is. There are at least 6 Oliver's in the state, plus visitors...be prepared to wave...
