  1. I know that Oliver terminated it's agreements with all the dealers in the southeast. I believe there was at least one dealership who had not paid for the trailers that were sitting on their sales lot. I'm sure there were other reasons as well, but it was just easier for them to handle all the sales for southeastern customers through Hohenwald.
  2. That's a good thought about the solar cutoff switch. I don't have one and rarely think that when trying to figure out someone else's problem. I'll call him and ask. Thanks!
  3. Hey John, this guy is OK. He's Matt Marcenelle, Retired Military, Wife is a retired Coast Guard Commanding Officer. Son just graduated from West Point. They live up in Pennsylvania and have had their Oliver 4-5 years. I met him the week he got his trailer. He called me this morning about this issue. It seems to be charging fine off AC but not so well off Solar. He did have his panels off earlier this summer for ceramic coating of the trailer. I told him to recheck his panel connections and if that didn't work to call Victron. I really don't think it's his batteries. He has a Xantrex converter/charger that I know almost nothing about. Hope you guys are doing well. Will we see you in Quartzsite this winter?
  4. Dexter’s springs are made in China, probably from crushed up old rusty Changan’s.
  5. Because of so many recommendations, yesterday I bought a 25 foot marine and RV Gorilla hose from Home Depot. Like John, we do a lot of boondocking and often fill our tank from our Scepter Military water cans. I was unaware that they "...do not work for filling the fresh tank via the boondocking port..." This will not present a problem for us as I have a dedicated set-up for that purpose but I mention it here for the benefit of others that might not have known. On Home Depot's website, this is a buy one, get 20% off on the second one until 07-27-2025. I believe I'll get another for a dedicated black flush hose. They are so light and compact they'll take up only about 10% of the room as the old hoses presently do.
  6. Your best source of experts will be found right here. There's more knowledge and experience among the owners than any other place, including Oliver.
  7. You'll likely not be able to get it fixed in the shop. As soon as the middle shackle flips up, the other end will flip down. You can go back and forth like this for hours if you're enjoying the frustration. Just leave it alone until you're ready to travel in November. I won't hurt it to sit that way. Pull it over a 6 inch curb, listen for the bang and move on.

  9. You need to return to your profile information and fill in all the details about your Oliver. Just saying you own one does not provide us with enough information to assist you.

  11. They told me that they solved the problem by just leaving the black gaskets out. I removed all of mine and it solved the problem with the streaks.
  12. This indicates that the sail switch in the furnace is not operating properly.
  13. Your trailer will not have a Blue Sky Solar Controller. If you have factory solar, it will have the Zamp system instead.
  14. How is October 21 - 25 “over Halloween”? And besides, they announced at the Rally this year this year that the rally would be moving to the fall next year. Personally, I think it’s a great idea, by late October the weather should be moderating and there’ll be almost zero chance of a tornado.
  15. This is an excellent article for newby’s. It has taken me nearly seven decades of working with my hands and buying every tool listed to discover all the tricks mentioned in it. If I could have read it when I was ten I could have avoided a bunch of trial and error (and a good amount of failure) through the years.
  16. I have our two mounted on each side of the television. I decided that locking them at all while underway was not the best idea. We just let them swing free.
  17. If you plan to replace your shocks with the OEM Monroe’s you should check with buying them at O’Reilly’s auto parts. They are a little bit more expensive than buying them from Amazon but then they warranty them for life and you don’t have to keep up with your receipt if you go online and open an account with them.
  18. I agree with you. I never turn off the main 30 amp breaker prior to starting the generator. I can’t see any reason to do that as we don’t turn it off prior to plugging it into a power post. As far as misplacing or losing your bonding ground plug, I leave mine permanently in the generator. There’s no reason to remove it. If I were to remove mine, I wouldn’t be able to find it five minutes later much less on the next camping trip.
  19. It does sound as if you’ve had good luck with eTrailer. I wish my only experience with them had been as good. I ordered a bread new Maxxfan from them because it was a few dollars cheaper than Amazon. It was bad right out of the box. Not only would they not take it back, I had to deal with the factory for warranty service. It took over a month to get it all sorted. I won’t be fooled again.
  20. The early Elite II's were all delivered with the Fiamma awnings and they do have legs, they are adjustable in length and can be staked down to the ground or slanted back to brackets mounted on the side of the trailer. At over 11 years in, like Mike and Carol, we have never had a single issue with ours.
  21. Use some acetone, it won't hurt the gelcoat and I'll wager the stain will come right off. I use it all the time. Will also remove mildew stains from caulk.
  22. Back when your trailer was built, they didn’t understand all the nuances of the solar system that I designed for them. The then “service manager” just couldn’t grasp the notion that all the negative wires had to go through the shunt first or the IPN Pro would not calculate the SOC properly. Most likely, the negatives from the solar controller and possibly the charger also, go directly to the negative terminal on the battery. There really should only be two wires coming out of the battery box. I moved everything else out of the box and onto some massive buss bars.
  23. Propane in air burns at 3596°F. I don't know how hot that makes the burner tubes get but I believe a tig spot weld would be the best bet. With the right filler metal for example, silicon bronze (melts around 1500-1600°F.), you might be able to braze the ends to the frame.
  24. I am posting this for my friend Coy Gayle... I owned a 2014 Elite and decided to upgrade to a new 2024 Elite. I have always kept my trailer housed in a heated and cooled garage. There was not room in the garage for both trailers so I bought a new Calmark cover so that one trailer could be housed and the second protected under the Calmark cover. During this process, I had a friend contact me about buying the 2014 Elite and we made the deal. I had not anticipated the trailer would sell so fast and my friend came to my house picked up the trailer and took it home. I now have the Calmark cover in my garage, still in the original box, never opened or used. I have no need for it so I am offering it for sale at a considerable savings. The retail price of a Calmark cover with a zipper door is $1,152.00 plus shipping and handling S&H. I will sell the one I have for $700. I will be attending the Oliver Travel Trailer Owners Rally at Lake Guntersville, Alabama next week and will have it with me. If interested, you can purchase it from me at the rally or I can ship it to you for $700.00 plus shipping and handling. This is a savings of $452.00 for a brand new high quality Calmark cover for an Oliver Elite. I guarantee that this is an original Calmark cover, never used, and box never opened. If you have questions, please e mail me at Coy.gayle@gmail.com. I will reply or if you want to chat, send me your phone # and I will return your call. Coy Gayle
