  1. Thanks for the explanation. I thought they worked on the same principle.
  2. Overland I have to commend you. Wiring is not one of my strong points. That wiring must have taken a lot of time and effort. Nice work.
  3. WhatDa seems like your moving towards dodge and all the spec’s are making you undecided. Look at the all new 2020 chevys The 1500 gas claim to have a new towing capacity as some 2500 models. And the 2500 and 3500 are above the pack. It could make you crazy comparing spec’s to a point. As always its all personal preference. Get in it, like it, and buy it. Works for me.
  4. I think there is one other thing to consider. Values for the Oliver are good new or used. If Oliver travel trailer went to a dealer base, the costs would be close if not more than airstream values. Greedy dealers. I’m glad of the cost savings buying factory.
  5. I meant just as you just described. Not as good as you have shown, nice picture. others are called bearing buddy’s and your right not on the Ollie. Although they aren’t better than hand packing, a lot of times grease doesn’t make it to the rear bearing or it gets overfilled and and the rear seal goes bad.
  6. If you are asking if the wheel bearings are ez lube, No. all the moving part are shackles etc
  7. I’m fairly confident that you still have some suspension issues. You ruled out the TV by testing with two trucks same results. A more in-depth inspection made be needed. Trailer off the ground wheels off, with large pry bar you need to move each suspension part to check for play. Not a easy job, you may want a trailer shop do this. Changing the shock bushings and repacking bearings is good. As Mike and Carol said the older models showed a lot of wear in the suspensions especially with no grease points. One last check long shot check the mounting bolts where the suspension frame mounts to the aluminum frame. Frustrating for sure.
  8. Good point on the brake control adj. too high output could cause jerking. Sorry to say you can have a host of things causing the problem.
  9. It sounds like you may have some worn suspension parts, being your Ollie is a 2016. Do you know much of the history of the trailer? First check your ball size. It should be 2in but some owners changed the coupler to 2 5/16? Check mounting bolts for bulldog hitch bolts tight? Mounting hole in alum frame enlarged? Then move to the rear of the Ollies suspension check shackles, bolts, and bearings etc. for wear, if all that is good, next look at the truck. You have a 2019 is it new or lease turn in.? Just because the truck is new don’t discount defective parts in the drive line, rear end, drive shaft, transmission. I’d go back to the dealer doesn’t sound like the anti sway control should be coming on, unless there may be a elec. connection problem when Ollie is plug into the truck. And as Raspy said you shouldn’t need the Anderson hitch with that size truck. If all that fails scratch your head. Good luck.
  10. Just guessing maybe your igniter prob may have to much gap for battery ignition and shore power is able to make the gap? Or I’m completely wrong.
  11. Good price hopefully tractor supply in Florida has them I’d still keep my 3400 DF for the next Florida hurricane, and we have to live in the Ollie till the power comes back on usually 3-7 days.
  12. Most of the instructions for black tank sprayer say keep the black drain valve open while using the flushing system. But i also like to keep it closed for a short time to fill the tank then have it flush out. I can see it would be a two person operation 18 gals is a small tank and will fill quickly.
  13. Yes the price doesn’t match the quality. If you put on all the options Oliver has you’ll be around 70k far short of airstreams 100k and you can’t get these options on the airstream. If you look at both as usable square footage. Not much difference. Build quality doesn’t compare I know, been there. It’s still your personal preference. Look at both up close and purchase what suits you best. Oliver was my choice.
  14. I just purchased one of many gadgets for the Ollie thought I’d share it. From where else amazon. The make is Opolar model # CF02 mini car fan. It has USB plugin, mounts anywhere with suction cup. Has four fan speeds and is super quite. It moves a lot of air. The only thing is the USB cable is 10’ long i had a 6” cable that works great. I posted the pictures of it mounted. I’m not sure how to post the item on this site from amazon. If any one can help? Thanks I’m going to purchase a 2nd for the other side.
  15. I feel for you. I had the same experience with my airstream, lucky i caught it just as the water was coming onto the floor from the shower stall. It was a hard clean up with a wet plywood floor. Days with a fan on to dry out. My big mistake with the Ollie is forgetting to pull the valve in the shower stall. Wet feet makes you remember. Even though I’ve been rving for many years their are still times you forget or things you haven’t experienced before. These mistakes make for good camp fire story’s down the road.
  16. [postquote quote=173491][/postquote] Not to worry if you fuel mileage is low to start, it will steadily increase as the motor breaks in, i made the trip from Florida to Tennessee to pick up my oliver on June 26, on the trip back average 15 mpg. The other nice thing engine braking. Had some 6% down grades, set the cruise, set the engine brake. And just cruised down with out touching the brakes.
  17. I have the BW hitch had it for years, no problems, I only have the 2” and 2/516 the 1 7/8 aren’t used much any more, they were the norm at one time now its the 2’’ I like the BW it’s adjustable for different heights and the nice part, the ball mounts fold under the hitch, keeps you from banging your leg when you aren’t looking.
  18. At least you didn’t hit that swarm while driving what a mess. I live in Florida and hate them glad they are only out a short time.
  19. If you look at the review section where trailer life reviewed the Oliver, sitting in the front basket is a champion 3400 watt generator. I have the same in duel fuel. I have just picked up my Ollie on June 26th I haven’t tried the generator yet, The concern that most have is carbon monoxide entering the the Ollie. I do know that when the bathroom window is open and the max air fan is on, you get a lot of air flow into the trailer, this may be why it isn’t recommended to use the generator in the front box. I plan on putting this to the test. I’m going to go to the local fire station to see if they will monitor the inside of the trailer with a CO. Monitor while running the generator in the basket with and with out the window open. It should be a good test for any generator used,
  20. It’s official. I’m now part of the OTT family 06/26/2019 hull # 484 I’m without words, ok I’ll say a few. I have had many Rvs, TT, fifth wheels, toy haulers and slide in truck campers. No class A,s beyond my budget. When I walked in today and saw the trailer I I was truly amazed. Never had that feeling before with the other Rvs As we were going over the unit I kept shaking my head. I think they thought I wasn’t wrapped to tight. I was in total amazement how well this trailer was put together. This truly is the best Travel Trailer out there. The forum has been great looking forward to being a part of OTT for years to come. And meeting new friends. Thanks everyone.
  21. I mentioned this some time ago there is a app for your phone ( Bubble level) it has a bubble level, surface level, gyroscope, plumb line, and a metal detector. Since you alway carry your phone you’ll always have a level for your Ollie, works great for me. Very accurate.
  22. Wow its going to be crowded at OTT. I’m also scheduled to pick up my unit on the 26th Hull # 484 they must be at a back log or someone at Ott over booked. They usually make deliveries every other day. Ill also be at Davey Crockett on the 27th I’m staying in Ott lot for the night. I’ve been Rving for many years but still no expert, I’ll be happy to help at the campground if needed. Looking forward to meet some fellow Ollie Owners
  23. [postquote quote=176376][/postquote] I think you should do it. Get it done and show everyone how great it will be. change is good.
