  1. Welcome and Congratulations !!! We had a 9 month wait to pick ours up!! As many will tell you this forum is full of information. It has been a big help to us as "discovery" visits places closer to home for now. Read, ask questions, watch the videos during your wait. Safe Travels!!
  2. I dont drink coffee, never have - I know kinda weird. Shawna does and we got a small Keurig and she loves it. I did get some Hot Chocolate to run thru it when it is a little cooler on those frosty mornings in the fall.
  3. Congratulations and Safe Travels !!
  4. I have mine plugged into a receptacle in the garage. It has a 20amp breaker. We dont turn anything on except the lights occasionally and the heater pad in the winter. I use the adapter to attach to our 30 amp cable Oliver provided. Should I adjust the setting on #28 to 15 since we have a 20 amp breaker?
  5. I agree on the analysis paralysis part of these types of things. I could have still been on here asking questions about Oliver and wondering when the "right time" to buy one would be. In our case, Life is about change and discovery. We decided to just go do it and we didn't look back. All your concerns are legitimate but do you have to have it perfect before you begin? You can start with your VW and if along the way you decide it doesn't work for you then they do sell trucks everyday. You travel plans are also adjustable since you are in charge. You may have planned to go explore Colorado for example but decided to explore Alaska instead. We have several large trips planned in the future. I don't expect all them to go as planned but some of the fun we have experienced in our short time is making those adjustments and doing things more spontaneously. All this to say, you can sit and research this for years or you can start your next chapter and understand life is full of surprises that sometimes require adjustments. Enjoy and Discover all the wonderful places and people you will encounter.
  6. Thanks for taking us along on your trip!! The pictures are wonderful but probably not as good as the memories you made!!
  7. Sure do, we are can do anytime, plans easily changed!!
  8. Not sure if I told you but we are in E21 again next year.
  9. Hello, We were in your position a couple years ago. Never owned a travel trailer, we wanted to travel the country and Discover all the various places. We landed on the Oliver after looking at several other types and manufacturers. We are very happy with our purchase of Hull 1182 a 2022 model. My suggestion on what I would do differently is "Don't wait". We were going to wait until closer to retirement but then just pulled the trigger and have not looked back. We went to the Rally this year and met several really great folks. We are planning some longer trips we want to take with lots of great input from the forum. Right now we take shorter trips to some state parks in Ohio/West Virginia and enjoy getting away and learning more about our Oliver.
  10. Congrats on your sale, I sure it must have been tough. I hope you have stay on the forums, your advice and mods instructions has helped many of us save a lot of frustrating hours. I mentioned to someone interested in Olivers the other day that is feels like a real big family!!
  11. Amazing and thanks for all the pics, we are jealous!! Hope to make that trip in the next couple years
  12. Looks like you brought your Ollie with you to Tuk. How was the roads any concerns towing the Oliver? Its on our list but wasnt sure about taking the Oliver all the way there or dropping it off in Dawson somewhere.
  13. Those are Woodland Caribou and they can only be found in Newfoundland.
  14. Thanks, very helpful !!
  15. @Galway Girl You may have covered this somewhere else if so Im sorry just havent seen it mentioned anywhere. What did you use on the front of your Oliver and how did you attach it?
  16. My gas furnace at home was doing this every couple seasons and it has always been the flame sensor. I just started cleaning it before I start to use it each year at home and so far no problems. I am not familiar with your furnace but it should have a flame sensor and it sounds like the exact same problems I was having. If you can find the flame sensor it is easy to clean. Sorry couldnt be more help.
  17. This trip and an Alaskan adventure are on the top of our lists. Thanks for all the wonderful pics and information on camp grounds!! Enjoy the rest of your trip and Safe Travels.
  18. This is just my opinion. At some point you have to make decisions. At some point you are going to say "man if I just waited". I have a 2022 Oliver, sure we wish the Truma was available when I purchased mine but the one I have does the job. I also learned on here about alternatives if I wish to upgrade. We are still using our Oliver in the summer even with the Dometic, we just run it alittle before we come in for the evening to cool off the place. When we purchased our Oliver we made a decision to change the "status quo" for us and begin to discover things and places we always heard about but have never experienced. I cant imagine owning an Oliver and barely using it. We both still work and yet spent many weekends in state parks near us enjoying the Oliver and outdoors. If you are looking for reasons to sell it then sell it.
  19. We have a 36" Blackstone at home and love it. We purchased the 22" Blackstone for the Oliver, probably could have gotten by with 17" but so far we have plenty of space in the truck. We have hoses to connect to Oliver propane as well as hoses for external propane supply.
  20. So glad you were not hurt or worse with this accident!! We can get our Oliver's replaced in the end. Enjoy your new Ollie and Safe Travels.
  21. Congratulations and like others have said, just take it all in and enjoy!! Its been less than a year for us and we have learned so much. Ditto on the Pin, next stop Tractor Supply
  22. This was our first travel trailer, had only tent camped many years ago with the kids. Being new to all this and alittle nervous when we actually picked it up and then out on our own I figured it might be a good idea to video the delivery. As they went over all the options and how things worked on the trailer I had my wife video all of it. We stayed at the Oliver campground Friday and Saturday checking things out then went to spend a night at Davey Crockett with eventually ending up at a COE campground in Mississippi. During our initial trip(s) we would look at each other and ask, "what did he say about that" and would just go look at the video. Don't be afraid to ask all the questions you have. The delivery folks at Oliver were very understanding. Good Luck and Safe Travels !!
  23. Congrats. Safe Travels !!
  24. I will let you know... More to come!!
