Thanks Bill! We sure enjoyed it. David

We like the road less traveled. So from Floyd we took the Blue Ridge Parkway all the way to the Fancy Gap exit and then got on I-77. 72 degrees and a glorious ride in the cool breeze of the BRP. A fun 8 days adventure. We met some really neat and funny people. So now we are looking forward to our next trip.

“Somewhere Oliver and the Rainbow”. Yes, bluebirds do fly here...lots of them. Floyd, Va. Chantilly CG. We booked another week in October. We reeeeallly like it here.

Bill, Great pics, Kathy and I may give Mt Pisgah a try soon. We need to roll on home in a few days, clean up, restock take care of a few things and get back out on the road. So glad y’all had a nice trip and visit. David & Kathy

We landed a beautiful site and are still here at Chantilly after a week. Got in a great visit with family and explored around beautiful Floyd County. The temps were just perfect. The Ollie has performed seamlessly, can’t ask for more than that.

Welcome neighbors! Do the factory tour, you won’t be disappointed. We live in the foothills of Western NC and made two trips to Hohenwald, Tenn before placing our order for our 2020 OLEll. Looking back the two trips were so well worth it. It’s a big financial decision for most, so read and read, research, and do your due diligence. Go back as far as possible in the forum archives, you will learn a lot. Check out Oliver University...just a wealth of info provided by Oliver. We made a list of wants and needs. We also decided to consider resale when upgrading our options. Many options can be added later by Oliver, but it will come at a price vs factory custom order. There are certain creature comforts that we just did not want to do without given the price point of the Oliver. Now and then used Oliver’s pop up in the classifieds on here...possibly worth considering, however they move quickly. We took delivery June 16th and are very happy overall with our 2020 OLEll. Good luck on your decision!

We had hot water in approx 8-9 seconds at the kitchen sink on our last trip. No complaints here. 😊 We just turn the Truma off even though it sips LP. Agreed, in the end ya gotta go with what suits your camping style and needs. I do think the higher tech Truma system is an added value on eventual resale. And thinking forward, the truth is we all will sell at some point someday. Just another view point.

I vote for the Truma and I would not be surprised if it becomes a standard at some point with all new Oliver’s. (Out with the dated and in with new technology). So far we have not had any issues ours and we have a Truma tech close by our home in the event we do. Long hot showers are a wonderful thing! Just another point of view. 😊

What we like about the metallic silver is that in the shade it’s a bit darker and sun light much lighter and brighter. The same as our Tundra...kinda cool FWIW. Silver is a timeless color. 👍🏻

We just just spent a week at Bear Den CG just North of Spruce Pine, NC. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ with Hull# 634 which performed flawlessly. It was a well needed vacation post our blueberry harvest. We took time and spent a lot of time learning our Ollies systems- Love Love the Truma, long instant hot showers a win.I think it took like 6-8 seconds for us to have constant hot water at the kitchen sink and sink/shower. Microwave convection oven a must have for us. We were easily able to quickly cook/heat meals during a heavy storm one evening. Full hook ups allowed us to use our black and gray tanks seamlessly. The generator tray was extremely useful for a number of tasks. (We did not take our Honda generator this trip). Our AC kept us cool and cycled as it should. We did run the Dometic furnace on a cool 60 degree morning and it performed great. All in all a great safe week! A few photos....of our great State of North Carolina! 😊🇺🇸 Our Tundra CrewMax and it’s reliability delivered and performed outstanding. Check out Bear Den if your ever traveling the gorgeous elevations of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Happy Camping! Patriot

As perspective new owners we decided to make the best use of our time (a few months) by reading through the owners manuals during our build. I suggest take advantage of your previous RV experience and overlay that with what you learn here and you can craft your very own great checklist. ✅ This forum, the maintenance videos and Oliver University are great sources of information to begin putting together your new owner checklist for delivery day. Oliver will also provide you with a PDI checklist on delivery day. We have since converted our delivery day checklist to our camp arrival set up and camp take down checklists. Take advantage of the your down time and read and research. Our experience is that Oliver will go well above and beyond to ensure you have a successful delivery day. We had fun, enjoy your delivery day! Happy Camping! ✅ edit for the credit- Credit where credit is due- we are using a checklist that @John Davies has posted on here, it’s a really good one. We have a binder with our quick access checklists and Oliver’s maintenance checklist. All of these started from JD and the Oliver manual and various pointers learned on here. We also were able to draw on previous RV camping experiences.

Glad all went well, and congrats on your new Ollie! I agree zero complaints about our Tundra CM and its Ollie towing capabilities. Happy and Safe Travels!

Sounds like you have your plan, stay safe! We left Atlanta suburbs years ago...never to return. The traffic and population density was just unbearable.

We took delivery June 16th, spent 6.5 hrs on our delivery day going over everything we had on our long pre delivery check list. It was a long list and a drinking from the fire hose day 😄😳. We live 7 hrs from Oliver and driving home was just not a safe option for us given how tired we were from delivery day. We spent an extra 3 nights at David Crockett which looking back we’re really glad we did. You are correct, skipping the overnight stay Is not prudent. As stated driving back to Atlanta tired, possible rush hour, and stormy weather is a bad combo. As Overland already wisely stated and I completely agree, I would not recommend skipping your overnight shakedown at David Crockett.

Spoke to a Clam rep and asked if it was alright to treat our new shelter with Kiwi Camp Dry. The rep said that is the best water repellent to use. One 10.5 oz can will treat the (5) sided clam and the optional (4) sides. So it was a fairly cool 69 degree Western NC morning and I was the man for the job. 😁 It took about 20 min and a step ladder was needed to spray the top center of the roof. We will let it dry/cure for 24 hrs.
