  1. The 2020 manual for the Xantrex 3000w, as linked in the Oliver University, is not the 3000w version. I emailed my sales rep who confirmed the 2021 Lithium Pro inverter is the Xantrex Freedom XC Pro 3000w. I have not received a response yet to my request for the manual for this model. Not sure about the 50 amp breaker requirement for the 3000w Xantrex, when the trailer system is only 30 amp. How does that work? I guess you can put any amp breaker in as long as it meets a minimum requirement. Until I see the correct manual, this will remain a mystery. Still somewhat confused; I'm sure all this "power stuff" will make sense some day.
  2. That's the way the Xantrex 1000w inverter worked in our camper van. Oliver has a manual listed in the University for model year 2020. It is the Xantrex Freedom XC Pro 3000w. I have emailed my sales agent to inquire if this is the inverter used with the Lithium Pro Package. Unfortunately the link to the Pro 3000 in the University takes me to the manual for the XC 1000 and 2000w inverter, not the Pro 3000, manual.
  3. I looked at the manual Oliver has in the University listing (they show one for both the 2000 and the 3000 inverters, but the link to the 3000 brings up the 1000w/2000w version not the Pro 3000. Anyway, in the manual for the Freedom XC (not the 3000w Pro model), page 40, it appears the power display has just what I want - a flow chart! Not sure I totally understand it yet, but at least it's a visual instead of electrical jargon.
  4. "Ace is the Place" We love our Ace Hardware. If they don't have it, they can probably get it. We try to shop local 😃
  5. You have to add the length of the nightstand to the length of the bed rails to get the total bed length 😊
  6. Are you saying, when your inverter is set to "charger only" or "off", the outlets are not powered, even if the trailer is connected to shore power? If this is the case, and I have my trailer connected to shore power to run a space heater during storage and the power goes out, the inverter will power the heater off the batteries? That wouldn't be good. Is this correct: in a 12v system with a hybrid inverter/charger, the inverter/charger is one unit whereas with a 12v system with a non-hybrid inverter, the inverter is stand alone and works independently of the separate charger? Oliver needs a video crash course - 12v Electrical Systems 101.
  7. The whole "power thing" is complicated and confusing. . . . . I'm going to have to sit down with someone at Oliver, when we do our walk-through, and get educated. I need a flow chart (no pun intended), showing different situations: where the power is routed and what kind of power it is (110, 12v, solar, generator). Is there a pecking order, so to speak; which power source takes precedence. This is something Oliver needs to put on their university.
  8. Good advice . . . . . I'll let you know when the "coast is clear" . . . . literally 😀
  9. PNW . . . . . Oregon has been flooded with RVers from California . . . . .
  10. Interesting that the inverter would have to be on for the outlets to work. Our Leisure Travel Van had a 1000w inverter. The inverter had an on/off switch which we kept turned off, for the most part, and the outlets worked fine. Is the Oliver inverter automatic? Does it come on when the electrical system detects no 110 power? Our Oliver will be equipped with the lithium pro package. I am going to ask a lot of electrical questions during our walk-through.
  11. Off topic, but . . . . . did your X5 come equipped with run-flat tires? We replaced our original run-flats with new, on the recommendation of BMW and because our X5 has the third row seat, so no place to carry a spare. One thing the BMW tech mentioned is that the suspension is tuned for run-flat tires.
  12. Word of caution: none of the above applies during the pandemic 😷
  13. Our F-350: 6.7l V8 diesel with tow package. 55K trouble-free miles . . . . . no complaints. Towing a 30' 5th-wheel we got 12-13mpg. 18-20mpg not towing. Hoping for 15mpg towing our Elite II.
  14. I hope this is the case . . . . . an easy fix!
  15. That's a lot easier than trying to remember what day it is . . . . . . however, we still have to remember "garbage day" . . . . . our garbage pickup is every other Tuesday. The routine Monday question: "Is tomorrow garbage day?"
  16. Hmmm . . . . . our F350 never gets below 10-12 mpg, when towing a heavy load. Must be the difference between 3/4 and 1-ton.
  17. There are many factors to consider for the Escalade besides tow capacity: payload capacity (cargo you may plan to carry in it); transmission suitability for towing; overall construction (is the Escalade built on a pickup chassis or passenger car?) You might look at some GM forums and see what others have to say about towing with the Excalade.
  18. This is our "retirement clock" . . . . . . just have to remember to change it!
  19. We are choosing to keep our dependable 2013 F-350 SD diesel 4wd crew cab long bed to tow our Elite II. 55K trouble free miles, but the interior was looking "used". Installed these custom fitted seat covers from Cover King and detailed the interior. Everyone says it looks like a new pickup! Waiting for a Garmin 890 to complete our cockpit.
  20. 48 for us!
  21. Thanks . . . that sounds easy! Does the lithium pkg have a cut-off switch, or do you have to unhook the cables? If you disconnect the batteries, wouldn't the LP/CO alarm eventually go off?
  22. I forgot the turning radius . . . . I just automatically allow more room and remember to not turn the wheel too soon. Parking is very strategic, but not a problem where we live. I do choose parking spots in lots carefully as it is easy to get trapped if someone parks too close and there isn't room to back up far enough to make the turn to get out.
  23. I have a hard time remembering this. In the PNW, unless you are traveling in some parts of the eastern high desert area, most all routes are up . . . . and down . . . . up . . . . and down
  24. Charge to 50% and monitor, I get. What about while keeping an electric heat source going? Turn on heater and monitor SOC . . . . . charging by shore power vs solar . . . . . I wonder how much solar would be needed to maintain 50% charge with each . . . . . I guess we'll just have to experiment since there are not many OTT owners with lithium batteries.
  25. Must have been mostly downhill??
