  1. That’s what I initially thought, but didn’t want to force it since it covered the entire battery. Service said maintenance free. I’ll pull the model number, but couldn’t find it in a Google search, when I last checked. Not listed by Bright Star. This is a 2020 delivered in May, right before the factory shut down due to Covid.
  2. This the belated photo Seadog asked for in my similar thread. Oliver told me mine are sealed batteries. Build sheet from original owner did not show AGM.
  3. Landrover, did you remove the metal frame and flat mount it to the velcro or just metal frame to velcro? I'm leaning toward removing the frame, but thought I'd check.
  4. They are using a different battery now, and apparently when mine was built, as the ones I have are not the ones pictured in my 2020 printed manual. I'll get a photo in the next day or so... Brightway brand...but all they make is AGM and Lithium now.
  5. I talked to service and they said my wet cells were of the maintenance free variety. So watch the little blue dot and amps I suppose...until they go bad.
  6. Re: AT Tires...give a good look at Toyo AT3s.
  7. Would love to see it, but will be one squatty looking LE. 😉
  8. Finally back at the house. It was the awning battery. The freezing weather killed the original Alkaline batteries I'm sure. Will use Lithium this time. For future quick reference: Wind Sensor If awning is equipped with a wind sensor, it is located on inside surface of lead rail. P1. Slide sensor cover from sensor base. Then de. tach sensor from sensor cover. See (FIG. 😎 & (FIG. 9). 2. Remove old alkaline batteries and discard. See (FIG. 10). 3 NOTICE Do NOT use rechargeable bat- teries (NiMH, NiCD, etc.). Disposable Lithium or Alkaline type batteries are recommended. Install new batteries (size AA) in wind sensor. See (FIG. 10). Make sure battery polarity is matched cor- rectly to battery compartment. An LED will light momentarily (on circuit board) when new batteries are installed. See (FIG. 10). 4. Reattach wind sensor to sensor cover, and in- stall onto sensor base securely. See (FIG. 😎 &
  9. They do run electric to the bath for a compost toilet fan, if the trailer has that option.
  10. Still sad they didn’t post here, though understand given they own their own FB page.
  11. We’re away for three weeks and my friend was checking in on our property. He noticed a beeping sound near/above the door. It wasn’t louder inside, but unless the awning has a battery and low power notice we’re not sure what it is. My first thought was fire or monoxide sensor, but not local to each. Beep about every three to five seconds. I guess it could be in the hull and resonating to the outside, but that seems like a stretch. Thoughts?
  12. I don’t boat, but have lusted after a Nordic Tug for 20 years, back before they were building the longer hulls….probably because my sea kayak was a bit cramped back in the 90s. 😉 https://www.nordictugs.com

  14. John, given the demand for that car and the niche market of buyers, I’d price it high with new Michelin or similar. BUT, if they present well, just black the sidewalls and move on.
  15. I usually stay there when going to the Overland Expo from San Antonio, but have never seen the mountains with snow, since it’s May. Really nice little park.
  16. Hope you get on the Wait List. I’d like to check out your Elite 1. It pretty much filled out last Saturday.
  17. Interesting stuff. Just out of curiosity are all your posts just re-postings of a blog somewhere?
  18. From another post, I picked up hand warmers from Northern Tool and will stick a couple in with the batteries and the outside shower for our two day deep freeze event here…and have the furnace at 40F.
  19. Thanks... I'll check again, John has me wondering if my slide might not be coming all the way out. If so, probably due to cable length. Hold-down brackets or cables cover the indicators and/or the caps in a few cases. All manageable, just a hassle.
  20. I know most discussion are on AGM and Lithium, but my May 2020 Elite II came with wet cell batteries. It stays plugged in at home when not on the road. The batteries have an indicator window, but it is only visible for the outmost left batteries. In order to check fluid level I would have to disconnect all wiring and pull all four batteries. Is it reasonable to assume that if the battery indicator window I can see shows good levels, I'm likely OK on the others? For those of you using wet cell, what kinda of maintenance have you done after two years? Most usage is RV/State parks with electricity, but I expect at least five days of Boondocking in May, with solar. I may outsource a Lithium install to Mike (Moderator), but likely not soon. 😉
  21. The little springs that trigger the lights on/off are problematic and can be causing current loss. When they work, they are nice, but even Service isn’t a fan of them. I have two spares. 😉
