  1. We don't even have our ollie yet, and I'm already making plans to change out the sink. Love what you've done here....and I hope that between the two of us, @MarkV and I have the skills to get this done. (He's in charge of cutting the fiberglass, though....) mb
  2. Perfect. Short enough for my short self, but tall enough for my old self.
  3. OMG. I was just telling hubby Mark about this transfer "trick" to help us extend our boondocking ways. Will definitly also make sure neither of us gets distracted AND that we modify/extend the vent hose so it can reach the shower pan. Ugh. Just Ugh. Thank you for sharing!
  4. Exchanged emails with Foy today and we've decided to wait until I can pull exact dimensions from the '22, just in case. We have a Nature's Head in our current van, mounted on a pull-out tray, and even my 5'11" husband finds the height challenging. For this modified Potty Squatty, with your notches, what is the distance from the top of the wooden stool to the top of the toilet seat? Thanks, mb
  5. We're placing an order with @Foy_Mirna this week. "Hint, hint" says the 5'3" soon-to-be Oliver owner! 🙂
  6. I love the net idea and have friends who have a ton of them in their rPod. I've done a bit of digging on the forums, though, and can't find whether people use standard screws (like the ones that come with the nets) or something else to fasten to the fiberglass. I want to make sure that I don't screw something up! Can you tell me what you've used here? Thanks! mb
  7. Thanks for that very thorough answer....AND it never even occurred to me that the Li batteries wouldn't be recharged by the TV. Definitely something we will have to keep in mind. We generally don't go more than a day or two here in CO without sun, but it does happen, and our travel plans include some not-so-sunny places!
  8. I read your blog post on the US Water filtration system. Are you using this as a "whole house" filtration system, or just in-line to the sink faucet? Do you have details on where in the Ollie this system can fit? We have a similar system in our current sprinter van, and LOVE having fresh, good-tasting water at the ready. Thanks!
  9. Thanks, Bill. May I ask what gauge sheet metal you used? Imagine too thick, and the dinette seat might be affected. EDIT: OOps! Just saw your other post! mb
  10. I'm hoping that someone with the Lithium package will chime in on the feasibility of running the fridge on 12V while in transit. When we had our old travel trailer, I'd put a small bag of dry ice in the fridge just before departure, then turn the fridge off. Only if we were planning to be on the road for more than 90 minutes, or if it was unusually hot. Otherwise I would just pack the fridge with some frozen items and/or a few ice packs, and hit the road.
  11. Hoo Boy...this post brings back some memories. Friend and I were camping in Moab in the 90s, back when you could still disperse camp just about anywhere. Set up our tent about 15 feet from the edge of a canyon. Did our best to stake it out, but we were camped on rock and there were only the flimsiest of trees nearby. So....we loaded our tent up with all of our gear, including the camp kitchen to give it some extra weight. Bet you can guess where THIS is going.....Yep! Went to town for dinner, and when we returned - nothing! Every last bit of our camping gear had blown into the canyon, about 200 feet below. Fortunately, there was an established jeep road right below, so we got a hotel for the night and then hiked in 2.5 miles to retrieve our stuff.
  12. Curious what you store in the tote, and what you keep in the rest of the space in the basement. We pick up in less than 2 months. Things I definitely want to store here: The trailer and bike tool boxes, Electric cords and hoses, and anderson levelers, orange blocks. Trying to think of things that we definitely need to bring, but don't necessarily use every trip - THAT is what I would store in the tote...
  13. Thinking the same thing! If only I were handy....
  14. In the same boat, with a delivery date in December. I'd love to hear what you put on your list. We have a "generic" toolkit that we've brought from camper to camper.
  15. Just saw this. We are on the front range, in Bouler. The Ollie we toured was in Fort Collins.
  16. No more storage box? We were hoping to use a breville toaster oven instead of the microwave in our '22. 😞
  17. Yay! And it sounds like you have some fantastic trips planned already. We went to Custer a couple of summers ago and really enjoyed it. On our way from CO, we stopped over for a few nights at Glendoe State Park in WY, then headed south from Custer and spent the night at the Wildcat HillsState Recreation Area. Sweet little gem with some fantastic, if short, trails. You'll have a ball...and come December, your Ollie will have another CO sibling. mb
  18. I've been lurking around these boards for a few months, and am thrilled to announce that we have put our deposit down on a Elite II Twin model. It'll be a model year 2022, with a delivery date of 11/29/21. Can't wait...now to pick out a truck color! MaryBeth
  19. Agreed. But then, I wouldn't put my babies on a rack on the back of the Ollie anyway. They will live in or on the tow vehicle. MaryBeth Specialized Diverge Pro Specialized SWorks Ruby Liv Pique Advanced 2 🙂
  20. Good to know, and as I suspected. The van is black and not nearly as well insulated as an Ollie. Looking forward to a little more "wiggle room" re: the dogs than we have now!
  21. I use this in our Sprinter. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1OPOZB/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_porHFbQRBV7JV The van is black and heats up like you wouldn't believe without the AC running. The only downside to the Temp Stick is that you need to have access to cell signal because it relies on wifi to transmit temperature data. And even if you camp with some signal (and have a cellular modem), it doesn't do you any good if where you are going without the pups puts you out of cell range....that happens all the time on some of our cycling adventures, so it isn't a Fail-Safe system. In reality, when we are out of cell range, we don't leave the dogs in the van unless it is parked 100% in the shade and we can leave the windows open and the Maxx air fan going. If someone has a better system I'd love to hear about it.
  22. I learned about the Avenza maps app when I cruised out to Pawnee National Grasslands this spring. I wanted dispersed camping, but the local forest service office was closed due to COVID. Thankfully, they pointed me to free forest service maps on Avenza. They show in great detail what areas are open to dispersed camping. If you can boondock, dispersed is the way to go in the west. https://www.avenzamaps.com/mobile-maps?campaignid=10221828697&adgroupid=102940455500&adid=453328850375&gclid=CjwKCAjwlID8BRAFEiwAnUoK1e_S1UVHaVpOOzhKxzPx9ByrWrbkUypIRjAtl3ENXqNyFO9sRcFw9RoCI58QAvD_BwE There's an app for that!
  23. Oh! I do miss fireflies. Grew up in Massachusetts, but I've been a colorado girl for nearly 30 years now. Wouldn't go back, but there are definitely things I miss.
  24. That just sounds like an excuse to buy lighter bikes! 😀
  25. 2020 has been quite a year. Thinking of you and your state today...
