I have a older Black and Decker Air Station (my model 9527 can be bought used on e-bay for $49.00) and has worked great for me. I think the new Black and Decker air stations would preform well and are not expensive.

Bryan: When I was in the market for a RV, I looked first at the Elite. I thought that would be what I would buy until I saw the Elite II. I would suggest that you look at a Elite II prior to Oliver starting production. You may change your mind. Even though you have your order into Oliver, that is just a place holder in production. You could change to the Elite II if you decide to. The Elite II is obviously a little longer, but has a lot more inside storage space for both food (with the pantry) but also for your belongings. I find it better fit for extended camping trips. You could use John's idea of a front trailer hitch to move the Elite II into you yard. I also find that the Elite II with the double axle is easier to back up then my single axle trailers. Either way, you have an order into one of the best RV's manufactured and the best customer service company.

roguebooks Thanks for posting this issue. As soon as I finished reading the post, I went out to my 2018 Elite II and checked to see if the connections were tight, which they were. Attached is pictures of my transfer switch, which is a Series 5100 switch. When you get the new one, let us know if the wire connectors are different then on our transfer switch.

Not sure where you got your information of $50K in 2020 for an Elite II, but that is not correct. (Maybe it was the Elite I price.) Looking at my Oliver trailer receipt, I can tell you that for my 2018 Oliver Elite II, the base price was $54,100,00, not including the main options I have on my trailer. Therefore a 2020 Elite II must have been higher and therefor your % increase is also not correct.

Hi Katjo: I and Maniac and a number of other owner's in Maine keep our Olivers outside and do not cover them. Our average snowfall along the coast is 50" to 70" and inland is 60" to 110" in Maine. Along the coast where I live, we can get a storm that drops 10" or more in one day. I do not remove my AGM batteries and the solar panels always keep the batteries at or near 100%. Although not necessary, if the snowfall is over 8", I will brush the snow off the solar panels just so they start charging sooner. If it is less than 8", I let the snow melt off the panels. It will melt after a couple days. I have not seen any sign of UV degration of the gelcoat with my 2018 Elite II (sun is not that strong in the north). I do wash and apply 2 coats of wax in the spring, wash it as needed in the summer and install one coat of wax half way through the summer. In the fall, as part of winterizing the water system, I will wash and wax the Oliver. I used to put a cover on my 34' Luhrs sportfisherman as well as a 24' T-Top boat and it was a hard task as the cover was heavy not easy to move around. If you buy a cover for your Oliver you will need to provide a protection (and secure the protection) on the sharp edges as Patriot suggested above. Now that I am older, I would not consider a cover as they are not necessary. Maybe different where he sun is stron and there is a lot of smog. Hope this information helps you in making a decision.

If interested, I have this brand new exterior shower faucet for sale. Still in original box. I bought it for a previous camper but did not install it as I sold it and bought by Ollie. PM me and we can discuss selling and shipping.

I agree with all the comments above. I will only add that the Oliver trailers are very good at holding their value and used Oliver's are selling for near their new cost.

That is funny. When I was in college and I had got a infuse of some new money from Dad, I would take my laundry to a place that washed, dried and folded and next door was a bar (to kill the time, have a drink and read one of my text books). I usualy did my own laundry though as I was penny pinching most of the time so I could buy some beer. Yes there are places that still fold your laundry. I know of a couple of places in the City of Portland that do that.

I have been researching the difference between the WiFiRanger SkyPro V1 (which I have) and the WiFiRanger SkyPro V3 which I can buy. I contacted WiFiRanger and asked about the difference and did not get a good answer. They said the newer V3 allowed for the most up to date firmwear to be installed but did not say what the differences are. (they do not like to give much informaotin as they are now selling a newer model.) Does anyone know what enhancements the V3 might have over the V1?

Stock mattresses using a wool topper
dewdev replied to John and Debbie's topic in General Discussion
I love my KTT mattress. It is as comfortable as the mattress we have at home. Here in the Northeast it is humid in the summer and not in the winter. I reallly recommend the hypervent under the mattress (amd even the cushions at all time particularily those times that are humid. I bought my hypervent on line, cut it to size and installed it myself. We also have a small dehumidifier which I use in the summer months. -
Any one traveling up US 1 in Maine this summer?
dewdev replied to dk791's topic in General Discussion
If you want to see an Elite II, then PM me and we can arrange for you to see mine. I am in Falmouth, Maine -
First Priority/Suggestion: Check the hardware as John Davis suggested Second Suggestion: Use three Anderson buckets like what Frank C suggested or something equivalant so the stabilizing jacks are not traveling so far to support the trailer. I use the Anderson buckets and have had no real rocking problems. Third Suggestion (if you want added insurance against rocking): Use the X-Chocks as suggested by Patriot. I use them when I am staying in one location for more than 1 day and the Oliver is then rock solid. Happy camping and welcome to the Oliver family.

It may just be my slow house WiFi and may not reflect everyones condition. Others may find it works fine at a CG. The owner's manual does state that the Ranger may not connect to some WiFi's.

I finally got my WiFi Ranger connected to the internet afer working on it off and on for five days trying all kinds of configurations. Thanks to Ray Kimsey and David (GraniteStaters) for your assistance in the correct way to connect. I was not able to connect to my slow house WiFi internet (provided by my phone company). I also tried to connect to a "Open" web site that the Ranger found and that did not work. For my third try, one of my neighbors let me try their medium speed cable WiFi, but that also did not work. For my 4th try my other neighbor, who had a fast cable WiFi, the WiFi Ranger immediately connected. Now I know that my WiFi Ranger works. The other lesson I learned about the WiFi Ranger company is that they are very slow in returning phone calls. They are very fast if you go to their Support page and open a trouble ticket, which I did as I wanted to update the WiFi Ranger firm wear. I got an answer to my trouble ticket within 2 hours. That is pretty fast in getting a responce. I responded the the tech's e-mail and asked him to call me back as I had some other questions. He called back within a couple of hours and I asked him a bunch of questions including why I could not connect to 3 sites, but I could to the faster one. He could not provide a good answer as he did not know the WiFi configuration and speed of the failed locations. Good lessons learned here on how to communicate with the WiFi Ranger company.

Plumbing upgrades with SharkBite fittings
dewdev replied to Nick R.'s topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Nicky: Did you reuse the valves and the PEX tubing on either side of the valves? When you removed the PVC elbows, was the PEX tubing the correct length when installing the brass sharkbit fittings? -
Some people here have removed the insert in the Oliver receiver that then makes into a 2" receiver but that leaves for very thin walls on the remaining 2" receiver. You could remove (unbolt) the 1.25" receiver and buy a 2" receiver but then you need to figure out how to attach the 2" receiver. I had a welder weld ears on either side of the new steel receiver and then drilled new holes to mount the receiver on the frame. I used some small backer plates under the frame for the bolts to go through. Then painted the steel receive with a silver paint to match the frame.

Ray: Thanks for posting the Ranger pages. My Ranger is in a 2018 Oliver, so it is a little older (based on the Ranger ID #) but the pages are essentially the same as the ones you posted. I did make one change on the WiFi tab to match what yours had. I then went back to the Maine Tab and hit connect (on the left side) next to my home WiFi name. When I did that the message under the green Internet tab said "Searching". After awhile it change to "Off Line" so it is not picking up my home WiFi even though it is a strong signal. Thinking that the Ranger did not like my WiFi for some reason I changed to a different Network with a "Open" designation from somewhere near me. Same result, with that one as it tried to "Search" and then went to "Off-Line". Kind of frustating, but thanks for your assistance. At least I know I am using the correct procedures.

Ray: Yes I am able to get to the Control Panel and have tried to connect to my home internet. It keeps failing. I have sorted using the Core as well as the SkyPro with no sucess when clicking on the "Connect" button.
-
Ray: Thanks for the information on the #5 light being normally on. That eliminates one more question I have. I think my next step is to set the Ranger back to the factory settings, try starting it up again and if that does not work then wait for a call back from Ranger people to try and figure out what is wrong.

Having difficult time twisting off sewer cap
dewdev replied to Sak's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I also find it dificult to get the sewer cap off. I find that it helps to use two hands and it twists off easier.
