  1. I have polished my past boats with Starbright wax and now the Ollie with Meguiar's wax; both very similiar products. I find that them to go on very easy and once dry only needs to be whipped off. I have never tries paste wax which I understand needs to be buffed off with many use a power polisher. Does past wax really do a better job? Does past wax stop the dark water stains from occuring from water draining off the roof?
  2. People sometimes do not like to change to something new to them, like a composting toilet. Being somewhat of a nature person, I am glad to have my composting toilet. 1. Saves empting the ugly black water tank contents and using rubber gloves during that operation. 2. Empting the pee tank is not a problem for me. There is always a CG flush to pour it in or the CG dump station. 3. If you remember In the old days outhouses were the norm and the composting toilet is a outgrowth of that technology. 4. Saving fresh water is important. Look at those folks in the west desert areas. With the drought, they will be running out of water at their homes. 5. Only problem I have is using up the natural resource .... Peat Moss. I am glad I have the composting toilet. To make the wife happier (and myself), I purchased a wooden squatty potty step (which I modified to get it closer to the toilet) it is easier to have your feet on this instead of farther down on the shower floor.
  3. When I first got the Ollie, I used to raise the RV, when attached to the TV, with the trailer jack to put some slack in the chains as others have said above. This did not work all the time and I usually had to loosen the chains connected to the whale tale and then retighten the chains after hooking up. Now before hooking up to the trailer, I raise the trailer bull dog up high enough so I can back up (the 2" ball) past the bull connector of the trailer. This gives plenty of slack in the chains so I can hook up the whale tale with no problem. I then slowly drive the TV forward enough to when the chains are tight and I can then lower the trailer onto the 2" ball.
  4. I have a 7 pin plug holder mount on the front of the storage box which I do not use. The previous owner told me a no cost option. Tuck the 7 pin plug in between the fiberglass shell in front of the propane tanks and the frame of the trailer (the fiberglass shell is the one you can see in FrankC's picture.) This location works great, the plug stays in place and no moisture or water gets into the plug.
  5. I just found the classified ad. It is presently on the second page. Called Bits and Bobs, or something like that.
  6. If you are talking about the fiberglass cover over the propane tanks, someone was selling his. I thought it was on the Classified section but could not find it just now. You might check with one of the moderators to help you find it. Good Luck
  7. Yesterday I saw a single axle fiberglass camping trailer on the highway. It had no markings on it so I do not know the manufacturer. There was a seam down the middle of the trailer. (for a left and right section). Does anyone know the manufacturer of this trailer? Still love my Olliver though.
  8. I agree with John. When Oliver has it in stock, it should not effect the life span of the unit. The sensor life (which is what we are talking about) is based on when it is activated and actually sniffing the air.
  9. I put the Lagun table in the closet against the flat wall against the shower wall. I put two sets of velcro strips (on either side) to hold it in place. The support arm I place on the top shelf of the closet. Works fine. I changed the cushions for mattress so the cushions stay at home in storage, so I can not help there.
  10. Mike: I have a Weber Q1200. When you removed the regulator off the Weber Q what type of connection was left? i.e. What was the fitting at the end of the non-regulator hose that connected to the Weber? Richard
  11. John: Thanks for the picture. Now I know what I am looking for.
  12. I understand that there might be 2 anodes on the metal part of the trailer. I looked for them but could not find them. Can someone describe where they are located and maybe post a picture? Thanks Richard
  13. Today I was going through a list of equipment in my 2018 Elite II and writing down Model and Serial numbers. There were 2 pieces of equipment I was not sure of. 1. On the road side of the trailer (opposite the door side) under the twin bed was a piece of equipment marked as Xantrex PROwatt. I assume this was the inverter. Is that correct? 2. I am not sure what the Auto Transfer Switch looks like and where it is located? Can someone post a picture of the Auto Transfer Switch. Thanks Richard
  14. In my second O&M manual, which has all the component in it, I printed out a index for the book. In the index, I have placed model numbers and serical numbers.
  15. Harley Contact Oliver Sales and they will contact a owner in your area so you can set up a showing.
  16. In Maine, in no particular order: Arcadia National Park (very busy in the summer) on the Atlantic Ocean Mount Katahdin (end of the Appalacian Trail) in the Rangley Lakes Region Wells Beach (has a couple of CG's) and Old Ochard Beach (has multiple CG's) both close to the Atlantic Ocean beaches.
  17. From the pictures sent by Mossey, I am guessing that it could be either the USB 2.0 Standard-A or the USB 3.1 Standard-A. Monday I will call Furrion to see which USB they use, so I do not order the incorrect plug to switch from the Furrion to the memory stick.. I will pass on to all what they say. Thanks Mossey and SeaDawg.
  18. Mossey: Thanks for the link. I did do a search myself but did not find the one from ShallowGal. I also looked at the Oliver University TV video and in the Furron owner's manuel but neither solved the issue. ShallowGal's 2017 and my 2018 Ollie's apparently have the same model Furron TV and radio. (We do not have the TV Audio TV Speaker option to turn off the TV speakers.) ShallowGal's procedure of switching the radio Input Mode to "ARC" was the answer to getting the TV audio onto the radio. Simple one step procedure. Thanks Mossey. NEW Question: The radio has a USB connection on the front panel. The owner's manual does not say what size/series this USB connection is. I have a memory stick with music on it but the memory stick does not fit into this Furron USB connection. Does anyone know what USB connection size/series it is and how I would be able to connect my memory stick?
  19. I have been trying to program the TV to utilize the radio speakers. I went onto the Oliver University instruction site but the programming instructions given did not match the functions on my TV controls. I suspect that the Oliver University instruction was for a different model Furrion TV. I have a 2018 Oliver Elite II. Has anyone been able to have the TV audio come on the radio speakers and if so how did you program it? Thanks
  20. Greg: I do not agree with John about which trailer is best for you. The Elite 1 is the smaller single axle trailer and is best suited for only 2 people. You mentioned camping with kid and grandkids. The Elite 2 the larger two axle trailer is a little bigger. 3 people might be comfortable in this two axle trailer and could accomodiated more people during meal times depending on the trailer layout you purchase. Check out the Oliver web site and look at both trailer sizes and choose for your self on which size trailer works for you. John has a good point about rock protection of th efiberglass tailer (or using tow vehicle mud flaps) if traveling a lot on gravel roads. I would suggest you contact Oliver as they could tell you the location and contact information of the closest Oliver owner who could show you their trailer. Maybe there is some owners in Alaska already. Good luck in your search
