. The OP started the thread about trailer manufacturers installing economy trailer tires, but probably not Oliver. To confirm the OP's original post, tires that came on my LE2 Hull #75 were not economy tires. I did find the off road Cooper tires Mike installed to be nice looking tires. The street tires that came on Hull #75 LE2 from Oliver were BF Goodrich TA Commercial that were E rated street commercial tires. The tires I posted above were Cooper HTS E rated street tires, trying to match the tire quality that originally came from Oliver. As far as off road tires go, I prefer street tires. edited

Here's the Cooper tires we replaced original Commercial BF Goodrich tires with at Discount Tire. My goal was to use a tire close to what Oliver was using last year when they were replaced. Cooper Discover HT3 LT 225/75R/16 https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/cooper-discoverer-ht3 Thinking about installing wheels Oliver has been installing on Ollies lately, but have not done it yet. This is not the newest wheel mentioned earlier. https://www.lionsheadtireandwheel.com/Jaguar-Aluminum-Wheel edited

We installed new LT Cooper tires from Discount Tire with over 6 years on our original BF Goodrich Commercial 225/75R/16 tires, but believe the tread looks different compared to Mike's new tires. Need to drop by Ollie today, will take photos and get Cooper tire model. We have a smaller spare tire from Oliver 215/60R/16, maximum 44PSI, too. We could install a standard size spare tire on the wheel since we keep Ollie's spare in the pickup bed to keep Ollie's weight under 5000 pounds ready to camp along with other LE2 weight saving measures. Keep the wheel cover on Ollie for looks.

Ceramic coating on a new trailer
rideandfly replied to John and Debbie's topic in General Discussion
Been thinking about the ceramic coating process for Ollie, but decided to follow Bradger's advice in the following thread and purchase a dual action orbital polisher. We have always hand waxed our vehicles, boats, and Ollie. Going to practice on our 2003 Toyota Tacoma with the orbital polisher first, if that works out, the 2022 Tundra is next, and last will be Ollie. Been watching several Youtube videos by Drakes Detailing. -
Thanks for the informative video!

Generator consideration for the Elite II
rideandfly replied to Vic and Wanda Shumate's topic in General Discussion
Watching the charge rate @ 400W with the Victron app on our Lithium battery while charging with a 46 pound Honda EU2000i gen-set. Our Honda gen-set only has a continuous rating of 1600W, even though it's a 2000W gen-set. A 13.5K AC can use 1400 watts continuously, but (in our case) needs the Microair EZ start unit to start the 13.5K AC compressor. It would be easy to exceed the continuous rating of smaller gen-sets while charging and running another appliance at the same time. -
We used to tow with a 2016 5.7L Tundra 4X4 and could reach the pickup's GVW quickly with the LE2 Ollie connected. Here's a few post on page 6 of this thread for our new 2022 Tundra towing our LE2. So far no pickup modifications made with stock coil springs on the rear differential, but air bags would be a nice factory option.

We love to ride our motorcycle two-up on the BRP for day trips!

We camp mostly in NC on the BRP, and the LE2 tows easily. Pavement conditions are OK. Speed limits are mostly 35 or 45 MPH and most Federal BRP campgrounds in NC have certain sites set aside as walk up that cannot be reserved. That being said, I would still make reservations during fall when there are many folks traveling the area to see the fall colors that peak at different times depending on elevation. The Federal campgrounds in NC do not have electricity or water at the campsites. Since we don't have factory solar, we have a portable suitcase solar panel that's handy to reach out from shady sites. We also enjoy hiking to water falls not too far from the BRP. Using the Federal geezer card gives 50% off of camping fees. Here's some NC Federal BRP campgrounds: Doughton Park, Julian Price, Linville Falls, Mt. Pisgah, and Balsam Mountain Campground is over 5300' elevation, but also a nice drive from the BRP in the Smoky Mountain National Park. Reservations can be made on Recreation.gov https://www.recreation.gov/ If there is construction, it's posted on their website with detour information. https://www.nps.gov/blri/planyourvisit/conditions.htm Roaring Fork Falls is not far from the BRP: Sunset on the BRP:

Agree, We think the BRP is a National treasure! Fine photo!

We hope to go back during August, at 5,000' above sea level Mt. Pisgah has nice temps in the summer! Campsites for $10 per night with the geezer card. 👍

This morning we were towing Ollie on I40E just east of Black Mountain NC when a LE2 Ollie rig passed us! This Ollie had a University of Tennessee orange "T" on the front!

Beautiful Ollie and great looking campsite! We Love COE campgrounds!

We were heading south on I77 WV Turnpike yesterday, Sunday 5/22 at 4:25PM at MP 16 when we saw a LE2 rig heading north with an American Flag on the side of Ollie!

2003 2.4L Tacoma. Full disclosure, no sag with 30PSI in the air bags and it's a confidence builder for the Tacoma moving Ollie around the house!

Mike, Beautiful site! We love COE campgrounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This happened while camping at a State Park in Nebraska, guess this could be classified as meeting your neighbors. True story. When we set up in a new campground, I like to go for a walk checking out the campground, restrooms, and laundry if the campground has one. The campground was about 1/2 full and had already been told there was also a national camping group meeting there, too. When I tried to inspect the laundry room, the door was locked. After trying a couple times, saw a couple on the floor. They got up putting their clothes back on and opened the door apologizing to me. I told them no problem, sorry I bothered them. Told Debbie what happened and she said we wouldn't be using that laundry room to wash anything, will wait until we find another one. 🙂

On the trip where I got 13.8MPG towing on steep grades & interstates I divided total miles driven by gallons used. Did the same today when not towing with the on board computer displaying slightly lower MPG than actual MPG after dividing total miles by gallons burned yielding 24.5MPG. On the other two trips where I got above 15MPG and 16MPG while towing used the on board computer with slightly higher readings than mentioned. When we purchased Ollie used and towed it home with a 2013 2WD Frontier with 4.0L automatic, the onboard computer indicated over 15MPG while towing across TN on I40. I thought the on board computer was wrong until I divided miles driven by gallons used. We used to tow an all aluminum 2000 pound 2010 CampLite camper, a 2000 pound aerodynamic brick and could not get much over 13 MPG with this same Frontier. Our Ollie is a light LE2 Ollie at 4950 pounds ready to camp with empty tanks except for full hot water heater. Some folks here get better fuel economy than our rig with a diesel powered TV and heavier Ollie, probably some gas TV rigs, too. I am very careful with throttle control while driving, like I said earlier some folks can only get 15 to 16 MPG with the same Tundra not towing, it's how they are driven. Our Tundra is also 2WD.

Finished a round trip from North Carolina to Virginia and back today. Passed 5000 total miles on the odometer on the 2022 2WD SR5 Tundra not towing today. Traveled 608 miles using 24.8 gallons of fuel. 99% of driving on interstates with cruise set on speed limits of 60 & 65 and 70 MPH that was majority of driving today. Got 24.5MPG. The onboard computer said 24.3MPG and this Tundra has a 32 gallon tank. So far towing Ollie getting slightly better than 15MPG on interstates in TN around 65MPH not using cruise control allowing speed to slow slightly up hills and to gain slightly down hills using 6th, 7th, & 8th gears. Saw up to 16MPG at 50 to 55MPH on back roads in TN towing Ollie. Towed on grades up to 7 & 8% so far in NC using 45MPH in 5th gear @ 2400RPM up the steep grades. This leg of trip with interstate mixed in yielded 13.8MPG.

I'm dropping Ollie off at the Oliver plant for a few days, but not for electrical issues. 😁 Is there a favorite local place folks stay at when they don't have Ollie to camp with? Thanks, Bill Edit: Talked to Anita at Oliver and she gave me 3 places to stay!

Happy Mother's Day!

We really enjoy camping at COE campgrounds with the Geezer card discount. This campground is rural and not very far from Kentucky. A host told us about some good local places to eat, too. One fellow told us we were in the "retirement" section and the kids liked another part of the campground. We were on site 5 that is so low it will flood in the winter when there's heavy continuous rains.

We camped at COE Obey River Campground on Dale Hollow Lake TN. Nice campground for those that like bicycling, boating, fishing, and Kayaking.
