LoriL - Great for you guys and for your Oliver! Glad to hear that it was a good time and that Oliver Service helped you when needed. THAT sure is one heck of a campsite. I'm guessing that you didn't have much (as in none) of a problem with bugs - mosquitos have always been a big problem for me in that area 😬. Great pics too! Thanks for sharing. Bill

The city water intake anti-syphon valve froze/cracked. This was my fault in that I didn't hand-pump antifreeze into this area when I winterized. Remember that old saying of not letting yourself be interrupted in the middle a chore such as this? While it is a bit unusual for this area of the country (Western North Carolina in the mountains) it is not unheard of for the temps to get to the single digits and I'm sure that winter we had a couple of days with temps in that range.😥 Bill

Brake lights come on when disconnected from truck

JW - HERE is an example of the grease that is being talked about. I use a Q-tip to get down into the 7 way plug (pigtail). You don't want to gunk it up in there - just enough to put a very thin coating on the metal parts. No, I don't have one of those "fancy things" like Mike & Carol, Rivernerd, etc.. I simply loop the pigtail behind the jack and make sure that it is hanging in a downward direction. Bill p.s. One week to go! Have a great time! -

John - HERE is a link to the replacement jack cover I recently bought. There are a bunch of them out there to chose from. Bill -
Wow! Those things have really increased in price. I've got a little blue square fan and I don't think I paid $10 for it. I wonder if it has a gold plated switch or something - after all it really isn't anything but a simple electric motor, fan blades and a switch. Bill p.s. the main "issue" with that new fridge as far as I'm concerned is the size of the freezer. The new one is somewhat smaller than the old.

B in NC - I'm guessing that you will be like a fair number of us in being surprised by how much you can actually get into the Ollie fridge and/or how long it will last you. Unfortunately, in addition to the relatively small size of the fridge it is recommended to not stuff it full to the brim. These fridges tend to work better when there is enough room for air circulation inside the fridge.. In this regard - I always have a small fridge fan running in mine. March will be here before you know it! Bill (in Western NC)

Just about the only thing that turned me away from truck campers is the fact that every time I would want to go anywhere I'd have to "break camp" and then "re-set camp" when I returned. Of course, on the plus side is the fact that I'd have a place to take a nap or have lunch or take care of business or ....... with me at all times. Good luck on finding what makes your heart sing! WHAT? Where are those people that wanted a hot tub and helicopter pad last time we had this discussion?😇 Bill

I'm thinking that THIS is what he is talking about. Bill

GJ - I used just the Velcro but I did use a fair amount of it. Here is a pic of the back of the extinguisher. I've been down some fairly bad roads (perhaps I mean something other than interstates here😁) and it has never budged. Yes, those "carpet runners" make cleaning up a breeze. I used two 6 foot runners. That way they are easier to simply take outside and shake versus trying to deal with a single 12 footer.

SCL- There are a fair number of owners who have either replaced or simply applied their own graphic in various places on Olivers - mainly the front. There are a number of those that have posted both pictures and basic "how-to's" here on the Forum. I'd contact Service about getting a new set (I'm not sure that they do this anymore) and I'd also contact local print shops as to cost and availability. Hopefully owners with the newer style awnings will chime in here relative to your questions about rain. I have the old style awning that can be left up in light rain and I believe that even these newer awnings can be left up as long as you do not allow water to collect. The easiest way to do this is to only have the awning extended a small amount - (i.e. half way or less) - and I certainly would not leave mine extended overnight or when I was not there regardless of that wind sensor feature. Glad to hear that your trip home was good and very happy to hear that you have gain some knowledge and help from some of the threads here. Bill

Actual Dates of the 2023 Oliver TT Rally at Lake Guntersville, AL
topgun2 replied to hobo's topic in Events & Rallies
The only time that I know of when Oliver had "problems" delivering a trailer when promised was during the height of the pandemic. And, this was due to supplier issues - not under Oliver's control. Personally - I'd bet heavily on that April delivery.😃 Bill p.s. If you have not been there - this is one of the better - if not the best State Park I've ever been to. Plan on bringing your bikes, good walking shoes, camera and notebook. Never be afraid to approach ANY Ollie owner of even knock on their door if you have a question for them or see a mod that interests you. -
As per Google: Can you open a HEIC file on a Chromebook? At the top right, click “Upload,” select “Computer,” and find your HEIF/HIEC file in your Downloads folder(or wherever you saved it.) Upload the file and that's it. You should now see your full-resolution HEIC photo in Google Photos.Jun 10, 2022 Bill

Try THIS to get a map in your signature. Bill

Great looking Ollie resting comfortably in its very own bedroom. Nice trip too - glad to hear that there were no major issues. Welcome to the Family! Hope to meet you at the annual owner's rally in May. Bill
-
Absolutely untrue. Oliver does have a Marketing Department with Matt Duncan as its head. Remember that Oliver Travel Trailers is a relatively small privately held company. Many of Oliver's employees wear multiple hats such as compliance, quality control systems, IT, marketing, etc. I personally know that these people work very hard and actually care about Oliver and us (the customer). Try THIS for making reservations and getting more info on Lake Guntersville State Park. Around $30/night is the camping fee and I believe that there is a $5.00 fee for online reservations - but - you can always call them instead. If I were you - I'd call them and be sure to mention that you are with the Oliver Rally. There are sites that have been reserved for Oliver owners and hopefully all of them are not gone at this point. Another Forum member has one of those F-350's but I believe that his is diesel and a Tremor versus the King Ranch. Certainly more than enough truck to get the job done. Bill
-
I can tell you that they certainly do understand your point. There are a reasonable number of other things that tend to gum up the works and that is why this process has taken sooooo long. Bill
-
John makes a very good point. During the wait for your Ollie you should view as many videos as you can - some more than once. Visit the Oliver University often. Read what you can here on the Forum and ask questions about anything that is not clear to you. Add all of this to those projects that you already have going on and you will most likely find that all of a sudden you are sitting in Hohenwald and trying to absorb all the information they will give you. Enjoy the process! Bill

Well - There has been "rumor" of this very thing happening for at least the past three or four years. Unfortunately, due to a number of circumstances the "Ollie Store" is not open - yet. While getting annual service done last month (September, 2022) I had a discussion with a reasonably senior management employee of Oliver and they told me that "the final details are presently being worked out" and that the "store" should be open for business by the end of the year. Hopefully this will turn out to be true. Bill
-
Welcome to the Family (almost). What are you going to tow your new Ollie with? Have you made reservations for the annual rally yet - if not then I'd suggest that you look into getting a site reserved at Lake Guntersville, AL very soon. Bill

My money would be on a modification by a prior owner. The insulation is also interesting. Bill
