Replacing Xantrex Freedom XC Pro 3000W Inverter
CRM replied to Sak's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I've only used the fridge to store it since I'm worried it might affect the quality of the 5200 if it's frozen. I've heard others say it lasts indefinitely in the freezer though.. Edit- I also do the same with Dicor Lap Sealant and have one in my shop fridge that's over a year old now and still usable. -
Replacing Xantrex Freedom XC Pro 3000W Inverter

If you put 5200 into a ziplock bag and store in your fridge it will last more than 6 months without hardening. -
A good way to fish a wire between the hulls without damaging the insulation is to use a "ball chain". It usually finds it's way down on the first attempt just by jiggling up and down while letting weight of the chain do the work. I use one like this but without the large ring attached which I found has a way of getting snagged on things in tight areas. Ball Chain

Thanks! I now know what I'm asking Santa for this year.

Timken Wheel Bearings - USA manufacture.
CRM replied to BackofBeyond's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Yep, they're made in several countries these days, but are supposed to be to the exact same standards. Spoke to a Timken rep a while back when I was concerned that I had purchased counterfeit bearings and he told me that if I bought through a certified dealer they would be genuine and to not bother using the app to check the labels since it's next to useless. Also said if I wanted piece of mind to check the weight of the bearings and to make sure they match the specs in the their catalogue. Timken should be right on the money no matter where they're made and the counterfeits are usually off by several grams. Checked the ones I was concerned about and they all were exactly the same and matched the specs. Edit- I should also add that all but one the bearings I was questioning failed the label reading app, and the one that passed took 3 tries to do so. -
Unfortunately, I think the outside faucet was replaced by a prior owner. Pretty cheap looking all plastic unit that I plan to replace before our next trip.
-
Mine still look like brand new, and now I like the way that they work, too! I came very close to replacing them... glad I searched the forums first!

I know this a very old post, but I want to thank you for this info.. I've had my LE2 for a year and a half now and had no idea the bathroom faucet worked this manner to adjust between shower and sink use. Boy do I feel dumb! 🤣
-
Yes, I've found the wiring in my 2010 LE2 to be very mysterious myself. No manuals or wiring diagrams available for it either. So far, no issues with troubleshooting, though I do have a couple of switches that I have no idea what they control... I'll eventually get around to labeling all the wiring and building my own diagram.

A friend of mine just replaced bearings on a Nev-R-Lube axle with genuine Timken bearings bought from Summit for $50 each. Same part number on the bearing as OEM. Worth researching if needing replacements or backups.

Way too many products dependent on oil production for that to ever happen .. What will be interesting is what will become of the gasoline produced by the distillation process once the majority of gas vehicles are no longer on the road.. Wouldn't bet against it being used as fuel in power plants to generate electricity for our electric cars.. 😄

I used a heat gun and plastic razor blades to remove mine and it came off fairly easy. Used Goof Off to remove the adhesive residue.

These are the factory cushions we have.. They do have a rubberized waterproof backing on the inside so the cushions themselves never got wet when we were having condensation issues.
-
Wow! Have to wonder if this is even legal..
-
Love to have a fridge that size..
-
I have the original factory cushions. Says they're upgraded on the original invoice, though I have no idea what that means. All I know is they're pretty darn comfortable so I haven't felt the need to replace them.
-
Update- It's been 6 months now and I've had absolutely no issues with moisture or condensation forming under the mattresses. Left one of my dinette cushions without this underlayment as a test and found moisture under it at least 6 times during that same time. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a low cost Hypervent alternative..

Was leaning that way but got talked out of it by a couple of friends with more experience than I. Hope they're right!

4 year old Hercules ST225/75R15's. Don't know what caused it but the Belts are definitely torn. The tire is deforming near the cut and is slightly out of round too.
-
No TPMS, though I probably should use them.. I just check them at each fuel stop. I'm getting to the stage where I want less electronic gadgets and motors in my life. 😄 Shopping them now, but leaning towards the Goodyear Endurance in ST225/75R15 based on reviews.
-
I'm obsessive about staying on top of pressures and doing visual inspections of each tire before, during and after every trip and today it paid off. Not sure if it was caused by a defect in the tire or by running over something, but going to stick with my OCD and change all 4. Inspect your tires frequently!

2023 LE II Trailer Weight (Dry), all Oliver options, empty
CRM replied to JDAstroPhoto's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for this info. I have the 5200's and have wondered why it was still rated for 7000lbs. -

Definitely makes it easier to upgrade to disc brakes, though not sure it's worth it performance wise. I have 5.2k axles under my LE2 and braking performance is excellent, even when loaded near capacity. -
Something has to give.. The average American can't afford a 1k per month payment for a pickup truck.
