  1. I wonder if they would agree to prewire for an additional charge if you didn't want the solar package?
  2. No, I don't think she was aware of this forum at the time and was using RV Trader, Fiberglass RV's for sale and FB marketplace for her searching. She was actually more interested in a Bigfoot at the time and I'm thankful she found our Ollie first.
  3. My wife found our Ollie on the FB Oliver's for sale page.
  4. Never go anywhere without my SPOT tracker.
  5. We use a similar setup for when we can't hang things outside but use these vacuum mounts instead- 4.5″ SeaSucker They hold up to 120lbs and we also use them between our Ollie and TV when the weather is nice enough for outside drying.
  6. When that happens it usually means that you've been blocked from the page.

  8. Yes, I'll post more pics soon once I have all the wiring and switches complete. I made the penetration just underneath the awning bracket directly above the porch light near the door.
  9. Just finished up adding some curbside LED lighting to our Ollie and we're more than happy with the results. To begin this project I painted two 8' sections of 3/8 x 1/2 aluminum C-Channel in white epoxy paint, and then once dry, used 1/2" 3M VXB tape to attach the channel to just below the rain guard weather stripping under the awning. Once that set, I installed 2 IP65 weatherproof LED silicon neon strips into the channel. We decided on one white and one blue but these strips are also available in several other colors if desired. Tried to talk the wife out of blue since I'm afraid it will attract too many insects, but she put her foot down and said she wanted blue and only blue 😄.. I fully expect to be replacing that blue strip with yellow at some point down the road, though. It's a decent friction fit once both strips are installed in the channel but I put a dab of silicon in the channel every couple of feet just for piece of mind. From there I ran the wires down through a new penetration just under the awning bracket above the porch light, sealed it with Dicor and connected them to a SPDT rocker switch. I will most likely be adding a dimmer to the circuit since the lights are much brighter than expected. All in all, very happy and I think it came out better and cleaner looking than the off-the-shelf options I was looking at. These strips emit a nice neon-like glow instead of the individual "dot" look most other LED strips have . Hope this helps anyone else looking to do something similar. I'll add more pics and parts links once I'm happy with the final switch/dimmer setup. C-Channel LED light strip 3M 1/2" VXB tape
  10. Trying to keep everything as original as I can. Luckily just found some cabin lights to replace all of the originals which also had the chrome peeling off of them. Actually, an Oliver FB group member who's a better Googler than I found these for me. Had the part number but could only find them in bronze and black..
  11. The chrome finish is failing on all of my marker lights and I would like to replace with the same if possible to keep from drilling extra holes. Does anyone know who manufactured these lights?
  12. I thought they moved back to 15" tires?
  13. Goodyear Endurance ST's are rated to 87mph. Faster than I ever plan on towing...
  14. Spent last weekend at a supposedly sold out Anastasia State Park in St Augustine where at least 30% of the spots were empty. Maybe charging double for people who cancel less than a week out or just don't show at all would help?
  15. Bought one new in 97 and passed it down to two other family members. Over 350k and still running great with no issues when it was sold. Never had to do anything other than routine maintenance, batteries, brakes and tires. Still had the original clutch in it too!
  16. Summit Racing is a good place to source genuine Timken bearings.
  17. For the life of me I can't understand why Toyota won't build 1/2 ton trucks with higher payload capacities.. and why no 3/4 ton or diesel, or V8 option anymore? My 2002 Tundra might only have a 7200lb towing capacity, but it has a payload of 1975lbs and doesn't need air bags or suspension mods to sit level while towing my Oliver.. Only use it for towing within a few hours from home at the moment, but will need a new tow vehicle soon for extended traveling. I haven't owned anything but Toyota's for 30 years and it pains me to even think of buying a GM, Ford, or Ram vehicle, especially at current prices.
  18. I was talking about the backing plate to axle tube, not the lug count.
  19. You can climb under and count the bolts from the backside of the backing plate, no need for disassembly.
  20. I went through this myself a while back.. Check how many bolts you have on the axle flange. If 5 bolts it's a 5200lb axle. while 4 bolts is 3500lb.
  21. I get about the same gain while sitting at the dinette. Sometimes an additional bar if I hold it close to the booster antenna.
  22. Same here. Only issue I have is the chrome plating is failing on the bathroom light. I assume replacements for these aren't available anymore?
  23. I feel lucky to own one, though it does come at the expense of non ducted heating and reduced galley storage.
  24. Maybe I got lucky, but it worked for me the first try while installing new coax and an HDMI cable for an outside TV. I also only have the lizard skin insulation and not the Reflectix type which might have given me some extra space to work with?
  25. You should try it next time you have some leftover from a project. I think you'll find that once brought back to room temp it sets just as fast and bonds just as strong as new from the tube does. It's an old marine industry trick that's been used for decades. I still don't feel comfortable using it after freezing, though I think I'll try it with one of the tubes I have now just for kicks. Personally, even if I had to toss the leftover, I would still use 5200 over JB Weld to bond something to fiberglass in one of our trailers. JB cures way too brittle when applied thin for my taste and I'd be worried if it would stand up long term to all the vibrations, flexing and jolts it will receive from going down the road
