I want to thank everyone who wished us well. Also, congratulations to all Oliver owners with anniversaries from near 10 to almost 50 years! I had a great Father's Day too and wish the other fathers and grandfathers here the same. Adam and I played Crokinole late into the night. He had a high score of 110 in one game and during another game, I hit 4 20s (placing in the center hole) and he had 3. We ended Chris' "Birthday week" with a night at Essence Kitchen! Go figure, fine dining in of all places Chino Valley AZ!

Lot less value without a solar package, or at least pre-wired. I read at some point they stopped pre-wiring when solar was not purchased. On the other hand, if you are only going to hook-up then no solar could save you money. Batteries less important since LiFePO has gotten much cheaper. I would not have purchased ours last year without this upgrade and we got a very good used price from a prior owner who lives in our hometown and delivered it to our driveway with cash-in-hand!

Us too and after a short local September trip it will be 3 weeks in October for us in NM and TX with Inks Lake being the focal point for week two. High was in the 90s yesterday, low of 58 at dawn and the forecast is only up to 85 today. Maybe cool is on its way east. It was very hot here last week. Last year we purchased our Oliver on June 7. By early July a dozen friends had asked, "have you gone camping?" Decided to venture out in July just to get out in our new Oliver, and of course just when it was getting hotter. Decided on Kendricks Mountain Wilderness area northwest of Flagstaff, the peak is 10,427 FT and we camped at over 6800 FT. It was just cool enough at this altitude. A cooler June day in Phoenix today at 105 and any direction we drive from home gets hotter before we get high or north enough to be cooler. We get to camp all winter when many of you have your Olivers in winter storage. I'm good with being home summers at 5400 FT and we play pickleball indoors! I'm starting 3 weeks off today with more Oliver repairs and mods to come soon. See many of you at Inks Lake! Four months will be here in a heartbeat...

You’re welcome and hope all you need is a reset. Yeah, I remember the 1-2 days off thing. That’s got to be BS. Capacitors lose charge in minutes or an hour at most! When somebody gets on the phone with Xantrex we need to someday learn a realistic reset procedure. If I was stuck in the AZ backcountry and mine was not working, I’d find a faster reset! Something like disconnect the battery ground, wait 10 min, jump the inverter +/- DC cables, to drain all capacitance and reconnect. My bet is this works, not waiting a day. Best wishes. @Derek B We have our original 2KW Xantrex and it works great, never a sound and as Mike wrote runs the MW, electric tea kettle, a blow-dryer, etc. Sorry, do not remember the reset procedure because I have never needed it, but just search for 'Xantrex' as I remember reading how to in the last 6 months or so. The great Johnny Carson had a saying, "Use it or lose it!" (Though he was referring to something quite different!) I run ours almost every day I'm in the Oliver, like just to have the TV on while I'm working on something. We only plug in during summer to run AC, and I just ordered a transfer switch so that with other upgrades we can run the AC on inverter too. I often stay at campsites, when it's only a night or two, and do not bother connecting to shore power and water since we have enough of both with us. I suggest when you get yours reset or fixed that you start using it, and be practiced with it, for the time you get stuck w/o shore power.

I've been running mine daily lately, since I'm inside the Oliver lately on hot afternoons working on a kitchen faucet leak (done), rerouting furnace ducts (almost done) and other installations. The only good feature of this model is that on AUTO it will quit when down to temp, and for us out here that means it stays off all night and only runs a lot in the afternoons, set at 84 when I'm not inside. Ours is getting to 9-years old now and we get the same "high pitched screams" on rare occasion. Is it really worth back-up capacitors and a new fan motor? Ours will be replaced before we travel this fall with a brand new non-Dometic product, most importantly something very QUIET!!! We have only spent one overnight with the AC on and that was enough. Noise-reduction headphones to watch TV and when the unit finally caught up and turned off for a while, I was able to fall asleep!

Finished up the bathroom vanity yesterday. I had a supply of 1/4" u-clips but the fiberglass is quite thick at the opening and decided that would be too much work, the placement must be extremely accurate. I merely used thin panhead wood screws with no taper. Measured with a digital caliper to drill just the right size holes. Added a SS washer so the screw head would not drag on the plastic. Thoroughly cleaned off all the old caulk and sealant. Wrong time of year. We are under severe fire restrictions in the Prescott NF! 🤣 The ground here is also too rocky. We need the walk-behind trimmer where those who live east would have a lawn mower.

I just do it myself. Chris has enough indoor work and she's staining the deck now! (After I sprayed deck cleaner and pressure washed.) In 45 minutes with the Stihl, I can do all the edges on our 3/4 acre. I would hate to use a week battery-operated trimmer. We don't grow grass in Arizona, just weeds in the spring and fall (after monsoon season). The large areas I hit with something like this! YARDMAX 22 in. 170cc Gas-Powered 4-Stroke Push Lawn String Trimmer/Mower at Tractor Supply Co.

For those of us who use RUUVi, why not just mount one of these in the fridge? We put one in there when traveling, but when home it monitors my garage temp which is always too hot with southern exposure. Love the one placed above our Dometic thermostat since the dumb thing only shows set temp! (always set at 84 Auto when parked in the summer months.)

It's hard to believe installers do this, yet they do. It's sooooo LAZY to leave the plug in the tank. When the tank is new and dry and all they have to do is reach in and remove the cut-out. Just NO work-ethic. This happened on the gray tank in our Bigfoot. The only way it would drain, prior to major surgery, was to drive down an AZ dirt road with the gray valve open. You can see it emptying upon acceleration. I would not suggest this with the black drain! Try @Geronimo John's suggestion, then call the septic company, unless you want all the black on you and your property.

Milwaukee used to be great, made in USA back in the day. Not any longer and they were stuck on 12V when Dewalt was 18V. I had 5-6 Dewalt 18V tools and sold them all on Craigs 3 years ago, now on the 20/60V series. Maybe Milwaukee beats Dewalt on a tire inflater, maybe. Personally, I've never owned a battery-operated tire inflator. Prefer using a real compressor at home and in a rare case when needing air on the road, we just run by a tire shop. We're not the deflate/inflate off-road types where you really need one. Many Dewalt tools are built in USA, some in Mexico, and all with "internationally sourced parts." Most others are 100% China. Can Milwaukee do this with a 20/60V battery? I think not. Those of you who have service centers do installations and service work for you, OK… Not me, my trailer my install. What happens when you have no AC or no HWH 600 miles and 5 weeks out on the service calendar of an Authorized Truma Service Center? Nothing, is the answer. Your consolation is it’s not Dometic cr@p. On a 1/4 turn valve it should turn 90 degrees by hand, w/o requiring pliers. If you are sure you are in the 90-degree range, use your pliers and move it hard and quickly back and forth, stop to stop. There could be sediment in there. If you cannot free it up nicely, replace it with a higher quality valve. Or be removing the valve maybe it can be cleaned up inside. Hope this helps!

So true, when used with ample water per flush and not stored with solids. When you flush the back, it should be refilled a couple times until the drain water is clear. If you are CERTAIN the valve is open, yes this is the next step, YUK. I would try connecting the black drain at a dump station and snake from the toilet down. This is less messy, but you need professional snake tools to push through solids make the 90 and locate the 3" hole at the bottom back of the tank. Try calling local septic companies! And before they refuse this kind of job, offer to pay a premium for their help. They have the tools. They also have drain hoses that produce suction. Sorry @NomadLife for your cr@ppy situation.

This shelf with magnet set for mounting came to about $95 total. We store it upside down in the attic (fits nicely) when watching TV and sleeping. Towing it can be on or off. On a similar theme I installed these shelfs on both sides. Wanted the area behind for a bolster and pillow. These are out of the way of all movement and everything you need is right in front of you. Also wanted room for a book and must have a drink or water bottle. They have worked out great! The TV remote even stays put sitting on the shelf when towing. Nothing wrong with Cooper. Many have them here for TV and TT. We have them on our GX, the AT model and they don’t pick up stones. Must say I like the tread on these Wildpeaks, 5 ribs 4 grooves should track nicely. Will give them a good look next time we need tires. Thx

@csevel You’re welcome Claudia! I’m just happy I came up with the idea, was able to help, and being up after midnight is the usual case for me. The point was getting you on the road today. Personally, I’m not much for suggested maintenance procedures. I work mine my way and certainly have used my “thinga-ma-giggy” in several RVs always at 40+ PSI. Hate the pink stuff, always blow air. BTW, you can always run air pressure up to the rating of your water pump PSI. My upgraded water pump is variable speed at 65 PSI, 10 over OEM. Many would worry, but I prefer its performance and it has served us well. Best wishes! Have a great trip, post pics! 🤣
