Water leaking from bolt

Recommended Posts

If you see water dripping from this bolt under the front center of your trailer look for a leak under the bathroom sink

IMG_4090.thumb.jpeg.01e3af90e724f557093cebcc405d009b.jpeg

In my case it was a split in the sink tailpiece. The split was on the side not visible so I didn’t find it until I removed the tailpiece.

I couldn’t find this style of tailpiece at any of my local hardware places including Lowe’s because most tailpieces are made for sinks with built in overflows. I finally found a tailpiece that would work at a place that had an old supply of mobile home parts. It was plastic instead of metal but it worked great. I will order another tailpiece, either this one or a metal one, to put in my parts box.

Installed pictures. The stopper is better than the rubber plug used before

I cannot understand why the factory puts that fixed caddy under the bathroom sink. Sure, it’s no problem to remove and replace, but the fiberglass won’t stand the removal and reinsertion of the screws many more times. And when you remove, replace, and recaulk the caddy you have to wait until the caulk cures enough before you can use the shower. I will be installing a marine deck hatch in its place.

I forgot to mention that while you have the caddy off take a few seconds and straighten out your faucet head hose.

And - while you are under there -

it might be a good idea to put some insulation on those water lines.

Insulation on the hot line will help keep the water hotter and insulation on the cold line ( and hot) will help prevent freezing of the lines in below 30 degree weather.

Agree….exactly what I did, using 3M Thinsulate SM600L and 1/2” foam pipe insulation!😊

@rich.dev is this the bathroom heat duct? Is the factory using this now or is this something that you have used to replace what the factory used?

Wow, new Ollies have insulate water lines.  Also, a lot more stuff in the way of the Bathroom Vanity door mod.  😞

Is the shape of the door "teardrop" or is that just camera parallax?

The shape of the door has not changed - it must be whatever a "parallax" is 😁.

And, the lines are still not insulated at Oliver.  A number of owners (to include the provider of the pic) have insulated their lines like this.

Thanks Bill.

I really suggest that OTT consider upgrading the bathroom vanity area as MaxBurner documented last year.  With a little bit of engineering, the cabinet space could be provided without much cost and with great benefit to future owners!

Art:  Would be worth sending in your Mod info to OTT in the form of a Service Ticket.  That way it for sure will be discussed and consided by their Leadership Team.  I'll be packing a door this summer!   🙂

@Geronimo John like @topgun2 said, the shape of the door has not changed, and I added the 3M Thinsulate 600 and 1/2” foam pipe insulation. As far as I’m concerned the reflectix on the inside of the bottom outside hull is pretty much useless as a good insulator, so I have added Thinsulate pretty much everywhere within reach on the inside of the bottom outside hull, including the well documented cold area behind the garage and battery and garage doors.

See this post…..

I wonder when they started using PVC instead of ABS for the drain pipe?

Sure - but - I still don't know what a "parralax" is!

And that door is still shaped oddly! 😁

I believe the GJ was referring to the keystone effect rather than parallax.

Wow you must be photography buff.  You are correct.  I try to keep them

"simplized"  (Yea that is another GJ concocted new word) as:

  • The Keystone effect is when lines converge with distance.
  • Parallax on the other hand is when an object appears differently when viewed from two different points when in motion.

The picture of the cabinet door has a bit of the former as you astutely observed.

But, if I am inside Ollie, and my wife is driving down the highway, would Parallasium, not to be confused with paralaxium,  end up being Keystoning when viewed from an infinite distance?

Think on that one for a while.

GJ:

PS:  I can't as it gives me a brain circuit trip.

I realize this post has nothing to do with the direction this thread has taken, but I think this part is what was originally used for the bathroom sink drain. I submitted a service request asking for the correct part but the factory was unable to provide that information. You won’t find this in most hardware stores.
