Good Morning from Oliver Travel Trailers. Just wanted to put any concerns to rest about our wheels and tires. They are in fact weighted and balanced. The spare tire and wheel is the same size and style as the 4 main tires and wheels. I hope this puts all worries at ease. We strive to be better than other manufacturers in every way and your input and ideas on this forum are always welcome. As most of you know we have always listened to our customers and in a lot of cases, actually implemented things on the production line as a result. Thank you all for choosing Oliver Travel Trailers! - Phil Andrews5 points

I was putting out the Carefree awning for the first time and as I was extending the arms to secure them to the trailer the orange clip that has tightens the are broke off. Contacted Jason who immediately ordered me a new one at no expense even though the Carefree warranty doesn’t cover that part. Good outcome to a stupid issue2 points

Phil, is there any reason Oliver continues to give zero guidance about ideal tire pressure, and also why are they delivered with tires inflated to max sidewall pressure? For storage that may make some sense, as a manufacturer, but it is doing a disservice to the buyer to not adjust them to a reasonable value like 60 psi for an Elite II. Tire pressures should be a tech bulletin. I have requested this in the past and still haven't seen one. Thanks. John Davies Spokane WA2 points

Here is a great guide to gelcoat repair. It is not hard to do, it is a little tricky to do correctly so that it looks OK. I've done boats before, but never a trailer. There seems to be more and more F-150's out there on the forum. I am creating this topic for all of us who have an F-150 and are experiencing or will experience the dreaded Trailer Disconnect Message. This topic will hopefully help us 1.) Understand the issue and 2.) Find a way to lessen / live with it. To start a hearty THANK YOU to all those I have talked to about this, especially Steve / ScubaRX. I also have a request for any who read this thread: PLEASE LIMIT this discussion to the disconnect issue on the F-150 ONLY. Many helpful people who know a lot more about trailer electronics than I do will undoubtedly want to help diagnose grounding issues etc. For the F-150 that would send most folks down a very deep rabbit hole. OK.. and thanks in advance for your help on this. This is what I know / have been able to surmise about the situation: IT's the TRUCK! Not the trailer. If you google F-150 and trailer disconnect you will get a huge amount of hits going back a very long time. Ford must know about this and just not care about fixing it.DON'T worry about your BRAKES! - All the lights and turn signals work fine even when the trucks computer tells you the trailer is disconnected. AND THE BRAKES ARE WORKING TOO! The good news..... no danger, but it still sure is annoying. If you want to check this, use the manual brake controller to apply the brakes when the trailer is showing disconnected. You can also go to the trailer status screen and see the gain when you apply the foot brake. < I worried a long time about the brakes and now its nice to know that they are still there doing their job > This is what I think we might be able to do about it: I read that running a ground jump cable between trailer and truck might help. That is if it is a grounding issue that is causing the trucks computer to think the trailer is disconnected. I am thinking this would involve wire, connectors, screws and drilling some small holes. Does anyone know how to do this? Any help on placing a ground between the truck and trailer would be appreciated. I will get er done and report back on the next trip.Has anyone SOLVED this issue? Either with the help of Ford or on your own?I plan to address this with my local ford dealer, but frankly don't have much hope that they will have a solution. Finally for those planning on buying an F-150 as an Ollie tow vehicle. Everything else about the truck is great. Lots of power. Nice ride. Tows great. And, the Pro Backup Assist helps very much for trailer newbs like me. This is the only issue that drives me a bit crazy. Thanks Everyone... Smooth Roads and Blue Skies! Just throwing it out there, but everybody knows that 20 + 30 lb. propane bottles fit snugly into a 'milk' crate? We use the milk crate when we transport tanks to be filled. Keeps them from rolling around in the truck. Also a couple of bungees keep the crate from sliding around. The crate gives the bungee something easy to hook to. I guess a bonus, we never thought about, it keeps the tank upright. Two other customers, also waiting to get tanks filled, said what a great idea to use the crate. I thought everyone knew about them...1 point

Randy, it is much more affordable than the marine version of the Indel/ Isotherm. The customer service rep explained to me that as a land-based fridge, it doesn't have to obtain coast guard approval, so that's a big part of the cost difference. Some pieces are not stainless that are stainless on some of the Indel marine versions. the door isn't reversible, and no choice of swing. But, it looks like you could change out the front panel to another color if you liked something other than basic black, their only option. I'm ok with all the above, at a reasonable price and flat rate of $100 shipping. Most important to me, it says Indel on the door, has the compressor I want, and a 2 year warranty on everything important. We'll see how it works out. Sherry1 point

</span> That was October.... Nobody at Oliver could come back to this day, with an answer as to where it goes after it disappears inside the bathroom vanity and our fix works fine, so I haven't worried about it. Run down your trailer batteries, run the inverter and microwave for a while or whatever. Get it down to 12.3+- then plug it in to your truck, the SeeLevel monitor should jump up to 13.8+- immediately while charging from the truck and this will let you know if you have a bad ground. Do it in the evening so the solar doesn't get involved. If it has a bad ground, the tow ready will help it register but it doesn't fix the problem and the trailer will still not be charging from the truck like it should. Grounding the 7 pin to the frame is easy, supposedly Oliver had fixed it but... The disconnect issue is isolated to Ford trucks and that thread is really thorough!1 point

You need to check the grounding on your trailer, more than likely the ground from your tow vehicle is not connected to the trailer breaks ground side. If you read the beginning of this thread it will describe how to check out the grounding issue and also how to correct the problem. Since I corrected the grounding issue ON the Oliver Travel Trailer I have had no other issues. Oliver TT never sent anything out about their problem with the ground issue they created on the trailer. There is two problems with their ground connections: 1. The trailer breaks negative lead is not connected to the negative lead coming from the tow vehicle via the 7 pin connector. 2. The tow vehicle's ability to charge the trailers batteries when the tow vehicle is attached to the trailer does not work; again because of the defective grounding on the Oliver Trailer itself.1 point

Indeed. It's been a while since #211 so I'm sure that stuff has moved out by now. Still something worth noting. I really need to start a delivery inspection checklist with all this info.1 point

There is a long thread on similar issues here. In a number of cases the Tow Ready adaptor solved the problem.1 point
