  1. I do like my Silver Oliver TT hat and decided to hold off and not wear it until we take delivery of Hull #634 in mid June.

  2. I'm not sure about the "sad and pathetic" part, but, I miss the freedom too! Bill

  3. This is a great way to watch the Thunderbirds airshow... my Other Half in a Cabelas branded Zero Gravity lounger. I agree they are too bulky to always bring along, but I usually miss them if I don’t throw them in the truck.... Sometimes I will open one up in the garage and just sit next to “Mouse”, pretending I am off in the real world instead of quarantined.... how very sad and pathetic is that!? John Davies Spokane WA

  4. On our drive today from Roswell to Durango I noticed there is a reflection on the 12” display. The thing is, when you look at it you see the display. If you adjust your focus you see the reflection. So, I don’t think it’s an issue, but if you focus right you might see a reflection. Mike

  5. Patriot i like them. The suction works well hadn’t fallen off yet, very quite. Lying in bed about 5’ away you can feel the air moving. As others have shown there are a lot of different types out there. I’m happy 👍🏼

  6. We have the ARB Touring chairs and besides having a lot of great reviews they are quite comfortable and appear well made. Ours came with a nice storage bags. As JD mentioned they and stow nicely for travel. The wide arm rests are notably comfortable. Removable beverage holder/small snack shelf and armchair pockets. I would buy again based on comfort, fit and finish. -Patriot

  8. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/3305-how-to-caframo-sirocco-ii-12-volt-marine-cabin-fan/ I am really happy with this mod, it is way better than a 120v AC Vornado or similar fan. It is quiet and efficient both in moving air and sipping battery power. And the white color blends in with the Ollie interior better than black. John Davies Spokane WA

  9. I like the all mirrored cabinets, they make your trailer look much bigger inside and the feeling of more room. On nice days with the windows open it brings the outside inside, for that natural look and feeling. trainman

  10. Those Carefree poles must be new - at least they weren't available back when I was looking. We've been using some REI tarp poles, which are extremely sturdy, but require a bit of hacking to make them work. I drilled a small hole in the bottom two corners of the awning housing and then I wrap ratchet straps over the extension arms to keep the awning from lifting off the poles. We've weathered some pretty big winds with that setup, and even a hailstorm. My ultimate plan was to thread the pin at the top of the poles, then install a grommet at the end of my ratchet straps - that way I could just slide the grommet over the pole, insert the pole in the awning, and secure it with a wing nut. That's never happened, and now that I know about that Carefree kit, I might just switch to that instead. Here's a photo of the setup - those ratchet straps are ridiculous, at a minimum I need to get something smaller and much less orange...

  11. https://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/products/hd-awning-stabilizr.html I bought these. They work well. I have the manual awning. For use with the automatic retracting I think you have to turn the sensor off.

  12. We have a cheapy Chinese one that we used when tent camping before we got our Ollie. It wasn't the highest quality thing I've ever owned, but honestly, it did it's job and seems none the worse for wear after three or four years of use. Apart from the aluminum tube, I can't say that it looks much different to the one pictured above. I think that if I were going to spend real money on a hitch carrier, I'd probably go for the one that 1up sells. I've never seen it in person, but if it's anything like the quality of their bike racks, then it's probably worth the $500 bucks they want for it. Plus you can fold it up out of the way when not in use and can attach one of their bike racks to it. And for just $20 more you can get a 60" version, which seems like the better deal.

  13. [postquote quote=177651][/postquote] Like Overland, I have no trouble fitting 3 of these into the basement storage area. Along with 2 5x7 outdoor rugs and room for 2 - 4lb. bags of charcoal. Mike

  14. They are residential quality, they are darned tough. If you are in a storm bad enough to break these panels, you will have more important things to worry about. Besides, your insurance would cover replacement cost. OTH, if I were in a bad storm and solid shelter was available, I would certainly use it.... if it were limited, I would stick my truck and occupants under it and leave the Ollie sticking out. 15. Attach the supplied wire harness and electronic noise filter. I ran into a problem here; one of the nuts would not go onto a stud. After a couple of minutes of fumbling and some bad words I realized that it had no internal threads. So I went down to Ace Hardware and found a couple of new ones: size M4-.7. These are really fine thread and may be hard to find locally if you are unlucky enough to need any. Here is the hookup: The wires run out the side slot then up through the TV cable hole into the overhead. I used a white spiral wrap protective sleeve on the two wires and secured them to the cabinet with a short "service loop" using a stick-on wire mount. I spliced into a power and ground wire that supplied the 12 volt round receptacle there, adding a 3 amp mini blade inline fuse in the power wire. I then added some labels with a black Sharpie so I would know what was what: The gimbaled mount allows you to swivel the airflow in any direction. If I want to crack open the rear window for ventilation the fan will draw that air into the cabin. For working around the bed you can fold it up and out of the way. Nifty. John Davies Spokane WA

  16. https://www.amazon.com/ARB-10500100-Brown-Sport-Camping/dp/B0036UI1OI These are comfy, strong and not too large. Two will fit nicely in the front of the closet if you wanted them there, along with a ladder. Plus they have the cool overland ARB logo that will make folks think you really know what you are doing. Be sure you get chairs with sloped backs. The crap ones for $20 often have vertical backs and those are 100% horrible to sit on. John Davies Spokane WA

  17. I carry two even though I travel alone 80% of the time. I wouldn't worry about "people stopping over" in that there is usually somewhere to sit or they can bring over a chair of their own. Most camping people understand that we all have limited space and therefore do not expect seating to be supplied. Bill

  18. This what we’re using. It is an Abus padlock. It’s not going to prevent a determined thief but does provide some deterrence. I believe most thefts occur while in storage not camping. Mike

  19. John, I've been using a Valterra, too. It got so stiff going on and off, thought I was going to break something. Started using Danco waterproof grease on the plastic locks and O-ring. Working fine now.

  20. On our most recent trip, and after a long haul down a pretty rough gravel road, I noticed the spare tire cover was coming off. When I pulled down the license plate to inspect, I found the X-nut (?) used to secure the cover was hanging on by just one or two threads! Good thing I stopped to stretch when I did, as I still had some miles to go. So what I have done now is to pack out behind the cover with some 5/8" washers on the threaded rod. This fills the space between the back of the cover and the threaded aluminum bar that actually secures the tire. Then, with he cover back on, I have added a second 5/8-11 nut on top of the X-nut to secure it. If you travel rough roads often, I would recommend securing the cover in this way. Dave
