This short video was just published. It highlights the small town of Brevard, NC which is located just southwest of Asheville, NC and is a short distance from the Blue Ridge Parkway. I have to agree with the comments about Brevard. We have some close friends who lived in Salt Lake City for many years, and then they moved to Brevard several years ago. We have visited them several times, and it is a wonderful area. The old fashioned business district is really nice, with interesting stores - no chain stores. I particularly liked this store called Architectural Antiques, so much so that I had to take a picture of it. And the waterfalls were amazing! We did bunch of hikes, and each time to a different waterfall. Pictures of Triple Falls and Connestee Falls.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Indeed this is a pretty nice place, but most of the people are fairly nice too. One of the singers/band members in the video is Woody Platt. He is a member of the Steep Canyon Rangers - multiple Grammy award winners for their Bluegrass music and the band of choice for Steve Martin who is a reasonable banjo player. Also in the video is Sylvan Sport - the makers of the "Go" camper - who changed their production line early in the Pandemic in order to produce PPE mainly in the form of the face shields shown in the video. Gaia Herbs also changed their production to hand sanitizer (as did a couple of the smaller breweries in town) and Oskar Blues brewery shut down the beer line in order to produce canned water. The worker assembly line shown is from a production facility that mainly hires physically/mentally challenged workers and they changed the line in order to pack meals and dry goods for the Federal Government. And for Mike there is a group that is providing free BBQ each Saturday and Sunday - the BBQ is good but we found the sauce to be not the best. And there is more, but, this is not a bad response to our current national situation particularly for a town with a population of less than 8,000. Bill

Brevard is truly one of the prettiest little towns in western North Carolina. A really lovely and vibrant downright , and outside of town, omg, all the woods (Transylvania) and waterfalls. Don't skip it, when it's just a bit out of the way. Asheville is fun and wonderful, but towns like Brevard maintain that WNC heart and small town friendliness that is truly the spirit of western North Carolina. Sherry

So these were the two brass connectors, and you can see the full split down the length of them. Oliver was very responsive and got me the parts quickly. I finally got around to changing them out yesterday. It was a tight spot to work in, but honestly the most frustrating part was trying to wrap the plumbers tape around the threading of the intake in such a tight space - that stuff twisted and stuck to everything but the threading. Took about 2 hours total, but we are back in business. Thanks everyone for your input.

Although we haven’t been to Western North Carolina in many years and loved the waterfalls, creeks, and trees, I always thought the best thing about the area was the BBQ. Mossey

I'm gonna experiment baking a loaf in my Dutch oven - using coals. The two I did on the grill came out great - so if the charcoal effort turns out - you may get a slice. For some reason, the loaf disappears rather quickly. Harley - he is gearing up for a new trip next week, headed west. Be good, RB

My nephew teaches at the college in Brevard. It is a lovely little town. I fell in love with NC many years ago when a friend and I took a car trip to explore the parkway. It was simply breathtaking!

Bill edit - forgot to mention - there are 16 screws in the inside frame of my door window - these screws are what holds the outside frame, inside frame and window together with the door "sandwiched" in between.

I bought a set of RV Snappads and installed them with no trouble on the Oliver Stabilizers. Here's an install video I made to show you how easy it was. RVSnappad.mp4

That hole is made for a better person than myself. I removed it long ago and saw it would be hopeless for me to do anything with it.

My thanks to all who commented. My problem was with the speakers on the dinette side front and aft. They neither never worked or had a muffled sound. I am half deaf so I never really noticed it. But my wife isn't half deaf and was tired of me turning up the television the few times we watch it. Yes, the plastic radio cover does pop off easily (the bottom half) and no, I did not break it. The wires were all plugged in properly and so my problem was not there. After reinstalling the radio and popping the cover back on I went back to the TV (which I had already done previously). This time I pulled out every wire that was plugged in and observed the color-coded receptor for each plug. There was a red-colored plug-receptor on the bottom that had no wire plugged in it. I moved the top red wire down to that red receptor and problem solved. (Somebody was in a hurry to go home that day and merely plugged the red feed into the wrong hole.) The Oliver forum (for those who do not know) is a lifesaver for building confidence for DIY projects, tackling problems that come up when owning a boat or trailer, and restoring self esteem religiously. Cheers to all who helped and those who needed it as well.

If it helps anyone - after watching the YouTube linked above I made a "reminder list" of the steps to be taken during the install. 1. Apply tape (I used Gorilla duct tape) to exterior window frame to hold it in place. 2. Remove the 16 screws from the inside frame of the window and make note of the top of the inside frame in order to make sure that it is replaced the same way it came out. 3. Gently pressing on the glass from the outside - remove the frosted glass. 4. Remove old caulk from the channel of the exterior frame and clean that channel with alcohol. 5. Install new caulk (supplied with the materials from Zarcor) into the channel. Don't press the new caulk to hard so that you don't break the seal that is on the outside frame. 6. From the interior gently place new glass in the exterior frame. (Note: safety glass etched info goes to the interior) 7. Replace interior frame - note : leave the bottom center two screw holes empty. 8. Clean new glass with alcohol and then clean again with glass cleaner. 9. Seat new shade system on interior glass. (Note: the end with the two "Velcro" buttons are installed at the bottom - for the operating handle. The shade is a close fit, so, start positioning it at the top of the window and finish at the bottom. Firmly press at each Velcro button location to firmly seat these on the glass. 10: Install the operating handle using the two screws provided by Zarcor - do not over tighten. Move the handle to the left, close the blind, then press the Velcro button on the handle into the matching button on the blind. Slide the handle right to open and left to close. Bill

FYI the clack clack clack sound is the spring loaded override clutch built into the big drive gear on top of the main shaft. It is supposed to make that sound and it hurts nothing. Other than your nerves, maybe. It is a little too loud. I am a believer in blocks, I certainly never want to drive off with a jack touching the ground. I place a red streamer around the gearshift for unusual situations so I will think extra hard before moving it. Like .... “Is my ARB fridge power cable plugged into the trailer?” It has saved my butt once already. John Davies. Spokane WA

In regards to the push-in Shark Bite vs crimped..... most crimp fittings have enough space to install two rings. If you are anal like me, for a fitting that will be really hard to reach in the future (inside a sheetrock wall) double the clamps and you will sleep better. And use brass fittings instead of plastic. The steel rings are less than $0.50 each so it is cheap insurance. Water running inside a house for a month.... yikes! I turn off the main valve if we leave for more than a couple of days. Water damage is no fun. John Davies Spokane WA

I wondered if removing the tire cover would be hindered by the above-bumper hitch. Sorry to hear it does. I didn't mention or show it last night, but this receiver also doesn't interfere with the bumper being lowered. The attached photo, taken before I reinstalled the diamond plate cover, shows the bumper in the down position. In fact, it rests on the receiver tube instead of swinging down. The drain hose can be easily used. You'll have to help me convince the great folks at Oliver to make and install this style. Or, you could have a local welding shop fabricate one and you install it. The materials should be available locally.
