wlonghurst, I feel for your concerns, your Truma problem should have been caught before delivery. However, you stated above: βIt has not worked from the first night of camping at David Crockett State Park. We should have gone back to Oliver the next day but headed for home (New Mexico) thinking that we just had not been properly operating it.β The whole point of personally picking up your new trailer in TN is so that you can give it a thorough shake-down over several days, testing EVERYTHING, and give the factory the opportunity to fix any problems BEFORE you end up 2000 miles away. So maybe you should consider not being so harsh on the nice folks in Hohenwald. Did you attempt to contact the Service Department to ask about your Truma before you headed west? If so, what was their response? If a buyer is unwilling to linger in TN for a few days, it seems more sensible to me to just have the trailer shipped by truck to your home town. Older (I'm not too sure what that means) alarms had an expected life of 5 years. But I've been told that the newer ones (not sure what that means either) have a life of 10 years. Supposedly, the newer ones will also give you a warning via a certain series of beeps as to when they are at of approaching this end of their expected life. All of the above is still no reason for the detector to die after only 18 months in service. Once I get (another) reply from Dometic I'll update. Bill2 points

As I mentioned in my May 26th post above, I'm still dealing with Dometic concerning my warranty claim. They had me take the "dead" alarm to an authorized service center - the local CampingWorld - who tested it and confirmed that it was indeed dead. Then I emailed Dometic and asked what did I need to do next and they asked me to send them a picture of the dead unit. Great, but, CampingWorld kept it! So, I sent Dometic a description and a link to their own website. In return they sent me a picture (the same one that is on their website) to confirm that this was the unit. I confirmed it just yesterday so now we will see what happens next. Bill p.s. (edit) sure is a bunch nicer on those rare occasions when I have needed to deal with Oliver.2 points

Yep - that's the stuff (there are a couple of brands that are similar). I only use it a couple times a year and all seems to operate smoothly. Bill2 points

When we replace ours (again) I'll probably look for separate rvia (maybe) approved co, smoke, and lp. Co mingles with air, so its location isn't as big a thing as you might think. Lp needs to be low, as LP is denser than air and sinks. Smoke alarm high. Co, well, as far away from appliances as possible. That's not easy in a compact trailer. Rv manufacturers, including Oliver, are stuck with rvia guidelines on the items they choose. Not all devices are rvia approved. 12 years on, I can make and live with my choices. Edit to add: I'm not endorsing any particular brand here, nor do I suggest removing safety devices. I see stories like this too often. A properly functioning co detector would have saved these 3 lives. https://amp.desmoinesregister.com/amp/2997719001 Sherry1 point

LEII Hull 635 delivered 6-10-20 has no outlets on the nightstand or under the beds unless you count the GFI located on the inverter in the space below the street side bed, which requires the access cover to be removed to use it! There is one outlet at the dinette floor next to the bath ( you have the cord for your computer in your lap when you use it) and one in the overhead cabinet for the microwave, one for the refrigerator. The space between the sink and cooktop has one under the overhead cabinet. The TV has one in the rear overhead cabinet, and one under the rear overhead for use on the nightstand, but it is on the street side corner and of course the weatherproof outside one. When we ordered our Ollie we were told they were removing the outlets in the nightstand for safety inspection reasons, we did not expect the others to go away. Still it is a GREAT trailer and we love it already (five nights) !!!!1 point

The outlet in the overhead cabinet is for the microwave. In the interests of a comprehensive list, there is another electric outlet behind the galley drawers, for the fridge's AC connection. Pictures on this thread. When we ordered our Ollie we had to pay extra to get additional outlets below the curbside bed and on the nightstand. But now they are standard.1 point

Same exact situation with alarm in late 2018 LEII, usually around 2 AM, and even if no propane tanks are near the trailer. Since the CO detector function is redundant, I'm looking for another LP-only solution. Sometimes it's not worth the aggravation of trying to get a warranty replacement of a part that will likely just fail again.1 point

This is the chart I made for our system. Divide by 2 for a typical Ollie setup: So, yeah. Realistically, if we're talking 300Ah of batteries and people people freak when their batteries hit 50%, we're talking about an hour and a half of AC use. In most situations, once you include your other uses, the average Ollie owner could plan on the better part of two days of sunlight to recoup that. Average - if it's truly mid summer, four corners, zero clouds, you could possibly get it back in a day. If it's cloudy, might be three. I've said many times - it's not magic. AC units have tremendous appetites and solar output is one of the most exaggerated topics in the RV world, both from dealers and owners. Solar is great, LFP is great, but there's a reason my trailer looks like an aircraft carrier.1 point

We have a 2018, twin bed model. (Hull 414) and here's what we have in ours: (1) above kitchen counter on bottom of cabinet, (1) below curbside bed, (1) inside rear overhead cabinet (above tv), (1) below streetside bed, (1) below dinette seat, (1) below closet door, (0) in bathroom since it's a wet-bath. (1) outside on curbside, There was a time when Oliver would add outlets but I doubt if they do it now. I think they just starting making them standard based on what folks were asking for.1 point

Graphics have not been a maintenance burden. I wash/wax without any concern about the swooshes or the front graphic. Mike1 point

We are new very soon to be Ollie owners. In learning from members on this forum and other Ollie owners locally this is a good product to add to your black and gray tanks to help with lubing the blade valves you mention. Other owners will hopefully chime in. I have a few bottles of this and plan to use it per manual directions. I am sure there are other products out there, but this was highly recommended to me by a few Ollie owners/friends it has decent reviews.1 point

That looks like it will begin right after the rally and since you know I have been in recovery since 1984, I assume what I wonβt drink could be used as hand sanitizer while serving as a designated driver. So If 2 Ollie's were heading north on I-75 on their way to the rally, what would be considered a safe social following distance? Mossey1 point

You are right. I do not watch a lot of TV and I am just now getting into camping so don't know if I will be boon docking in the near future. I am getting old and maybe less willing to strike out on my own. (guess that is why I joined Sisters on the Fly..which so far has turned out to nothing. LOL1 point

Oops. I was checking a screen to see if it was different for non moderator users this morning, and I forgot to sign out and log back in. Livvy is my dog. Clever little thing, isn't she? Using a computer, at her young age of 5. π Thanks for the catch. Sherry She is an avid camper. In this photo, she's camping with her pal, Pete's dog, Bosker. Liv is on the left.1 point
