  1. It was a fun time. We all learned at least one thing. Most of all we learned that Maine Oliver owners are a Great group of people. Oh ya, and we have to practice our game of Corn hole!

  2. I was told this morning by Oliver service that the instructions I had been following as presented in the manual I was given March 17 at delivery for the Andersen Hitch are old and have been updated by Andersen. The correct manual coincides with the removal and connection method as presented at delivery. As an fyi, I asked about a connector that was displayed in my manual which is no longer used by Andersen. Without that inquiry, I would not have known that the manual delivered was not correct, and the procedure listed in the manual should not be used. I try to follow the RTFM principle, but when it is the wrong manual, it becomes disappointing. Has anyone found other manuals that might be out of date? https://www.mediafire.com/file/bx5xm3p7hie6515/3932_-_WD_Hitch_installation_manual_May_2021_Low_Res.pdf/file the correct Andersen manual. I was told that Oliver is going through the other manuals that are given out today to verify that they are current. The manuals are copied and placed in a bound book. Nice idea, and the manuals are in one place. Need the correct manuals, though. John

  3. We also went with the twin Southern Mattresses. We did not get the cushions for the bed area we just paid to upgrade the dinette only to the upgraded upholstery. Still saved us about $400 plus even after shipping and paying to upgrade upholstery. We also purchased sheets & mattress pads from AB Lifestyles. Cindy

  4. It's an impressive tow rating for such a small truck though. 'Small', relative to the oversized full size pickups of today. I've been surprised at how many Honda Ridgelines I've seen around town, but I can see how the comfort and road handling of a unibody truck is appealing. So I think Ford has a ready market, and I think the hybrid choice was wise. We love our little X3 hybrid, and I'm eager for a hybrid Raptor (which will never happen, but I can dream). I've also been seeing quite a few of the Bronco Sports around, which is the same basic chassis as the Maverick. I was expecting the Sport to be something of a pretender; but in person, it's clearly more like the original LR Disco, and seems like it would be similarly capable offroad.

  5. ... preferably lithium iron phosphate chemistry like the Viking one sold by Harbor Freight https://t.harborfreight.com/lithium-ion-jump-starter-and-power-pack-62749.html https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_iron_phosphate_battery So far I haven't been able to find a single other brand that uses this safe and stable technology. I will not store a large lithium ion battery pack long term in either Mouse or my Cruiser. The fire and explosion risk bothers me too much. I may get the HF one and pay for an extended warranty, since the factory one is just 90 days. I need to be able to jump the 5.7 V8 in my truck. There is so much conflicting info, wild and absurd claims, and so many carbon copy clones of these jumpers, that I am just getting confused. Comments? Thanks, John Davies Spokane WA

  6. Thanks, jed for doing the research I didn't do. I assumed viking would be lithium. That's just sad. And heavy. Came up in my feed. ... We're happy with the little lifepo4 box. We'll stick with that, for now

  7. That looks cool but it has a sealed lead acid battery and weighs 30 pounds, the little LiFePO4 version is TEN times lighter. What do you need 250 psi for? Whenever I see a super high number like that I wonder how many cubic feet per minute does it produce and what is the duty cycle? If it takes 20 minutes to inflate your truck tire, it isn’t much good. This is not a compressor thread, maybe we should start one. My SmittyBilt 2781 Air Compressor puts out almost 6 cfm with a 40 minute duty cycle. It blows hard enough to be able to use it to clear dust from surfaces, or to winterize your water system, in a pinch…. It will inflate a 33 inch truck tire from 20 to 42 psi in about 3 minutes. Apples and oranges, I know. But I am not seeing any value at all in that extremely heavy jump box/ compressor unit. The battery will be toast in a couple of years, as you know LA batteries do not like deep discharges. I hope it is a standard size. You cannot buy repair parts for most of these HF power tools, if the compressor or the motor fails you probably will not be able to replace it. John Davies Spokane WA

  9. A beautiful 81 degree sunny day here on Blueberry Hill in Western NC, so we gave our Ollie a bath and got it cleaned up and ready to go. The ladder is a keeper. It did not flex at all and the entire time I felt very safe on it. No wobble, no bend, no creaks, just solid. It extended very smoothly and retracted as it should. I would not hesitate to purchase this ladder again. I have attached a few pics showing how well the silicone rung cover works. I give it a 👍🏻 Up. PM if you have questions. Hope this helps anyone looking for a decent strong telescopic ladder. My Bride and I also removed the old white window seals and installed the new black seals after a good deep cleaning of the window tracks. A few extra bonus photos. Partially extended was all I needed as I am tall and this worked great. The silicone rung protector worked excellent.

  10. People have definitely used those mini splits on RVs, and they’re especially popular on expedition builds. They’re much more efficient than either rooftop or window units, in addition to being quieter. If there were a good place in the Ollie for either part of the unit, I’d definitely be in line to get one. Here’s a thread I started back when I was trying to find an alternative - it would be worth taking another look out there to see what more is available in our market now.
