New to Oliver (828), I noticed that there is a continuous draw on the batteries (lithium), about 10% drop overnight when practically nothing was on. What I learned, is the Zantrex draws on itself when left on, it when turned off, there is almost no draw. So, when 120 is not needed, turn off the inverter!3 points

As you probably already know - our trailers are reasonably prone to condensation, particularly in areas near moisture producers such as "humans". This topic in various forms is fairly common. A few years ago there were owners experiencing moisture buildup beneath and to the sides of their beds. The "solution" for this was to purchase what I though was a very expensive "breathable matt" similar to the one that Oliver currently sells as an option. Since I happened to have some "foam board" like THIS I decided to give it a try in order to reduce the temperature variation between the bed and the other surfaces. Now, six years later, I can say that I've never had a single moisture problem either under or on the sides of the bed. I cut one piece of the board to fit the area under the mattress and cut two more such that they would run along the straight sides of the mattress and come to the top of the mattress. Finally I cut three relatively short pieces the same height as the last two and taped them together such that they would conform to the radius of the curved section of the wall. If anyone is interested in a picture of this I can post one tomorrow. Bill p.s. If you decide to do this mod then don't forget to cut a small place in the edge of the foam board where you can get your fingers/hand under it so that you can easily grab it to get access to the hatches.3 points

Thanks for the pics, a word of caution, your high pressure hoses are being stressed at both ends, keep an eye on them for leaks or cracks. If you do end up with issues, buy a longer set of two, so you can get more gentle bends, or alternatively install brass 90 degree elbows at the regulator facing forward. That’s what I did when I replaced my four year old leaking ones. John Davies Spokane WA1 point

My understanding of the big red rotary switch in that cabinet at least in my 2021 trailer (#709) is that it cuts off the solar power input to the solar controller (and hence the batteries). Oliver told me that there is no battery cuttoff switch installed and that to eliminate phantom draw (beyond the BMS in the batteries and its bluetooth etc) they advised me to just do as Mike and Carol suggested.1 point

UPDATE! what I learned, while plugging into the campground, the AC source was extremely unstable. We were at the end of the line and when others pulled current, our ACdropped up and down from 120 significantly and the Xantrex cycled on and off between shore power and propane (for the fridge) to compensate for the unstable power. problem solved. Thanks all for the input.1 point

All good points, John. We're hoping a lot of the newbie campers will have had enough of leaks and bugs in a couple of years and gone back to their hotels, opening up campsites again. We do have a 2000W Honda suitcase gen we were planning to carry. Most of our trips will be east of the Rockies, with a few jaunts out West again. We try to avoid commercial campgrounds on the weekends, preferring midweek when possible.1 point

We don't have factory installed solar charging on our Ollie. I installed a master disconnect switch with the Battle Born system for storage when Ollie is not in use. Here's a Battle Born video about storage:1 point

My biggest thought is since the price between the two is so close, why would you even consider the 19 footer. I do realize that maybe because your tow vehicle would not handle the larger trailer, but I would consider changing tow vehicles before I would give up trailer size for the price difference. trainman1 point

Same situation with my 2021 model. I was greasing the chassis this week and took one of the nuts off. Only the top of the shock has this problem, the lower end is fine. No serious cracks in the rubber yet. Perhaps some heavy duty fender washers between the rubber and the brackets would improve the rubber life.1 point

Excellent points Steve! It was not my intention to suggest that the only place to jack up the trailer to change a tire was from in front of the front tire. I just couldn’t get a clear picture of the rear jacking point on my trailer. That was also the reason I referenced the newsletter as it has a better description than I provided. But here are 2 pictures copied from the newsletter showing the jack points for OTT's 2017 and newer. Mike1 point
