Yeah, its camping and as we all know weather happens, and naturally not all travel and camping is fair weather. The blessed/best part about it is everyone got through it unscathed and with no damage or injuries. Really just a good reminder for all Oliver owners to always stay dialed in and weather aware. Our SL mini was on point helping us monitor conditions. The bright side, today is going to be absolutely a gorgeous sunny day here and I am glad we are not leaving until Monday morning. As for storm pics, I don’t think given the intensity of the wind, hard rain, lightening, light hail and strong winds anyone was out taking photos. Everyone seemed grateful for being spared from weather that could have really gotten ugly in the blink of an eye. Grateful here! Onward! 🇺🇸4 points

We enjoyed the beautiful drive up from Albuquerque, and had a great hike the next day to the edge of the park and then some into the Cibola NF. You can only see edges of the mountain range from the campground. Most of the campsites are difficult. We backed in first and found our entrance would be on the wrong side and steep downhill. Then I drove in head first, unhitched and lifted the tongue a foot high to get level. We didn’t want to drive the truck anyway. Tonight we’re at Hannagan Meadows south of Alpine AZ at 9130 ft. it’s cold up here, will be high if 42F by Monday! Stopped to visit with these bull elks on the way. Wow!3 points

The Legacy II is a two-person rig which is realistically limited to one child sized visitor. There is good and bad news there. Bad news is that you really cannot realistically sleep more than 2 adults comfortably. Good news is that you really cannot realistically be expected to sleep more than two adults comfortably.2 points

Due to popular demand, I will again be collecting and distributing a list of attendees and their campsite location. I did this the first year we attended just so that I could put faces to names from the forum and Facebook groups. But it turned out that others liked the idea, too, so I brought copies to the event. So here we go again. If you are interested in participating, please comment below with: Site Number, Forum Name (if applicable), First Name(s), State, Trailer "Name", and Hull Number Example: G23, Steve Morris, Steve and Deb, Ohio, "Curiosity", 1360 The final list of attendees and sites will be posted the weekend before the event, and I'll bring copies with us if needed. NOTE: This list is in no way authorized, encouraged, or associated with Oliver Travel Trailers. This is only for the convenience of attendees. I would like thank everyone for your advice and I have checked into each of the recommendations. As stated in my original note we love the Oliver specifically and the "fiberglass egg" concept in general. What I forgot to mention was the Bigfoot brand was a serious contender for our next travel trailer but they are currently not shipping to the US until this tariff thing is resolved. I talked to a very nice lady at their manufacturing facility a short time ago and she sounded deflated which is the only word I could use to describe her tone. She said that the majority of their trailers are sold in the US and maybe she was concerned about the company staying in business is the only thing I can think of. We have moved on from looking at Airstreams as a number of the comments in this thread indicated some real quality issues. In digging fairly extensively these issues appear to be real. We did purchase a new small(ish) Outdoors RV as it ticked most (not all) of our boxes and I plan to sell our Oliver through this forum's Classifieds. in the next couple months. Safe and fun travels. I'll honk if I see any of you Oliverites on the road!1 point

Despite a little wind, small hail and wet weather, we all survived and look at it as a great exercise in boon docking.😄 Overall it was really so good to see old friends and make a few new friends. And speaking of old friends one of our favorites made it to the rally this year. So good to see and love on Miss Anita!1 point

Unfortunately we will not be showing our trailer today. Just too much rain and mud. So the next best thing is a video tour. We will miss seeing all of you. Enjoy. IMG_2245.mov1 point

Last year's Asian is still my favorite, but, you guys are amazing. I have no clue how one's mind must work to come up with these decorating idea let alone execute them so well. Bill1 point

Rheostat Install on AC.pdfHello, I am sharing instructions I developed for installing a rheostat on the Dometic A/C so the A/C blower motor's speed and can controlled and reduced, thereby reducing the excessive air turbulence noise. FYI, the file size is large, I apologize for this. I tried compressing the file prior to uploading, but most of the content disappeared each time I compressed the file. I also tried compressing the photos within the file, but this too did not work. Thanks, GG1 point

20:48 and power has been out at the campground for about 2.5 hours. Hopefully will be resolved by morning. Had only pea sized hail during the storms so luckily no vehicle damage. Here’s to lithium batteries and an abundance of stored power!!! 😁😁😁 John1 point

Problem Solved: Bad Crimps on New 3 way crimp connectors I had bought new brake and hubs for the trailer and had the installation done at the same place doing our Truma Recall. I looked more closely and used a check light to trace power to the new 3way crimp connectors (for the new brake assemblies.) They didn't look fully seated on the fronts the same as the rear. Squeezed them with a pair of channel locks and voila, now the front brakes on both sides are engaging. Since I was under the trailer I went around and manually adjusted all 4 brakes to the same resistance. Next I'll be burnishing in the brakes as we begin our next trip. Me too, though I'm not sure we could ever make this trip, so far east, and at this time of year when work (and yardwork) is plentiful and when it's spring in the high desert! Loved the 2024 Texas Rally, meeting so many 40+ Oliver owners, and only 1100 miles away. Your rally should certainly be AWESOME! A big shout-out to @Steve Morris for his efforts each year. Even though we cannot be there, I've saved a copy of this special listing of Oliver Owners so I can learn of new members on this forum and in hopes to meet y'all "on the road again." Best wishes to all, and Hello to all from John & Chris of Prescott AZ, yet currently at 7200 ft at the Manzano Mountains NM SP (It's Ok, but certainly not Lake Guntersville AL)! Check out my lunch partner during my lunch break yesterday! PLEASE, please post 100s of great pictures on this thread! We would view and enjoy each and every one on them! Thank you...1 point

Right now there are numerous Ollie Owners hitting the road towards the 2025 Rally. Please be safe out there and have fun while at the Rally. For the first time, I will not be attending this year but hope to se everyone in 2026. Bill1 point

In the past, several people have gotten camping spots for the next years rally. At this time I don't know the exact dates yet and wanted to advise not to secure any spots for next year until I can finalize the dates. I will be speaking with the campground and shoring up the dates and will let everyone know as soon as they are set in stone.1 point

I have driven, and towed a trailer many times, on all of the routes you are considering. I grew up in Idaho and regularly do the rivers accessible from those highways. You will have absolutely no trouble towing your Elite II with your 2500 on any of those roads. Just be sure to: (1) top off your fuel tank(s) just about every chance you get, as there are long, mountainous stretches with no services along those routes and (2) use engine braking (downshift to lower gears) going down steep, long hills. Relying exclusively on your brakes on these roads can burn them out quickly. You have correctly prioritized seeing the Sawtooths in Stanley. I recommend securing a reservation at Redfish Lake, if you can. Those sites fill up long before summer. Mid-week, there are often non-reserveable Forest Service sites along the Salmon River on Highway 75 available for a night or two. Good luck if you get there on a weekend. If your next priority is great scenery, either your 3A or 3B will provide lots of scenic mountain driving. 3A is more consistently scenic, with fewer miles of sagebrush prairie getting back east to Jackson, through Montana. Once you get close to Boise on your 3B, it's all sagebrush prairie from there most of the way on I-84/I-15 back to Jackson. If you choose "3B" through Boise, I agree with Galway Girl that Three Island State Park has good RV camping, not too far off I-84. Regarding your "5B" alternative, a stop at Shoshone Falls on the Snake River may be worthwhile as you pass by my hometown, Twin Falls, on I-84. It is higher than (but not nearly as big as) Niagara Falls. That said, I recommend finding a place to park your Elite II in town (like at Walmart) before heading down to Shoshone Falls Park, as that paved access road is quite narrow and steep. That is the one place where I would not want to take our Elite II. Highway 12 along the Lochsa and the Clearwater (referenced above), although beautiful, is not along the path of either your 3A or 3B. It would be best seen on another trip through "Scenic Idaho." Feel free to PM me if you would like to brainstorm your proposed routes, and possible RV camp spots along those routes, on the phone. I know them all well.1 point
