  1. Slight update. I'm waiting for a thermostat, but I also found the Dometic control box that Ron posted a bit cheaper on https://thervsurplus.com/search?q=Dometic™+OEM+3316230.700+(9600024570)&options[prefix]=last so I ordered one. We're going on a weekend trip and I don't think I'll have either of them hooked up, so maybe next week. Buttoned up the AC unit for now. Works great and it's quiet. I tried to power it with my Honda EU2000 generator, but it didn't turn on. Thought it might, but no bueno. PXL_20251028_001654190.mp4

  2. Thanks CRM for the measurement. I made a graphics file for the front and side decals. Now I just need to find a print shop to print them 🙂

  4. Nice mod - I never thought about putting a bar on the closet door. Another thing that should be mentioned - The bar on the screen door is great for catching the entire door assembly in the event that the wind catches it. However, no matter how it is attached to the screen door the fact remains that the screen door itself is made from rather light weight aluminum. Anyone that places a bunch of weight on that door risks either the catch bar being ripped out of the mounting screws or brackets or (worse yet) the door frame becoming bent. I always try to tell people that are unfamiliar with this issue to please use the Oliver installed grab bars if they feel they need the extra support while entering/exiting the Ollie. Bill

  5. Am glad I invested in this Ballymore Ladder. Makes this job so much easier and safer. A little pricy but considering an ER visit or worse, definitely worth it to me. I can also use it for access to a lot of garage ceiling racks.

  6. I started looking into the Victron stuff, but that's on the back burner for now. If you saw a picture of my garage, you'll notice I don't have garage doors, electrical, or the built out workout area that I told my wife about 🙂 Yesterday, we had a crew out here working on the outdoor cement aprons. Got the dug out and framed. Next is the concrete pour. Garage doors are getting installed in a few weeks and I'll probably put a EG4 inverter and a 48v battery in with a few solar panels for now.

  7. No Oliver logo on the nose would look really strange! We ordered our 2023 naked, and added our own graphic. We've had a lot of people ask what a "Curiosity" trailer was. We've heard "Is that some kind of Casita?", or the guy in Florida who looked it over rally well walking by, but wasn't inclined to chat. He returned the next day to tell me that he'd looked up Curiosity trailers, and that it was a really expensive trailer! No Oliver logo on the nose would certainly seem to cut down on random inquiries and potential sales! Here's a Curiosity brand trailer next to an Oliver at the Hungry Mother Fiberglass Rally. You can barely tell the difference! 🤣

  8. Most likely, they may not have the big swoosh graphic files if they shopped those out to a specialist. If they did their graphics and decals in-house, then the person who used to do them must have left without any knowledge sharing. My assumption is that the folks at their headquarters don't have the graphics or computer skills to reproduce them... it's not hard, if you know how to recreate them 🙂 Maybe I should sell them the files they need to recreate them, but after seeing what they wanted to charge me, I'd be less inclined to do that.

  9. First of all, credit to the Oliver owner that shared the installation of these on his screen door, great idea and product recommendation! I finally got around to adding a push bar to our screen door for ease in exiting and closing, and also resolved an ingress problem, as well. Although both installations offer support, my decision to mount one on the closet door as a grab handle when entering to help pull one’s self up and in, proved especially beneficial! Also, each can be used as a towel or clothing rack. Respective modifications were made for custom fitment, here’s a look at the final outcome:

  10. Excellent points! I find the installed screen door crossbar most useful when opening and closing the combined door assembly; ease in pushing open from within rather than having hand on the actual door handle, and ease in closing for the same reason. It is definitely not designed for weight-bearing, but rather balance assist upon egress and ingress. On the other hand the installed closet door bar is solidly mounted, very sturdy, within easy reach and thus, provides a second grab bar, especially when entering. Previously I would reach out to the bath door frame and/or the counter edge at the microwave for that extra pull up and into. My wife however, being shorter and weaker always struggled upon entry and now, we both find this a viable solution for an easier and safer entry. When positioning the closet door grab bar, I made certain she approved the height more to her benefit than mine; she was elated with the outcome, especially since she has a bad shoulder. Happy wife ……..!

  12. One big naked egg! I can only see doing that for those who want their own custom graphics, like many here have done. I only want our Oliver to look like what Oliver produced when it was new. Crazy for an organization to lose their own artwork!

  13. @jd1923- Looks like you have the old style "Legacy Elite" graphic like mine had. To keep things original, I tried to get that one when I ordered my decals but they said that they were no longer available. Kind of glad they weren't since the newer style is much nicer, IMHO...

  14. I believe it's a Scandvik. On ours the screw-on part cracked, likely from over-tightening. This is s good replacement: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJVE86M/

  15. We have a TPMS on our purchase list but, after your story, it's now at the top. Thanks, Tony

  16. Yes - thanks for sharing your story - even the parts that were not so easy to share. This kind of situation helps us all as both a reminder and (perhaps) as a source of other things that we might consider doing (or not doing as the case may be). Bill

  17. I carry a Safe Jack RV Jack Kit in my tow vehicle. When testing it, I have jacked from the marked "Jack Point." That said, I plan to use the "stabilizer" jacks as well if I must change a tire by the side of the road. As jd1923 noted above, the trailer can shift if the ground underneath one jack point is soft. Three jack points is better than one, and the electric jacks are so easy to use. We also use our Tireminder TPMS system, with monitor mounted on the windshield, hoping to catch any trailer tire issues early! The person in the passenger seat checks the monitor regularly.

  18. Glad you guys are OK and that there wasn't any more damage than you had. I believe that your experience was ( as you mention) partially your "fault" due to not turning on your TPMS. However, the extent of your tire issues is very extraordinary. I don't think that you can prepare for every possible situation while on the road - unless, perhaps, you are ScubaRx 😇. Yes, checking your spare tire air pressure should be done more often OR simply get yourself another TPMS sensor for that spare and remember to turn that TPMS monitor on. I also agree with the advice concerning the use of the onboard "leveling" jacks. Your experience is yet another reason why we bought an Oliver and believe that everyone should consider before purchasing virtually any other brand. Bill

  19. Wow, glad you were able to resolve with no accident or damage! Thanks for the write up, it’s proof how well the Oliver tows. General thoughts: Use the onboard leveling jacks. We’ve been doing this for years, to include at Discount Tire on a few occasions and at campgrounds to remove wheels. The TST TPMS shows both pressure and temperature of each tire. I keep the monitor on the dash and do a visual check every 15 minutes or so. Whatever TPMS you use, use it and keep a regular watch on tire health. Mike
