Busy day on my Ollie, First: If you fixed your battery box support by yourself, you are a stud and have more patience than me. My buddy came over to lend a hand and it saved me at least 45 minutes and several choice words, I'm sure. It's fixed and is now WAY better than it ever was - since it only had a single bolt and no nut for.... who knows how long - likely years. We also used a bottle jack and some 1" wood planks underneath the jack to support it. I did NOT want to crack the grey tank - major concern. But thankfully nearly all the weight held by the jack was where the support bar was also sitting. We used a C-Clamp to straighten up the two bars a bit, not perfectly, but where I felt comfortable. Drilled a new hole and added the same bolt as the original, I actually had in the garage. I was ready with larger stainless steel bolts and nuts, but ended up not using in the end. Used lock tight on both and cranked down on stuff. Also have lock washers and flat washers where appropriate. I will mark the nuts with a metal marker and keep an eye on them. No more internal axle brake wires. Also found the issue with my brakes - thread updated here:

Yes! It was certainly the problem with our brakes for over a year until we figured it out. I know of others who also had the same issue.

Actually, this whole thread has been very helpful and we are very grateful for all the information. Thank you all! We just got home late last night with Hull#1665 right behind us. Lots of learning to do but we are enjoying g the resources here and on YouTube.

Finished adding a shower valve. This should be a lot more functional than the stock setup.

I think it would fit, but not when doing a minimum radius turn. Would also need a stone guard as the tank is made from PE. Will ponder this when I get back to Ollie in June. Thanks for the idea! GJ

GJ, I am wondering if you could mount one of these to the front of the SeaBiscuit box - https://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Transfer-Storage-Container-Motorcycle/dp/ You would need to purchase the locking mount and likely need to reinforce the box to accept the weight of this configuration. I do as well, and would like to have the extra space and security over the OEM basket. At the 2025 Ralley I spoke to the Seabiscuit Team and suggested that they consider an enhancement for the Olivers. My suggestion was to increase the box depth (Fore and Aft) to include jack inside. That would gain about 5" of additional space less the volume of the jack. My only problem, and reason for not following your lead is that without massive solar and a nuclear power plant (600+ amp Litho's), I have to carry a gas can. Not good in a sealed box with stuff that could spark a leak. For safety reasons I would not be safe carrying one in my TV bed (with a sealed cover), in the cab of our TV,or on the back of Ollie. With your set-up would it be realistic to mount a 2 gallon fuel in front of your box in mini basked with a stone guard? Another mod could be to address the gas can issue dirctly. Since gas fumes are heavier than air, maybe having a wire mesh for part of the bottom of the box to keep the box fume level below the lower explosive limit should there be a gas can leak. What do you think? GJ

Lot's of good replies here already! Am I correct in thinking new Oliver TTs now come with the Dexter D52 (5200 LB) Nev-R Lube axles? Some of us with older hulls had D35 axles installed and like Mike mentioned, have upgraded. So, you should be good here. Either way, OTT installs Dexter Chinese made leaf springs rated at 1750 LBS each. Although, we've heard rumors OTT is talking with Alcan Springs for USA made springs. Given you're buying new in 2026, you could ask them about this! Search for keyword 'Alcan' for more information. Many of us think 1750 LB springs are under-sprung (200 Oliver owners have installed Alcan Springs rated at 2750 LBS each), and there have been several failures of these springs documented. Our Oliver used to waddle like a duck when crossing bridge seams, gas station entrances, or speed bumps on an angle. Not anymore, and since our Oliver suspension is now handling itself, the truck tows better and I was able to remove the Andersen WDH. The Alcan Spring upgrade is a little over $1K plus labor.

Hey John. Our DC to DC charging system is the detachable cable. There is a receptacle under the bumper at the back of the Pathfinder and there is a receptacle under the cargo box at the front of the trailer. We don’t leave that connected all the time so we made it detachable at both ends. Hope that makes sense.

The stock suspension is fine. We replaced everything after 9 years and a lot of miles (100K+). There have been some cases of leaf spring failure, but when I had ours replaced they looked fine. I’m just a believer in preventive maintenance (too many years in the Army). There was no reason to replace my axles, except to upgrade from the 3500 lb axles and also get bigger brakes and never lube bearings. Our camping is a combination of nice roads and not so nice roads. The second test of the “bad” battery just finished. That battery started out fully charged this morning and only lasted for 6 1/2 hours. It again shut down with so little voltage that the charger will not recognize a voltage and start charging. The other two batteries took the load for over 12 hours, the inverter shut down at 10 volts as it should. The charger was able to begin charging immediately. This second test confirms that this one battery is defective in some way and can only handle a load for a short period of time. No telling how quickly it discharges under a much heavier load. My Battle Born testing is done! Two good batteries and one bad battery. Now I’ve got to find something to do with these two batteries.

This is a park we’ve been meaning to try. We usually stay at Mother Neff State Park when in the Waco area. Midway looks nice. Mike

The weather finally cooperated with me today and I fixed a few things on the camper. The last thing fixed was the replacement of the front axle brake wire. Do you think this could have been a problem with my trailer brakes? 🤣 No test drive yet, but I suspect we will no longer have issues with intermittent brakes on the trailer.
