  1. The Living Vehicle requires a 3500 truck as a tow. Is there a HD electric Vehicle?
  2. Yes it is, and I agree with you about wanting a permanent fix.
  3. All this makes it rather embarrassing to know what we paid for the first Elite II to come off the line after the hiatus of 2009-2013. The Outlaw Oliver, Hull #050. We just had it ceramic coated by CGI out of Murfreesboro, TN. Come see it at the rally in May, it looks better than brand new.
  4. It's been that way since we sold our 5 year old 2008 Elite in 2013.
  5. Did you actually lay eyes on the sticker that stated “3,760 lbs payload?” That seems awfully high for a fully tricked out (Denali) 2500.
  6. Every trip you ever take will have unpredictable weather.
  7. John, you can disconnect the cable from the camera but it requires some simple disassembly. I did not want the cable to be run on the outside of the trailer and this does allow you to run the cable through a small hole. I am in the process of installing ours on the new 2022 Silverado 3500. I ran the cable in through the front wall of the trailer down low. From there, it enters the cabin under the bathroom vanity. I ran the cable down the street side with all the other wiring and plumbing to the back. Then out through the back wall inside the spare tire cover. I made a stainless steel bracket then painted it gloss white to hold the camera. It is mounted above the spare tire.
  8. We've driven the Million Dollar Highway over Red Mountain Pass on Hwy 550 between Silverton and Ouray. Most of the Youtube videos label it the most dangerous road in America. Personally, I didn't find it to be any big deal. This was after several locals in Durango warned me not to try pulling the Outlaw Oliver over it. We've driven the Moki Dugway several times both up and down with no problems as well as the Shafer trail in Canyonlands NP. Maybe it's just me, but roads like that don't particularly scare me. But I've never gone over the edge on one either. Tali, OTOH was petrified. She's emotional like that...
  9. Our trailer was the first LEII sold after the company restarted the trailer line in 2013. There is a tiny sticker inside the door frame, only visible when the door is open that has our VIN on it.
  10. I have an appointment on 22 March to have a ceramic coating applied to Hull #050 by CGI from Murfreesboro, TN. It will take a couple of days to complete and the will come to Tupelo to do it.
  11. If we see you coming, I'll alert the media and we can be cool together. 😉😄
  12. The plaques were started sometime in 2019 because there was a problem that arose using the last 4 digits of the VIN as your hull number. Oliver had been assigning hull numbers in that manner since the first trailers were built in 2007. Each year's production just started with the VIN that was one number higher than the last years final VIN. Then in 2019 the state of TN told them they could no longer do it that way and each year's VIN's had to start back over at 0001. Rodney Lomax asked me just how important the "Hull Number" was to the owners. I replied that in 2008 Larry Harmon (Hull #003) and I had discovered the way the trailers were numbered and we started keeping up with who had which number way back then. We owned a 2008 Elite (Hull # 026). I told Rodney that most current owners would feel they were important enough to keep the system going. Thus the numbered plaques. At the annual Oliver Owner's rally in 2019 at Guntersville, AL, the appropriate plaques were given out to each of the owners of older trailers that were in attendance to be mounted in their trailer. Since then, the plaques are installed at the factory upon completion of each unit.
  13. This is a nonissue for all trailers manufactured in the past 4 years or better.
  14. Or, You could just post the weight carrying capacity.
  15. The main advantage of the 2-5/16” bulldog hitch is to take advantage of the greater towing and weight carrying capacities provided by the larger truck’s that many of us have upgraded to. There is, however a certain amount of cool factor involved as well.
  16. Thank you @sarah1971 for rescuing this trailer. Personally, I always thought it looked like a cobbled together mess. You have made it whole and beautiful once again.
  17. I won’t speak for @Dunnet but as for myself, even though I have an iPhone, I will continue to use window’s for everything else. Windows still holds the title as the world’s most used operating system on desktops and laptops with a 39.5 percent market share. I have hundreds of thousands of files stored on a 144TB NAS system. These files contain every photo me or my family has taken in the past 100 years plus mp3 files of every Billboard Hot 100 hit from 1940 on. The windows programs that keep all this organized and accessible work very well. It ain’t broke and I don’t want to learn a new system.
  18. I sent you a PM.
  19. For any meaningful size changes to be made, the molds will have to be changed. It's the plugs that are expensive. That is the piece that the molds are pulled from. Whether it would require new plugs will determine how much it costs Oliver to make said changes. My prediction is same width and height as the OEII. I've been told several times that it takes longer and is more trouble to build the Elite because of working within the size constraints.
  20. You will be dissatisfied with your towing experience with this vehicle. It’s just not enough truck for an Elite II.
  21. I would hate to lose the propane function of the refrigerator. Even with a "more efficient" 12 volt compressor fridge, it's still using battery power. I'm more concerned about battery power than running out of propane.
  22. With the exceptions of A/C and microwave, everything in your camper runs on 12 volts DC. Lights, water pump, fans (including the one in the furnace) radio, television, and controls for the fridge.
  23. I don't think this is an ongoing quality control issue. Things that are glued on can fall off. Nuts on bolts can work loose. Remember folks, a travel trailer going down the road is a 6.0 scale earthquake going through a hurricane. Lots of stresses.
  24. Great shots.
  25. No, just one more thing to lug along with you and potentially leave behind, additional cost with no additional benefit.
