Thank you ctshort09! Mossey

As I have said before, with the limited space in our SUV, I really like to carry items that serve multiple needs while camping. Pictures of my filter stand and storage container. Mossey

I spent about $100 and you just pick your filter cartridges to fit your needs. I don’t think any water filtration company has any better quality filters than you or I can purchase online or locally. I don’t drink tap water or cook with it as I have a preference for distilled water and usually start our trips with 8 gallons of water distilled at home and resupply as needed while on the road. This is my home made water filter from common water equipment available at HD, Lowe’s or Amazon. Mossey

Good morning Hobo! We stayed section F, about as far from the lake as we could get and I use a short wire cable to secure my propane access port. I believe you were just down the road from us. I have already put 10 or 12 of the cables in my OTT to give away at the rally to anyone interested. "the dog house" will be in the same spot.

Need help looking for the owner of this Oliver and photo

We were on the same page Mike, it just took me longer to find proof. -
All of the supply side pipes are 1/2” in my 2017 LE2. Home Depot and Lowe’s stock Pex pipe and fittings. There are push type fittings, such as SharkBite and also crimp fittings which need a special crimping tool that will work with Pex pipe. Cold water pipe is blue and hot is red. White pipe is also available. Some people do not trust SharkBite fittings, but I have used them at home and never had a failure. They are great in emergencies.

Jeff, thanks for bring back fond memories of the Indian lands of New Mexico and Arizona with your pictures. Thinking about Chaco made me shiver again, that’s a weird place. Is the survey maker in the first picture on the mountain with the communications equipment in Big Bend NP? -
I moved my television to the center mount location in March 2019 for many of the same reasons mentioned in this post. I used Mike and Carol's suggestion of a door knob protector to cover the old wiring hole into the attic. I did not like the looks of the door knob protector because the mounting tape was too thick and it left a noticeable gap between the protector and the fiberglass. So I went back to Amazon and bought a 2" white plastic hole plug that worked perfectly. The only problem is it came in a bag of 25. So I have 23 left now because I sent one to DavidS. If you want to do this mod or already have and need a hole cover, just let me know via PM and include your address. I drop one in mail for you. I also found some small white foam circles that I used to cover the bolt holes.

If you remove the old light, you might find some manufacturers identification inside. Also check with the OTT service department. It looks like etrailer has some lights that look similar to the early model Oliver’s. Check here: https://www.etrailer.com/s.aspx?qry=Rv+Porch+Light&furl=-vw-1

Generator NOT Charging Batteries
mossemi replied to RoadPheasant's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Do you have a neutral bonding plug plugged into your generator? If not, the surge suppressor with block the incoming current. See the following post for more information. http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/generator-use-with-hard-wired-surge-protector/ Mike -

I replaced mine in May 2019 and it just may be the best $100 I ever spent. You will need 5' for each large window and 2' for the bath on an LEII or 17'. Mike

Trouble running Easy Start A/C with Honda 2200

Good thinking Ken. When something like the generator struggling happens, it very easy to go down the rabbit hole and making it very complicated. I often forget to sit down and think about it. Mike -

What type of knee surgery did you have? From my limited experience with knee surgery, only 5 times, hot generally means infection. Have you been back to the doctor? Are you doing physical therapy? I know everyone’s pain level is different, but I stopped pain pills 2 days after an total knee replacement. And remember, ice is your friend for swelling. Mike -
One of our forum members makes mahogany shower mats that might help with noise issue until you figure out if it’s a problem or not. See this post https://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/shower-mat-production-starts-next-week/#post-173535. I purchased a teak mat from teakworks4u.com before Foy started making them and I think it distributes my weight more effectively. Mike

Pantry Lights We have used several different battery powered, motion detecting LED lights in our pantry. And we have never been happy changing batteries or waving a hand to try getting the lights to come on. I have seen Snowballs pantry LED fixture and really liked that application, so I went down that rabbit hole looking for my own solution. These are the lights and switches I used. The battery tray on my 2017 LEII is fastened with 2 bolts farthest inboard on both rails and 2 blind rivets outbound on each rail. I increased the flat washers on the bolts to 1" diameter fender washers. There wasn't any access to the bottom of the rivets for me because the bottom of the battery box sits over the wheel well. My tray is made by MORryde is mounted with stainless bolts and rivets. My battery tray is assembled with steel rivets. Mike
