@Sak I had a cover on our former “Demonic Penguin” AC and it never blew off in high wind. It can be cinched down pretty tight. We never had issues with birds or bugs at all. Patriot🇺🇸

@jd1923 with that Cummins diesel engine brake, your truck and new trailer brakes should last a long time👍🏻. I rarely use my truck or trailer brakes on long mountain passes with the engine brake. We are really appreciating the diesel engine brake right now out here in the Colorado Rockies. In my experience, Ford absolutely nailed it on the diesel engine brake in our TV. It works excellent. Nice job on the rebuild! 👍🏻 Patriot🇺🇸

Chris, If you want to save your self future rear view cam headaches consider ordering the Furion cam that Oliver now installs. I had the Voyager and it had water intrusion. The gal at Voyager sent me the replacement admitted that they have had many of these rear cams returned due to leaks/fog up. The seals in the Voyager just are not that good and over time leak. Personally I would not reinstall another Voyager based on a google search of owner user reviews and what their customer service rep told me. On one of my Oliver service visits I had the new Furion cam installed and it’s serving me well. If you’re going to all the trouble of a replacing your cam, maybe consider a clean and neat install/upgrade to a Furion. Happy Trails, Patriot🇺🇸

We are based camped in Estes Park Colorado at Spruce Lake which is about 1.5 miles from the entrance of RMNP entrance. We went on line and locked in 2 separate days of park access plus passes. Park plus gives us access to the entire park including Bear Lake. We will be here for a week with so much to see. We are heading into the park at 10 am this morning. A brisk 48d here this morning 64 and full sun is the high, great weather all week. Things can change fast in the mountains so we stay weather aware all the time. We could hear the Elk bugling while enjoying dinner last night, awesome! A small herd of 6-8 deer walked by our site yesterday afternoon.😋 Onward! Patriot🇺🇸 Dinner last night, I cheffed up season and garlic rubbed tenderloins with a smoked blue cheese crumble. Breakast- our own venison sausage, cheesey eggs and a waffle. Roughing it! 😊

We are camping in the in Colorado Rockies as I write this post. I can’t begin to express how happy we are towing our LE2 with our F350 6.7 PS Diesel. You can get by with a half ton towing the E1 for sure. As our LE2, we prefer a 1 ton to get the job done for many more reasons than I care to write. Safety and long haul comfort is at the top of our list. We just could not pass up the Cabelas in Lonetree Colorado yesterday.😊 Patriot🇺🇸

Thank Bill, much appreciated!

I agree when parked off the road for higher visibility and especially insurance reasons. 👍🏻

Last night we night we stayed at Washington State recreation area. https://dnr.illinois.gov/parks/camp/park.washingtoncounty.html A really nice CG @$20 per night elec only and a dump station. Super quiet, concrete pads, super clean rest rooms/showers, and really nice camp hosts. The park had plenty of availability when we arrived and is only 8-9 miles off I64. @rideandfly yes sir, we will be crossing the Mississippi today. 😊 Onward!

Making our way to out Colorado yesterday we stopped at Buc-ee’s in Knoxville, Tenn. It was our very first time. The barbecue brisket and pork sandwiches “Texas style” were ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ amazing. Just like we remember when we lived in Texas. And just a warning Buc-ee’s Cheddar cheese NUG-EE’S are addicting. Don’t buy a bag you won’t like them 😝. We continued on I40 west to Cedars of Lebanon SP for a nice restful nights sleep. A really nice SP about 7 mi off of I40. Large spacious sites, a nice staff and great place to layover. A few FH sites, mostly W/E sites and a dump station and fairly modern bath houses. We would stay here again.👍🏻 Onward! 😳😋😋😂

Picture frame attachment to Oliver interior walls
Patriot replied to dewdev's topic in General Discussion
We use command strips for anything we attach to the interior walls. They seem to hold up well and don’t leave a residue if you decide to remove them. https://www.command.com/3M/en_US/command/products/?utm_term=cbg-chim-cmmd-en_us-ba-paidsearch-cpc-google-na-na-na-ne22&gclid=CjwKCAjwr_CnBhA0EiwAci5sivt6zGthV_k-A3PwrXFTiYYBZJ0Z9YfAg5n5SCk06uLCMTaARcbUzhoCnwYQAvD_BwE Patriot🇺🇸 -
@Ronbrink I happen to be over at Lowe’s this afternoon and scooped up a (4) pack of these furniture sliders. My plan per your suggestion, is to install these on the 4 corners of my Truma C36 insulated cover length wise. This hopefully will make it slide easier on the bed rug then out onto the tailgate bed rug. Thanks again for the mod idea. Patriot🇺🇸 I installed the above furniture glides and they really work great. We can now slide the Truma out with out giving us immediate access without having to lift it off the bed rug. A keeper.

Ron, Great idea, thanks for sharing. 👍🏻👍🏻 Patriot🇺🇸

Yes, however I have a storage box for the pole to keep it looking sano as it travels in the bed. The light mounting plate will live where you see it mounted and I can easily attach the light and solar panel at base camp set up. The light is plastic and likely would not withstand towing down the super slab underway. The lower profile light mounting bracket should be fine. Mod On!! 😊

Suspension Rebuild of a Classic HD Tow Vehicle
Patriot replied to jd1923's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
@jd1923 Really nice job bringing an extended service life back to your Ram. It looks really great for a 22 year old truck. It should hopefully provide you with many happy towing miles especially knowing you did the work. Last October we were gifted a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge extra cab V6 4x4 by my FIL. He purchased the truck new in 2004. He is 92 now and just does not need or use his Ranger anymore. He wanted to keep it in the family, we are honoring that. When we picked it up, it only had 53k on the odo. Needless to say he did not put many miles on it over the years. We brought it home and detailed the entire truck inside and out. I swapped out the old battery for new, changed the oil and air filters and ran some fuel treatment through it. I even had a new spare installed as it had the original factory still from 04. I found the Leer camper shell you see in the pic for $350 off CL. I took it to a really reputable body shop and had the topper which was originally black painted to match Sonic Blue for $600. I purchased new seals from Leer for all the windows. As I had the shop pull all the windows to sand the topper down. A new similar Leer topper would have cost $2700 plus. I added new black aluminum running boards to reduce chances of the careless door swingers in parking lots. And they really work well. I recently took it to a local shop and had all four original shocks replaced with Bilsteins which I provided and the shop installed for $125 labor. What a difference! I was glad to pay the shop $125 it was a very hot and humid summer day. We just rolled over 60k on this truck which is primarily used as a Lowes/grocery getter. We will have the transmission serviced soon. It’s really been a great little truck, fun to drive and we are grateful to have it. It also keeps the miles off our F350 TV and our car. It’s also reasonable to register at $59.00 a year. I say all this as I can really appreciate ALL that you have done with your Ram. Again, really nice work on the resto! Now enjoy that truck, it will make a fine TV! 😊 Patriot🇺🇸 Our Ranger will be 20 yrs old soon. -
I found this solar powered flag post Led light at HF and am going to give it a try on our next trip. I opted to mount it using heavy duty zip ties vs SS hose clamps for a just little cleaner install. (See unsnipped zip tie) It’s got pretty good reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. I will post up how well it lights up our flag after our first use. The solar panel and light are adjustable. The light can be removed during travel and the mount left in place on the pole. The light will likely need a little tweaking to get it dialed in on the flag. Patriot🇺🇸

Hey Max, I just saw your post. We have had the best success calling the LG front desk after 2pm during the week. The staff is super nice and very helpful. Hope to see you there! 😊
