  1. We have had the RVlock V4 lock on our Oliver since we purchased new and this is year 6. It has worked flawlessly since I installed it post purchase. Just make sure you replace the batteries timely. The lock will let you know when the batteries are getting low with a lower tone or faint beep. RV lock was very responsive the one time I needed to replace our key pad with the new and improved silicone key pad. The RV lock key fobs are ok. We primarily use the key pad. RV lock is a Chi/com product and you get what you get. If someone really wants in your trailer the door lock is not going to stop them. You might want to call RVlock and ask about frequencies. No, you cannot turn the fob off unless you remove the battery. The fobs are hit and miss…some work well for a long time and some don’t. We keep a spare set of keys locked up in our TV should we misplace or loose our keys. The key pad has worked great for our needs and I would replace our RVlock with the same model given our field experience. I have never heard of this key lock. Do you have a link? Enjoy your Oliver and go camping!
  2. As @ScubaRx says, invest in the Proven Industries lock and go camping. If you pull into a CG that just does not feel right, rely on your gut or sixth sense move on. 48 days out west last fall and we never had a concern about our Oliver being stolen. Certainly wise to be really careful where you boondock as well. Leaving your Oliver unattended in a remote location is certainly a more welcome invite to a thief. Have the best insurance you can buy. Just a note, the search engine on this forum is just well….ok at best. If you have a subject you really want to dive into try and google it first. This approach will likely get you to the topic on this forum much faster. Many questions you may have will likely have been covered already and if you can’t locate them through a google search ask away on here or take deep dive in Oliver University. Oliver goes to great lengths to provide DIY videos and manuals. Welcome to the community and go enjoy your Oliver! Here is a quick link to a Proven Industries lock. - https://www.provenlocks.com/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=623644265&gclid=Cj0KCQjwoP_FBhDFARIsANPG24P24V7cZluGHT9hqzS1qag2vawvTXC7gbReb0s4vqcAJnJaBvIhm9saAmYsEALw_wcB
  3. That is the valence which holds the privacy shade and night time shade. When you pull either shade down it has tiny magnets which attach the bottom of the shade to the interior window frame so the shade does not naturally hang straight down away from the window frame. I think and really do hope there will better future designs of this shade configuration. As it stands now, 💯 just not a fan of the look or the function. It needs to be completely redesigned IMHO.
  4. If they are black concave pits, I don’t think barkeepers friend would work. I believe it only works for light surface rust.
  5. Landed at an old favorite CG in upstate NY near Rhinebeck called Interlake. Took a few photos of XPLOR with the “blood moon”. I can’t say we actually saw a total lunar eclipse. However the moon was really really bright and beautiful as ever. An AI take on the Blood Moon. 🤷‍♂️ The "blood moon" on September 7, 2025, refers to the reddish appearance of the moon during a total lunar eclipse, a phenomenon caused by sunlight scattering through Earth's atmosphere. In astrology, this event signifies a powerful time of revelations, emotional breakthroughs, and accelerated change, particularly in relationships and personal paths, as it occurs in the intuitive sign of Pisces. It is a significant astrological event, seen as a "portal of change," that challenges individuals to balance fantasy and reality while fostering spiritual growth and authenticity. What is a blood moon? A blood moon is a total lunar eclipse, where the Moon appears red or orange due to sunlight passing through Earth's atmosphere and casting a reddish glow on its surface. It is a striking visual event, often described as a fiery or copper-colored moon. Astrological significance: Time of Revelation: Eclipses are powerful moments for breakthroughs, bringing hidden emotions and long-held truths to light. Pisces Energy: This eclipse falls in the mutable, intuitive sign of Pisces, emphasizing themes of healing, empathy, compassion, imagination, and spiritual growth. Balance of Opposites: Occurring in Pisces and opposite its opposing sign Virgo, this eclipse highlights the need to balance intuition with discipline, fantasy with reality, and creativity with responsibility. Accelerated Change: Lunar eclipses are seen as agents of upheaval that accelerate personal and collective transformation, dissolving stale patterns and demanding action. What to expect: Emotional Intensity: You may feel a heightened sense of emotion and intensity, with significant shifts in relationships and personal dynamics being almost inevitable. Personal Reflection: The event encourages shedding old habits and beliefs, fostering authenticity and courage to embrace your true self. Spiritual Awakening: The energy of the eclipse promotes deeper spiritual connections, trust, and the ability to surrender to the flow of life. Karmic Adjustments: This eclipse is seen as a major checkpoint for karmic adjustments and potentially, grand finales or new beginnings. This photo of XPLOR and our TV was taken while sitting next to our campfire. A peaceful evening for sure camped in the Hudson River Valley.
  6. Have you tried barkeepers friend on the rust spot? And thanks for the heads up on Dawn dish soap. We use it for just about everything.
  7. In other words, you don’t buy green bananas Bill? 🤣
  8. Certainly not for the new retro 50’s style roll up privacy shades now in the 26 YM. Those shades are absolutely uglier than a mud duck!! 🤣 My bride nailed it when she said they are “ugly”. Just calling it as we see it. Just no beauty or seamless function with these new shades. Oliver just might want to go back to the drawing board on these shades. I sat in the 26 YM and studied the lower bars on the shade when rolled up as pictured. Both privacy shade bars actually loosely hit the interior window frame when the shade is rolled up. It will rattle and beat the black interior frame senseless when headed down the highway. 🤔 The valance gives a very retro dated look and removes the sano clean interior look we are accustomed to. On our current trip my bride and I have really enjoyed the cool air cross breeze we have experienced with our current sliding windows. Unfortunately this open window cross breeze goes away with these new awning windows. You may still get air flow with the Max Air fan on, but you totally loose the natural cross breeze for sure. Just my observations. Edit - take good care of your sliding windows! As mentioned earlier, Lippert no longer produces them!
  9. GJ, Per Josh White at Oliver Sales the induction cook top is standard and LP is no longer available on 26 YM Olivers. AI says - An induction cooktop does not use a lot of electricity compared to gas or traditional electric models; in fact, induction cooktops are the most energy-efficient type of cooktop, using 5-10% less energy than standard electric models and up to three times less than gas, according to ENERGY STAR. This superior efficiency is due to the way induction works: it heats the pan directly using electromagnetism, requiring less time and energy to cook food compared to other methods that lose significant heat to the surrounding air. Why Induction is More Efficient Direct Heating: Induction uses an electromagnetic field to heat the pan directly, rather than heating an element and then transferring that heat to the pan. Faster Cooking: The direct heating process is faster, meaning the cooktop is in operation for less time, which reduces overall electricity consumption. Less Waste: Because heat is generated in the cookware itself, less heat is lost to the surrounding air compared to gas or electric coil stoves. How to Calculate Usage To estimate your electricity usage, multiply your cooktop's wattage by the number of hours it's in operation. For example, a 2,000-watt (2kW) cooktop used for one hour consumes 2 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity. Factors Affecting Electricity Use Power Level: Higher power levels will consume more electricity. 🤔 Cookware: The cookware must be compatible with induction to be efficient. Cooking Time: Shorter cooking times naturally lead to less overall energy consumption. All this said, I still like our LP.🔥
  10. Ok, I will ask. Who was the other Oliver owner and what hull #?
  11. Bill, We dropped our trailer off at Alcan Springs at 0730 and went to breakfast. Approx 2.5 hrs later we got a call from Lew at Alcan that our Oliver was Alcan’d!! 😄 Well worth the trip to Grand Junction and put that new Beautiful Super Duty in the wind! 🇺🇸
  12. Jd, Nice work on your new running gear. If I am looking at this correctly, I see you installed your wet bolt zerks facing out or towards the inside of your wheel/tire. This makes it a more difficult to get the grease gun in that much tighter space. While having my leaf packs installed, I had the techs at Alcan reverse my zerks for much easier access when greasing them — now facing the opposite direction. Hopefully you are not too far along and can reverse your wet bolt zerks to face the inside for easier access. I promise it will make it super easy greasing those zerks later on. 😊 Patriot 🇺🇸
  13. As we make our way north, we booked a few nights on the fly here at Promise Land SP near Greentown, Pa. A really quiet and well kept park. Nice clean bathhouses too! Our low tonight it will be 60 and breezy. Perfect with windows open wide for great sleeping weather! $27 a night electric only. The Pennsylvania Pocono Mountains have a special beauty about them. This pic was just a quick ✅ of our courtesy lights before dark last night. Love the Oliver exterior lighting when its needed. Spicy Kickin Chickin on the grill!! 🤪
  14. Indeed, we use a Weber Q1200 for grilling. I like the idea of an induction plate! 👍🏻
  15. Yes, good eyes! It’s a 1Up USA Super Duty tandem rack. Pic is last fall out at Devils Tower. This rack allows for full rear light and brake light visibility even when the bikes are covered.
  16. Both galley and wet bath sinks are now preformed “fiber granite” made in house.
  17. A Bluetooth speaker hangs under the cabinet in the galley. No more radio/cd player. We already have a JBL Flip 6 in our Oliver. Great sound!
  18. Rear awning style egress/exit window. A shot of the gray and black tanks electric blade valve switches.
  19. The wet bath still has the frosted glass on the interior and black framed tilt out awning style tinted exterior window. Turn the little T handle to open and close. This is the same T handle for all awning windows. . Ext shot -
  20. The new Dometic 12v frig. It has an ok size freezer but overall still a smaller interior than our 3 way Norcold.
  21. We have a set and rarely use them. Fine quality, but heavy as a boat anchor! 😊
  22. The new induction cook top cools off quickly when turned off. This is because the heat is generated directly in the pan and not in the cook top itself. So as soon as the current is turned off the induction cook top will cool off immediately likely allowing for more prep space. I am pretty sure the former LP cook top will is no longer available when ordering a new Oliver. It is likely a whole lot cheaper in the assembly line to simply wire the induction CT and no issue with LP leaks. 🤔 That said, we sure like cooking with our LP! 🔥😊
  23. Had to stop at the brand new Buc-ees in Rockingham, Va today on our way to Pennslyvania. The brisket sandwiches are absolutely delicious! 😛 Surprisingly it was not slammed full of people. Gotta love hearing them announce Brisket on the Board!!! 😄
  24. Ollie in the wild! While making our way up to New England to enjoy the fall weather we landed a gem of a CG staying 6 nights at Stoney Fork Federal CG in the Jefferson National Forest. This is CG located near Wytheville, Va. We paid $16 per night electric only with my America the beautiful pass. This is a small CG with only 50 sites most of which are E only sites. We spent time in the Walker Valley and the Big Walker Mountain Lookout Tower. Our lowest temp at night was 46. Incredible sleeping weather and we never used our AC during our entire stay. There is something very special about the beauty Appalachian Mountains. While on a nice hike we found an old foundation with this write up on it. Quite a bit of history on this piece of land. We both enjoy excellent lunches prepared by the Amish women at the Walker Valley Market in Pearisburg, Va and then Burkes Garden, in Tazwell County. Ollie in the wild.. My bride enjoying a nice warm fire. Venison sausage….🤪 from woods to table. 🏹 200 steps to the top of this tower and yes was windy at the top. The beauty to behold at the top.. We won this sign at the 2024 Oliver Rally. Coy Gayle hand crafted it for us. It now travels with us everywhere we go. Thank you Coy for such a fine sign! 🇺🇸 Finally video from the top of the tower. My bride enjoying incredible views of her home state. IMG_3810.mov This is the historical write up we found at the old foundation we discovered on our hike. Rufus was quite the Bear hunter would be an understatement.
  25. Jd, Looking forward to your axle and spring install. If you post a pic of your Oliver with no wheels, axles or leaf springs I think that will be a first on the fourm. 😄 I look forward to see pics of your retro fit! Mod On!! 🤩
