  1. Fortunately our carrier Blue Cross Blue Shield (Federal Employee Program) provides coverage during overseas travel with Geo Blue. It’s still a really good idea to call and understand exactly what is covered while traveling. 👍🏻 https://www.bcbs.com/articles/coverage-goes-where-you-go-travel-worry-free-blue-cross-blue-shield Patriot🇺🇸
  2. Indeed HE HAS RISEN! Happy Easter!
  3. Back on January 17th of 2020, we had an appointment to meet @topgun2 to show us his Oliver LEll aka “Twist”. We throughly enjoyed the 4 hr visit and all the extremely helpful information shared by Bill. And after a factory tour on Jan 21st, and we ordered our Oliver on January 31st!! I mention Bill; as we are not taking any credit for the below checklist. I know we all have checklists for our Oliver, however this is one that you need to have but hopefully will never have to use. We actually carry this checklist with us every time we travel whether pulling the Oliver or not. We don’t have a blank checklist to share in a word doc as ours has our personal info already on it. You should find it fairly easy to personalize your own from the info on the attached pics. So consider taking a few minutes and create a medical checklist that hopefully you will never need. In the event you do it’s invaluable. A special thank you to Bill aka @topgun2for suggesting one of the most important checklists we will always carry and hope we never need. Safe Travels Oliver Family! Patriot🇺🇸
  4. All good ideas Chris however paint protection install really requires a learned highly skilled technician. Then Oliver would likely have to warranty the install. The only PPF I use is 10 mil XPEL and I have had our both our Ollie corners, dog house and bottom quarter panels done. It’s expensive but it does protect the gelcoat. I would be surprised if Oliver would begin installing PPF. Having had most if not all of our vehicles professionally covered with XPEL.com my guess is Oliver would leave that up to the owners to have it installed. Your idea of mud flaps seems plausible! I would like to see this offered as an option. Naturally these options would further drive a new Oliver to an even higher price tag. I could go on, but I do not want to derail the thread. All this said, it never hurts to ask! 😊 Patriot🇺🇸
  5. Maybe Jason could talk about the new Truma air conditioner retro fit and how this is working out for Oliver owners? Pros and Cons? Suggested talking points: what all is involved with the installation of the new Truma Aventa with regard to the added roof wedge modifications, pricing and installation time? It is fairly well known that Truma retro fit owners are not really overly happy/excited about having a Dometic manual thermostat to operate the Dometic furnace. Will there be a fix to having a more modern looking digital thermostat vs the out dated older style mechanical thermostat controlling the heat only on the Dometic furnace? For the substantial cost of the Truma Aventa install I would like to see a more modern looking digital thermostat included in the price of installation. Edit - 4/12 An optional digital thermostat to control the Dometic furnace has been recently approved by Oliver. This will be an option for owners who wish to upgrade from the mechanical Tstat to the digital. An additional talking point could be the optional upgrade hard wired Truma panel which allows for temperature control of the Truma AC in the event the Truma remote fails. This new Truma control panel as I understand it replaces the existing Truma hot water heater panel and integrates both the Truma AC and hot water controls into the new panel. Patriot 🇺🇸
  6. @topgun2 A possible solution! 💡 Here is a photo of my basement light. So while at the rally since you are a bit shorter and smaller in stature would you be willing to crawl inside our basement and add additional LED rope lighting. We sure would appreciate the effort and as a plus we could make a mod video. I feel sure we could get a camera and light mounted on your hat. Just think about it, and please don’t feel like you’re under any pressure. 😄 Thoughts?
  7. We have not had any concerns with the switch location. My concern is about me actually forgetting to turn it off. 🙄 😅 Fortunately this has only happened once. That said, you might be able to rewire it to a location of your choosing. Patriot🇺🇸
  8. Headed to the Oliver Rally in May. And so looking forward to it! Congrats on your new Oliver, enjoy your special delivery day! Patriot🇺🇸
  9. Yes, just inside the outside access panel to the fridge. Mud dobbers especially don’t like what ever repellent that is used on the collars. It has worked well in our experience.
  10. Camping Prep reminders! Hull #634 is offically dewinterized. Woot! 😄I think it took my wife and I about 15 minutes to dewinterize our OLEll. A special thanks to Service Manager Jason Essary for his excellent video tutorials. It really makes this task seamlessly easy. We also did the annual decalcification process of our Truma which takes approx 2:15 hrs after installing the decalcification tablets. Super easy with the Truma. Pro tip - 😎 we place a dog flea collar in the Truma (pic) and refrigerator compartments. Along with screens this mod really does help keep unwanted insects out of these areas. We will soon sanitize our fresh tank, go though all of our systems checklists check all fasteners and get ready to roll! Happy Camping Oliver family! The white coiled up plastic strip is a flea collar. Along with mesh screens It has proven to keep spiders 🕷️ 🐜 and other flying insects out of our Truma and frig compartments. Happy Trails! Patriot🇺🇸
  11. John, I have not used any other cover except this one. So I have nothing to compare it to. It came highly recommended by a cyclist friend and after checking out the reviews I actually purchased (2). I thought I was going to double cover the bikes and and figured out I could but did not need to. So now I keep one as a spare. The online reviews also are pretty solid. So far this cover really helps keep our bikes clean and dry and protects them from UV and prying eyes. The cargo net works good at keeping the cover from billowing while under way. The down side with the elastic cargo netting is a PIA to untangle when you initially remove it. If you decide to order it you will see what I mean. That said, it serves the purpose intended for. So whenever I cover the bikes with the yard stash cover the cargo netting follows. So far this combination has worked very well. Naturally if you’re only covering one bike an XL Yard Stash cover may work depending on your bike size. Nice Ebike by the way! Patriot🇺🇸
  12. The 1Up license plate relocation kit is designed specifically for 1Up bike racks. I feel sure that it will work on any 1Up bike rack sold. There are pre drilled holes and it bolts right up. here- https://www.1up-usa.com/product/license-plate-holder-2/ Patriot🇺🇸
  13. One thing really important I would suggest you consider adding to your checklist or maybe I over looked it. Consider adding a check to make sure your TV and Oliver’s electronic brake setting is in sync. How to Adjust Trailer Brake Controller: 6 Steps 1 Step 1: Plug in the Trailer Wiring Harness. ... 2 Step 2: Allow the Brake Controller to Calibrate. ... 3 Step 3: Select Personal Settings. ... 4 Step 4: Set the Maximum Output. ... 5 Step 5: Adjust the Sensitivity Level. ... 6 Step 6: Manually Activate Brakes as Needed. Happy and Safe Travels! Patriot🇺🇸
  14. @Dwain Kitchens I don’t know what TV you are going to be using if you purchase an Oliver or any TT for that matter. I can say that having really large electronically adjustable defrosting featured tow mirrors is one of the nicest visual tools to have when towing. The wonderful feature we enjoy when towing the Oliver is it’s only the width our TV and we do not have to extend our Ford Super Duty mirrors at all. The lower blind spot mirrors are an invaluable tool as well. In my experience larger mirrors are very critical to a safer towing experience. You will find they are a really invaluable and you will come to really appreciate larger tow mirrors when backing into a campsite especially in low light conditions. If you’re open to suggestions, consider going to a truck dealer of your choosing and sit it a truck with large tow mirrors and then compare it to a truck with standard mirrors. It’s a 💯 game changer. Just another thing to consider about when you decide on a TV. Patriot🇺🇸
  15. Interesting… This June 16th we will have our owned our Oliver 3 years. We have not experienced any unusual glue, resin or strange orders in our hull or interior since we took delivery. At delivery we had a very faint odor of resin which dissipated or off gassed pretty quickly within the first few days. Oliver really did an amazing job of cleaning our interior. @Wayfinder I hope you can locate the source of your issue. Patriot🇺🇸
  16. 1Up USA also sells the optional license plate relocation kit which I also installed. This allows for our license plate to be legally visible when we cover our bikes during travel. The XXL Yard Stash covers work great in keeping our bikes clean and dry. We have driven through some strong rain storms and they get the job done.
  17. I was on the 1Up USA website and noticed they now sell cargo carriers. So I decided to post up a link in case anyone is considering a cargo carrier for their Ollie. We have the 1Up Super Duty (2) bike rack and are very pleased with the fit, finish and fitment. These cargo carriers look really nice. USA made! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 https://www.1up-usa.com/product/60in-hitch-mounted-cargo-carrier/ Patriot🇺🇸
  18. Welcome to the Oliver family and the forum. We are happy to help with any questions you may have! Patriot🇺🇸
  19. @John Welte Hey John, Sorry to hear about your bike rack failure what brand bike rack was it? It might be helpful for others to know. Here is the rack we are using and are extremely happy with. It is pricey but I think the best made engineered two bike rack for the Oliver. We and other owners have logged several thousand miles with bikes on this rack with zero issues. Our bikes loaded including the rack itself weigh right at 107# well below the Oliver bike rack limit of 150#. A plus with the aluminum finish is looks and blends in well with the Oliver rear bumper. As stated in my previous post it will require a mod to the Oliver factory receiver. https://www.1up-usa.com/product/2in-super-duty-double-bike-rack/ Hope this helps, happy and safe cycling. Patriot🇺🇸
  20. Congrats on your Oliver! Wishing you many safe miles and big smiles as you begin your adventures! David and Kathy
  21. 5 pillows…well I suppose that can be a challenge. 😁 Good for you to come up with a solution!
  22. No issues with reaching my drain valve either, then again at 6’3 I have fairly long reach/arms. I usually open the valve at home and just water the yard. Patriot🇺🇸
  23. Gotta love a mini hoist along with the TV where tongue weight is not a concern with the gen basket loaded. Nice work!
