  1. I was just researching solar tax credits and learned that it appears this may apply to our new 2020 Oliver. We will forward this info to our CPA and see how it shakes out. Open source google info- 2020: Owners of new residential and commercial solar can deduct 26 percent of the cost of the system from their taxes. 2021: Owners of new residential and commercial solar can deduct 22 percent of the cost of the system from their taxes. Does the solar tax credit apply to RVS? This program applies to all 'dwelling units' including houses, mobile homes and boats, and the current solar tax credit is valid for any RV that has been accepted by the IRS as a second home for tax purposes. ... The credit has been extended to the end of 2019, but scales back then disappears by the end of 2021.
  2. I read this in the 2020 manual, so it appears screening is a no go on the Truma unless I hear otherwise from service.
  3. Yes, thanks! We did get the electric antifreeze kit. I will check with Truma on the vent plug. I sent an email to Jason Essary asking if adding a screen will void the Truma warranty. I will post up his reply.
  4. I don’t want to derail this Ollie photo thread, but to answer your question our understated swooshes which we like and preferred are silver met and yes we felt that 4 days was long enough for our shake down. In the sun the silver met swoosh’s are really very light colored and matches our Tundra paint as close to perfect as we could ask for. We farm blueberries aka (super food) on a small scale, so we needed to get back home to the Blue Ridge foothills and get super busy. Leaving on a Saturday was perfect as the weekend campers were all settled in and we had the road(s) for the most part to ourselves. Hohenwald is only 450 mi from our home. A great trip home through Tenn and Western NC. We are fortunate to be able to park our Oliver at our home.
  5. I have just completed installing SS screening to the frig vent (pic) and installed the screen for the furnace vent to keep wasps, mud dobbers and other home seeking critters out. Also installed the AC Cover to keep birds from nesting. My question for Truma owners that have done this install is did you use the same size mesh for the Truma as you did for the frig? (See mesh size pic I used for frig). If not what size screen did you use? I want to be sure I do not restrict air flow to the Truma system. I may just call Truma and ask if this is even recommended? I solicit thoughts of others that may have already called Truma and asked this question or completed this mod. I will try and contact Truma today and see if this will impact airflow and VOID the factory warranty before moving forward. Thank you, -David
  6. A photo of our new 2020 Ollie Hull# 634 during our 4 day shakedown at David Crockett Campground. “Thin Blue Line”
  7. Maybe give ABlifestyles a call. At the time we ordered they did not advertise the full mattress covers for the Ollie, they made our set. We have not slept on them yet, but they are not noisy. Our experience with AB lifestyles has been great.
  8. Yes the factory lock is metal on both sides.
  9. We ordered the V4 just like carnivore “on sale”. It was a very easy install. Having had two of these locks on our previous RV and really liked the convince of the fob or push button key pad. We never had an issue with the function or durability of the locks. We keep a spare key locked in our TV should we need to manually unlock the the door. The install is clean and it looks and performs as it should. We kept the original lock as well.
  10. We sure are glad you and the Mrs are ok and no injuries Bill. I am going to look into purchase a few of these for our home and vehicles.
  11. Full on Yes. We opted for the convenience connection and as well as the generator basket as we plan to use/run our 78 lb Honda Handi eu3000i generator when boon docking. I think the option is a nice add and it makes sense if you have opted for the generator basket. To answer your question, no this option does not come with a shorter power cable. I ordered and have a 10’ 30 amp power cable made by a company here in Raleigh, NC. 🇺🇸
  12. ABLifestyles has really nice well made products and has taken great care of us! And made in South Carolina USA 🇺🇸! -Patriot
  13. When placing our order we asked our sales person about custom changes regarding electrical outlets. The information we were told last January was that Oliver was no longer allowing custom changes. You may want to check with Oliver Sales staff. -Patriot
  14. My plan for now is to continue to carry our bicycles in the bed of our TV. Out of the weather and out of view and relatively secure. Not optimum but very doable. The reply above is all 1UP USA sent. Once we take delivery figuring out the bike rack is on my list of many things to do.
  15. The reply I received from 1UP today - This setup would not be recommend as the expander will cut your tongue weight in half which would take the overall weight over the recommend maximum. Thanks, 1UP
  16. We are new very soon to be Ollie owners. In learning from members on this forum and other Ollie owners locally this is a good product to add to your black and gray tanks to help with lubing the blade valves you mention. Other owners will hopefully chime in. I have a few bottles of this and plan to use it per manual directions. I am sure there are other products out there, but this was highly recommended to me by a few Ollie owners/friends it has decent reviews.
  17. Less maintenance is a great thing. Decisions decisions 😄 many punt on the front decal for your reason mentioned. One thing we are leaving is the Oliver LEll on the sides. Without it...surely questions about make and model will be the flavor of the day. We chose the front logo...it’s not difficult to remove early on so I was told by Rodney Lomax if we choose not to remove it. I think we’ll just have a look first.
  18. Yes, we ordered the pinstripe swooshes in met silver, simple and matches our TV. There are a gaggle of color choices, but the general swoosh design is the same whether solid or pinstripe. I also like the naked or no logo Ollie, no swooshes, for it’s clean look. I think the pinstripe swoosh will remove easier than the solid swoosh if we decide to remove it. I don’t think we can wait to long if we opt to remove it as it may shadow the gel coat...not sure. Many go with a personal graphic design decal of their choosing post delivery. There are a few cool personal graphics out there that we liked.
  19. Mossey really important details/observation thanks. We take delivery of our Ollie on Tuesday, I will check at some point. I sent 1UP an email asking if the combination would be approved for use on a TT. And I will post up what they say when/if I hear back.
  20. Yes, that’s what I was thinking. As long as 1upUSA fully endorses the adapter approval for use with a TT in writing, we may consider it.
  21. This is good info, Thank you. edit- before ordering I will have to call and understand from 1upUSA if using the 1.25 hitch expander/extension on a Travel Trailer is considered completely safe with their 1up super dutY (2)bike rack if staying within 150# limit. The hitch expander changes the dynamics of the rack. For liability reasons USA 1up would have to state and fully back in writing both products are approved and tested for Travel Trailer use. Just risk adverse here. I will shoot them an email and ask at some point before ordering.
  22. Good to hear. Now the only thing needed is a 2” receiver to accommodate the 1up bike rack. Here is a rack we may consider - https://www.1up-usa.com/product/2in-super-duty-double-bike-rack/
  23. There are many great buying points too! 😄 👍🏻🇺🇸
  24. A little helpful on nitrogen tire refills - How to Find Nitrogen for Tire Inflation Locating a tire merchant that offers nitrogen, is as easy as going to the Get Nitrogen Institute and searching based upon zip code. Typically, a tire fill up will cost around $5 and some shops even offer free top offs and pressure checks if you opt for nitrogen when you buy new tires. It is best to shop around and call a few tire stores in your local area to obtain the best deal. It is worth noting that it is perfectly safe to add regular air to a tire that has been filled with nitrogen. This info was gleaned from this link. https://www.carsdirect.com/car-repair/using-nitrogen-for-tire-inflation-advantages--disadvantages edit- I tried typing our zip code in on the Get Nitrogen Institute search bar, and it did not work.
