Great pics and thank you for sharing! I hope you bagged a nice big bull elk! Elk is one of our favorite red meats besides Buffalo and Venison. -Patriot ๐บ๐ธ

Since my solar panels are under roof, yes I do keep it plugged in 24x7 keeping my AGMs charged. Naturally I donโt have the frig on. We run a dehumidifier only when itโs over 41 degrees outside. Our Ollie has been fine plugged in since we took delivery in June of 2020. - Patriot ๐บ๐ธ

We turn on our Norcold refrigerator on 8 hrs before loading it up with food and set it on the #9 highest setting. Itโs ice cold when we load it and it keeps the food cold until we return home. The freezer also keeps food really frozen as well, no complaints here and see no need for a fan. Having 30 amp shore power here at home really helps with systems check and trip prep. ๐ -Patriot

Welcome aboard neuhausca! All the best with your decision to consider an Oliver. There is a lot of great information on here and Oliver University. -Patriot ๐บ๐ธ

I use TST TPMS and use rubber valve stems with zero issues. ๐๐ป Roll with whatever works best for your application. ๐

Oliver will take care of you. Submit a work ticket and follow up with a call. Oliver took excellent care of us regarding a wheel balancing issue I had while under warranty. I have had a stellar experience with Oliver warranty service. A side note, I had steel valve stems installed and was not happy with them at all and went right back to the rubber stem and have had zero issues. The rubber stems are flexible steel is not. Any road debris that hits the steel valve could likely cause a leak in the valve. Just another thought.

We winterized yesterday being risk adverse. I think it took maybe 25 minutes to winterize taking our time. The Truma makes winterizing really easy. In the fall we pack and carry our winterization hose and pump with us along with a few gallons of anti freeze should we take off to a much warmer costal climate.

Hey Thank you for the kind words Katjo! ๐ We have AGMs and we keep it plugged in all the time. We have met a few folks that full time in there Ollie and they have no issues with being plugged in 24/7. We also run a neat little dehumidifier when the weather is above 41 degrees. -Patriot๐บ๐ธ

Hi Darrell, We used a Calmark cover the first winter of storage and it worked well. As others may have mentioned your solar panels will not be working if you choose to cover your Ollie. Last July we had a steel building aka โOllie Hangarโ built at our home to help keep our Ollie looking new. We have 30 amp service so keeping our Ollie charged is not an issue. We could not be happier with our Ollie parked right here at home vs storage fees and security concerns. We also really like not having to cover our Ollie with our Calmark cover as it makes it so much easier load up and take off south for warmer weather this winter. We choose not to have our stabilizers down when itโs parked in the hangar. Happy Camping! Patriot ๐บ๐ธ The hangar structure dimensions are 13โWx25โLx11โH allowing for plenty of room for washing and waxing. The actual slab is 12โx55โ. Also no need for lighting in the hangar as the Oliver lights are more than adequate for any work I need to do.๐ Blueberry Hill where true camping tales and funny stories are told. ๐ I had the 12x55 slab poured with just enough fall that even in the hardest rain water does not run under the Ollie.

We just returned home from an amazing 8 days at Huntington Beach SP only 247 miles away from our home. Located right on the Atlantic Ocean with 3 miles of beach front and no high rises hotels or homes ever yay! Our weather the entire time was stellar! We took our bicycles and rode every path on the park. There are plenty of alligators ๐ and we spotted a few while out riding in the lake and swampy areas. We are mountain campers, but we need a beach fix this will be our go to SP. The staff at this park really worked hard to get it back up and running after Ian blew through at high tide. Itโs amazing what the park staff and volunteers got accomplished cleaning up in a very short turnaround . Our site was less than a 5 min walk to the beach. I even cheffed up some fresh blackened shrimp. ๐ค A very memorable stay! ๐

Itโs Been a Month of Camping and 5 Days of Hurricane Ian
Patriot replied to mossemi's topic in General Discussion
Mossey, Well welcome back and yes you were missed! Hopefully you did not have any extensive damage from Ian. So far here in Western NC we are just having lots of rain and wind. We hope you had a great trip and look forward to hearing about your adventures! David & Kathy -

Wanting to delete carrying any gasoline in our truck bed, we recently purchased an eu3000is and I installed this LP conversion kit by Hutch Mountain -https://www.hutchmountain.com/collections/propane-natural-gas-conversions/products/honda-eu3000is-propane-natural-gas-gasoline-tri-fuel-conversion-kit As soon as you install this retro fit LP conversion just know that it cancels the Honda factory warranty since itโs not a Honda endorsed product. Hutch Mountain customer service is excellent and assured me that they have never had issues with running LP, LNG or gas in this configuration. The reviews are pretty strong at ๐๐๐๐๐. Per HM - Extended Runtimes on 30lb propane tank: Full load-10hrs, half load-20hrs, quarter load-30hrs FullSizeRender.MOV My wife (copilot) and I can both manage to lift this into the gen tray or our TV bed. We plan to carry this in in the bed and not in the gen tray as it weighs in at 130# dry. We could carry it in the gen tray as per a phone call to Oliver Service this morning the gen tray is rated for 150#. We conducted our first gen test the other day and the now LP eu3000is performed flawlessly. Not a bad lift onto our tail gate.๐ช๐ป It runs super quiet, fits in the gen tray with actually a little room to spare. Naturally if you are splitting hairs on cargo capacity with additional weight this size gen configuration may not be for you.

We heard from our friends, they had a very long night but survived. No power, but they are ok.

Thank you SeaDawg, you are right, we can only hope at this point.

We have dear friends with a home on Marco Island located on a large canal and with a fairly large boat docked at their home. Marco Island is now under curfew and we have not heard from them since 3:30 pm today. They opted to ride the storm out ugh. Reported storm surge of 8-10โ. Needless to say are very concerned about their safety.

This storm is going to be a rough one to say the least the Governor's office said millions will be without power. Thoughts and prayers for a hedge of protection to all in its path.

Personally I would not consider any SUV or 1/2 ton pick up a โgreat towing vehicleโ after towing with a one ton diesel F 350. We started out towing our Oliver LE2 with an 2014 Tundra with an WDH hitch. It towed ok, but really worked hard in the mountain passes. We soon sold and moved to a much safer and capable TV. We took a hard pass on the 2022 Toyota Tundra for our needs as we felt it was a marginal TV with regard to 1400# cargo capacity, braking, and power after crunching the numbers. 1400 lbs or 1500 lbs of pay load is splitting hairs with regard to being well with in safe legal cargo limits with what we carry. I donโt want to think about how much cargo capacity I am crunching numbers on..ever. Even if you weekend camp with an empty Oliver you may still be really pushing the limits of your cargo capacity when it comes to insurance consequences IF something goes wrong. We presently tow with a one ton diesel and enjoy the mpgs, power, diesel engine brake and especially the total comfort level. Donโt let the tail wag the dog. ๐ Patriot ๐บ๐ธ

Mt. Pisgah and the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway is a gorgeous area with some of the highest elevations. The Smoky Mtn Expressway is also a really pretty drive. My wife and I rode our dual sport motorcycles from the Smoky Mtn Expressway all the way to Front Royal, Va several years ago. It was a memorable week long fun adventure trip. We live in the foothills of Western NC and have spent time at Mt Pisgah. So glad you enjoyed the beautiful vistas of the BRPโฆitโs a national treasure for sure. Check out Mtn Mitchell and Grandfather Mtn as well for some incredible views. We love living in the western NC. ๐บ๐ธ -Patriot ๐บ๐ธ

I use this on our Dometic Penguin it fits great, no birds or bee nests. You will have to google it. I think I ordered it from camping world $20 on sale at the time. There shipping was snail mail slow. -Patriot ๐บ๐ธ
