  1. Welcome back and glad you had minimal damage from Ian and your Oliver was not damaged. I feel sure that our great Moderators are working closely with Matt and Jason on a solution to the registration vetting. It sure is a wonderful cause helping others recover! Merry Christmas! Patriot ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  2. The TST TPMS we use monitors the tire pressure and tire heat and does not require the tire to be in rotation for a reading. It also works fine on the stationary spare. Patriot ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  3. John, I have the TST TPMS and I replace the batteries in the sensors once per year. I also remove all batteries on any Ollie remotes when we winterize. Just replace with fresh in the Spring. Old batteries can weep and become a mess if left too long in any device. Patriot๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  4. Sounds great Bill, look forward to seeing that install! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Merry Christmas to you and Debbie! - David & Kathy
  5. @topgun2 Maybe we can combine this duplicate thread with RideandFlys? And Merry Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ again! ๐Ÿ˜Š
  6. @John Welte Oliver actually calls the aluminum basket a โ€œstorage basketโ€. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I personally donโ€™t have any concerns about running our (LP fueled) Honda in the storage basket. When we do run it, it will be for a short duration to cool the interior down, recharge bats, and not for an extended period of time such as sleeping. Gotta use extreme care. Other owners may chime in and share a different point of view and their experiences. - David
  7. Ralph, I sent you a PM with a few questions regarding your Oliver service experience. David
  8. Hey Chris, First off thanks for the kudos! My wife and I both stepped into our trailer while it was running in the gen basket during our shake down and we did not feel any vibration at all and you could barely hear it. Needless to say we are happy. We purchased a hydraulic lift table from harbor freight to initially load the gen onto the tailgate. It works great. From the tailgate to the gen tray we just both lean in, lift and set it in. -David
  9. We opted to roll with a Honda eu3000is Inverter. This past summer, we converted this inverter to Tri fuel (LP,LNG, gasoline), installing the HutchMountain LP conversion kit. I think we paid right at $2400 and change with my military discount at Northern Tool. I donโ€™t have a lot run time since the unit is brand new. We did a shake down here at home this past summer and really were impressed with how super quiet the unit was in eco mode while running our OLE2โ€™s 11.5 btu Penguin. The front quick connect made for an easy fuel source delivery from our 30# tanks. This coming May right before the rally, we are having the 13.5 BTU Truma Aventa AC installed by Oliver Service. Since the Aventa has no easy start available, we are glad we now have the eu3000is inverter. Pros - Itโ€™s a Honda and it is really whisper quiet and Hondas have a very long history of being extremely reliable, clean energy, electric start, manual cord pull back up, super easy to maintain. No more carrying, treating or dealing with smelly gasoline. With the LP kit itโ€™s a much cleaner burning engine with regard to exhaust fumes/emmisions. Itโ€™s not as portable as the smaller Honda inverters also meaning it cannot be just randomly picked up and stolen. So I list this as a Pro. (Yes I know if someone wants it bad enough, they will figure out a way). Our 1 ton TV cargo capacity can easily handle the weight of this inverter without any concerns. Strong owner reviews of the eu3000is and HM LP conversion kit. โœ… Cons - So yes, it is heavy weighing 130#. My bride/navigator and I can manage lifting this inverter off our TV tailgate into the gen basket relatively easy. It is on the higher end of cost for a generator including the LP conversion kit. A link to this LP conversion - https://www.hutchmountain.com/products/honda-eu3000is-propane-natural-gas-gasoline-tri-fuel-conversion-kit Note- installing the HM LP conversion kit you will loose the Honda warranty since itโ€™s not a Honda product. The customer service at HM is ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ in my experience. I highly recommend this company. A link to the Honda eu3000is - https://powerequipment.honda.com/generators/models/eu3000is We also own a Honda eu7000is we purchased new which serves as our home portable back up generator. This pic is actually from yesterdays 3- hour power outage here in Western NC. We rolled out the eu7000is and it just purred along and kept us with all the power we needed to stay warm and continue on. Itโ€™s a Honda, super quiet, and extremely reliable in our 7 years of ownership. Edit 4/23/23 We sold the below Honda eu7000is after having a 24KW LNG whole house generator installed. The 24KW LNG standby aka last Jan.

  11. Rivernerd, This past summer I installed the Hutch Mountain trifuel conversion kit - LP, LNG, gasoline.https://www.hutchmountain.com The Honda eu3000is runs whisper quiet off LP. We ran our gen in our initial shake down after the LP conversion and were pleased with how quiet it runs even while sitting in the gen basket. You are right about tradeoffs. The trade off with the Honda is itโ€™s a bit heavy. The upside is no gasoline storage to be concerned with. Due to its size and weight itโ€™s not so portable that a thief can just pick it up and walk away with it. Lifting it in and out of the gen tray takes two people with strong backs. We look forward to seeing how well the Honda runs the Aventa post install in May. I think it will be plenty of clean inverter gen power and run our Ollie fine.
  12. Congrats and wishing you many safe miles and smiles! Itโ€™s all about the journey not just the destination. Patriot ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  13. We just scheduled with Mike Sharpe at Oliver Service for a May 8th install of the Truma Aventa Eco. May 8th was the next available opening in Service to have the install done. We already have reservations for the 2023 Oliver Rally at LGSP so we took the early May date for install. Mike said they will need our Ollie for 2-3 days to complete the install. He also said the Truma Aventa Eco also uses the existing internal condensate drain line incase anyone was wondering. We are really looking forward to a clean fit and factory finish. Oliver Service has always truly exceeded our expectations for any work performed in the past. If youโ€™re interested you may want to give Mike at Oliver Service a call and get an install quote and hopefully get on the service install calendar. 14. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May your 2023 Camping and Travels be filled with miles of smiles! Patriot๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  15. Here is the PH neutral soap I use when washing CC TV. This was highly recommended by the tech that did the Ceramic coating. I feel sure any PH neutral soap would be fine. I have been traveling and did not have the photos of this soap available. Here is what I use. -Patriot ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  16. Our TV paint is completely covered with XPEL.com 8 mil paint protection. It really maintains a nice shine and protects the paint from road rash nicks and dings etc. Itโ€™s also completely ceramic coated which does not mean maintenance free. A little easier to wash yes. I use a ceramic fusion spray every third or fourth wash to maintain the ceramic coating glossy shine. It is highly recommended that a PH neutral car wash soap be used when washing a ceramic coated vehicle to extend the life of the CC. To keep our CC looking itโ€™s best for the long haul there is a little additional elbow work involved to keep it looking great and shedding water at least in my experience. (Link below) We are going to continue to maintain our Ollie with simple washing and waxing. After long trips we typically give our Ollie a good detail after we arrive back home and so far this has worked really well for us. We have found all XPEL products work extremely well. https://www.xpel.com/ceramic-coating-fusion-plus Patriot ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  17. Bill, Beautiful work! I think you still may have another step to go. You may want to consider anti bird nest proofing your structure by eliminating every flat level or shelf area where birds can build a nest. Once they start nesting and flying in and out they will make a terrible mess bird poop ๐Ÿ’ฉ bombing your Ollie. Just a thought. I went to great lengths to eliminate any possible flat surface nesting areas in my Ollie Hangar and so far itโ€™s working perfectly. No feathered renters and no bird ๐Ÿ’ฉbombs on our Ollie. ๐Ÿ˜… -Patriot ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  18. We are likely a really long way from seeing โ€œgreenieโ€ hydrogen powered cars and trucks. We donโ€™t even have an adequate modern electrical infrastructure for EVs. That said, I agree Bill the Hydrogen R&D is interesting for sure. In the mean time I will continue burning โ€œDinosaursโ€ aka fossil fuel. ๐Ÿ˜Š Patriot ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  19. Frank, Very cool! A totally blast from the past โ€œpunโ€ intended? ๐Ÿ˜Š Thanks for sharing! Patriot๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
  20. I am not at all surprised to see Toyota R&D looking at developing hydrogen fueled cars and trucks. Nothing in-depth in this article but hydrogen fuel research looks promising. A hydrogen powered V8 would have my attention. Initially I like the ideaโ€ฆ.Varoom Varoom! ๐Ÿ˜Š https://www.foxnews.com/auto/toyota-hydrogen-powered-pickup-suv
  21. Amen Steve!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Š
  22. Steve, You sure got your monies worth out of those AGMs! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  23. Interesting shoe rack! Necessity is the mother of invention and now making your Ollie yours.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป We typically donโ€™t travel with a lot of footwear (usually 3 pair ea) for the two of us. We carry a pair of Merrell walking shoes, reliable crocks, and our old hiking boots. These are kept outside of our Oliver usually in the bed of our truck in a small plastic tub. We just make it a practice to not wear or store our shoes inside our Oliver. Germaphobes? ๐Ÿ˜… hahahaโ€ฆwell yes I guess you could say that. Some CGs can be pretty nasty places to walk around, not to mention the some of the bath houses. We donโ€™t wear shoes inside our brick and motor home so we donโ€™t in our Ollie. Our quick slip on pair of pretty much weather proof campsite crocks are usually stored under the steps for quick and easy access. Just different view point on shoe storage or as itโ€™s been said not one size fits all. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  24. Good catch AZ Wonderer! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
