AS have plywood floors that can eventually rot. The quality of AS is not what it used to be. AS's solar package capacities are small, Oliver's quality....and all of the above comments, for me, made it a easy decision to go with a Oliver.

Dan: One thing not mentioned that you might want to conside is the resale value of the Oliver. I noticed that on the Oliver classified forum one used Elite II took 5 or 6 months to sell that did not have solar panels when used Elite II's with solar sold within the same week listed.

I contacted Oliver as I was trying to use my Genesis stove connected to the Oliver quick connect fitting. Oliver told me that the pressure at the quick connects is 11 inches of water column pressure and that since Oliver has a pressure regulator at the tanks you should not use a second regulator at the stove. SteveCr's approach might be the best solution for using the Ollie propane. A couple of other options are: 1. For those stoves using the small 16.4 oz bottle, you can purchase a fitting to refill these small bottles from a 20 lb larger propane bottle. 2. There are hoses and fittings that you can purchase so you could connect the stove to a stand alone 20 lb propane bottle. This would allow you to use the stove's regulator, but you would have to bring another propane bottle with you. If you come up with another way. lets us know.

My Oliver came standard with the Zamp connection on the side of the Oliver pre-wired for connection of mobile panels. You should contact Oliver sales to confirm the connector is standard. The 340 watt Oliver panels and controller are well matched to keep the batteries charged, even in the winter in New England, so why wait to later, since you can afford them.

Condensation problems with fiberglass walls?
dewdev replied to AuthorSP's topic in General Discussion
Hypervent matting is available from a number of vendors on Amazon at a more favorable rate. Only down side is you will need to cut the matting to size. A shart pair of sizzors work fine. -
Truma AquaGo Comfort Not Staying Powered, No Error Code
dewdev replied to LaurAd's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
You mentioned a possibility of a vaper lock in the propane line. Did you try starting up the stove to confirm that you have good propane delivery? I am surprised that Truma was not more helpful. -
We ordered on Amazon the same magnetics that Mike and Carol have in their picture and they came with screws and double sided tape. We put one magnetic on the bottom corner of the door and (instead of placing the other magnetic on the face of the fiberglass under the dinette seat) the second magnetic was installed inside of the cabinet, out of site, and this installation holds the door open with no problem.

I am looking for an exterior 2 burner propane stove that I can connect to the Oliver quick disconnect fitting. (Oliver tells me a stove without a pressure regulator is required since Oliver already has a pressure regulator in the system at their tanks). The propane gas at the Oliver quick disconnect has a pressure of 11" of water column (low pressure). I have only found propane stoves that have a pressure regulator between the stove and either a 16 oz or 20 pound propane bottle/tank, which is a high pressure system. What kind of exterior stoves do other Oliver owners use that can connect to the Oliver quick disconnect fitting? Also what kind of hose is used between stove and the quick disconnect? Thanks

Does anyone know the propane gas pressure that is delivered to the quick disconnects? Thanks

Pat: How did you attach the pllywood box to the aluminium basket? What kind of paint did you use on the plywood? Is that a cleat on the left side of the box?
-
Pat- Can you post a picture of your storage box?

Maine was pay the yearly excise tax, get the tags, put them on the plate and go camping. Pretty easy and reasonable except for the first time after buying due to the sales tax.

I use the Anderson WDH that came with my 2018 Oliver Elite II. One of the chains has an extra link so the thread count showing at both red bushings are never the same. (The original owner says it came from Oliver that way). I tighten the chains 4 rotations of the socket wrench from the hand tight start, as recommended on the Anderson WDH video. Performace seems fine and the front of the TV feels correct. I have had the chains looser but the performance on the front end of the TV felt sloppy. I have not experimented with tighter that the recommended 4 rotations of the socket wrench. Does anyone else use this method and has it worked for you?

My 2018 Elite II has all the outlets/ports mentioned in FrankC's post.

Overland: The fabric apparently slides into the roller and I did not believe there is any fasteners. This is how one replaces the awning material. I got up on a ladder and grab the corner of the fabric close to the roller and pulled (kind of hard). Be careful not to pull and slide it too much. If you do, you can go to the front side of the Ollie and pull some of it back. Watch the fabric when you roll the awning back in to confirm that the edge is tracking straight onto the previous roll and not sliding of to the side. Good luck.

Mike: Forest Ridge CG looks nice and is a great gateway to Acadia NP. Kind of pricey. Other CG's are not as expensive. Check out the Rockland area where there are 2 CG's (owned by the same people) Rockland is on the ocean. Richard

Bob: Thanks for the suggestion to measure the fabric. The left side (that was not closing all the way) was almost 3" longer than the right side of the awning. I did not do anything with that issue. We did notice last week, while camping, that the awning fabric does not roll up straight but tracks over to the right when cranking it in. With the awning cranked out all the way, I could see where the fabric attaches to the roller. I pulled the awning fabric over so it was equal on both left and right sides. I could not believe it but the entire leading rail of the awning now closes on both ends. The problem apparently was all because the awning fabric was pulled to one side too much. If the fabric tracks straight up when closing that seemed to be the secret. Maybe that will work for others that have similiar issues with their (not so) Carefree Awning.

Seadawg: - What did you do with yours? Did you replace the fabric or the entire awning? Thanks Richard

Of the present 17 Maine Oliver Owners, 10 were in attendance. 2 folks were awaiting delivery. Pretty good attendance percentage for the first ever event in Maine. As with the general camping crowd, the Maine Oliver Owner's are great frendly people. There was a lot of sharing of ideas by everyone. The weather was great. Two days in the low 90's and the remainder of the week and weekend were in the high 60's or low 70's. Great weather for us Mainers. Attached are a few pictures of: - The campground and the Ollies, - Common meetings at night at the fire pit, - Pot luck meal together, - At the Archers on the Pier restaurant in Rockland on Wednesday night. It was great for this Ollie newby to meet everyone from all over Maine. I learned a lot about things Oliver. Thanks to All! Richard

I bought the KTT mattresses this spring for my used twin bed Ollie which came with cushionis. After sleeping on my boat (with upgraded mattesses) for 10 year, I wanted mattresses not cushions. There is nothing better than a good nights sleep. I got the KTT mattresses a little firmer than standard and they are the best and it is like sleeping on my mattress at home, which I also love. I think the KTT's are well worth the investment if you plan on sleeping in the Ollie for extended times. They are a little heavy but not as heavy as my home mattress. Not sure what the weight of the standard floor plan mattress (mattresses) is but you could call KTT and find out how many mattresses make up the standard floor plan (maybe two) and what the weight of each is.

I am having the same problem. The right side (front of trailer) goes in all the way and the left side sticks out about 3". I have this situation when the side rail clamp bolts are tight as well as when the bolts are loose. Spent many hours making adjustment and trying to solve this problem including multiple discussions with the Carefree factory. They have not solve the problem as well. I have to get a ladder and push the left side closed and then tie it closed with a string, prior to traveling with the Ollie. This problem is a real bummer. I really do not want to replace the awning and certaintly do not want a electric awning. Does anyone know if the 2018 Ollie is pre-wired to provide power to an electric awning? If anyone has solved this problem, I would appreciate to know what you have done. Help please ??? Thanks Richard

After sanitazing the fresh water tank for the first time, the tank did not drain and when I looked at the drain pipe from under the trailer it was only dripping. I crawled under the Ollie and blew into the discharge pipe and then the tank started draining, but very slowly. Is that the case that the tank drains slowly through the discharge pipe?

Please share what kind of food items you pack for 1 week camping trip (in an area that has local stores)?

There are many CG's from Federal, State to private CG's. to may to list here. For instance there is Arcida National Park along the Ocean, Baxter State Park which is home to Mt. Katahdin, endpoint orf the Applichian Trail and Sebago Lake State Park, which are both inland. Many many private CG's. Best thing to do is google Campgrounds in Maine for a list or since you have time request for a campground booklet from Maine Tourism or AAA has a great booklet.
