I took delivery of my 2018 Elite II this past December and it was too cold in New England to wash it and wax it. Now that the weather has improved, I washed the Ollie but there are water stains that remain from the roof down to the bottom of the sidewalls, so I have not waxed it yet. Do I need to use a fiberglass rubbing compound to remove the water stains? After removing the water stains, I am thinking that I would apply two coats of wax (which would be polished with a electric polisher after each coat). Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated?

Which one is right for you? Baby Bear, Mama Bear, Papa Bear

We just picked up KTT mattresses in CT a short time ago. I had them manufactured a slight bit more dense than the ones that Oliver buys. My Oliver had a single standard Oliver KTT mattress in it, which was somewhat soft and had some mold on the bottom (it is now at the dump). I like my new KTT mattress a lot better than the old one that was in the Oliver when I bought it. Before getting the new mattress, I installed the Aire-flow™ prevent moisture build-up material for underneath mattresses They KTT's are perfect for my taste. I would say they are as comfortable as the fairly new matteres we sleep on at home. Richard -
Not there for me! I use Google

I vote for and have the composting toilet and the Truma Water Heater. It is nice to not to deal with "Black" water and only deal with "gray" water. A lot cleaner and you do not have to deal with those chemicals to keep the tank fresh and not smell. Go Green! The Truma water heater is a lot better that running out of hot water when the hot water take gets empty. I can wash the dishes, wait for the wife to shower and then take my shower without running out of hot water. ++++

On my (new to me) 2018 Oliver Elite II, I have the manual Carefree awning. Have not used it yet but it has the legs that can attach to the side of the Ollie. I think those legs can also be placed straight down on the ground. Will the Cardfree awning withstand more wind due to these leg supports?

Ray and Susan Huff - I am guessing that you do not use a WDH with this hitch arrangement. Is that correct?

MaxxFan service lubrication repair help?
dewdev replied to John E Davies's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Dumb question. I was looking at John's blow-up of the fan parts and did not see where the circuit board is located. Can someone explain where it is located and how easy/hard it is to replace. Thanks Richard -
Moonlight Mile Amazing for sure

I just purchase the (current) receiver from Oliver and installed it myself. It is the same receiver that you can see on Oliver's web site pictures. They sent me a sticker with the 150 lbs limit. The receiver is a 1-1/4" unit.

I would suggest that you contact Oliver sales group. They should know how the system was designed and be able to give you the information first hand. Let us know here what you find out.

John - Take a lot of pictures and post them here for us dreamers. -
FrankC According to TireTraker, the sensors on the spare tires will sense the road vibration when moving and wake up. As TireTraker recommends, in the morning you can do a "Auto- Update" which will provide data on all the sensors. Richard

Thanks John

I just bought Tire Traker TPMS system but have not installed it yet on the Ollie. I got the six sensor group so I could also monitor the spare tire on the Ollie and the TV. Those that have the Tire Traker brand, have you needed the amplifier? Where did you install the amplifier and how did you connect to the 12DC power?

I can remember back some years ago when I owned by 34 foot Luhrs sportfisherman boat installing a cover on the boat in the fall. I had a plastic coated tarp similiar to the tarps that tuckers use. It was lighter than canvas covers but it was still very heavy and took 2 people to install with a lot of effort. I can not imagine trying to install a Sunbrella or Weathermax Calmark cover now that I am older and then have to worry about not damaging the solar collector and the antennas. I am hoping waxing the Ollie in the spring and fall (before winter sets in) will be sufficient. My fall back position is to install one of those temporary sheds that have the hoops with the rounded top that supports some type of cloth membrane (i think it is some type of plastic). Thoughts and comments would be appreciated!!!

The previous owner (in Michigan) kept it outside. This is my first winter with the Ollie and I kept it outside as well. It gets snow on the Ollie and on the solar collector but it seems to melt guickly on the solar collector and if not I have taken a brush and cleaned off the collector. Even this winter, the sun has kept the batteries charged up. I also plan to wax the Ollie, spring and fall, so hopefully that will be sufficient instead of installing a cover. I haved also debated if I should cover the Ollie in the winter with a cover or a temporay shed but then I would feel I should plug it into power so the batteries stay charged. At this point, I do not plan to install a cover or keep it inside in the winter.

Patriot: I was suprised I could not find it on West Marine. Try Google to find the 3M Ultra Marinewax. Amazon was one of the hits I saw. I like Meguairs Flagship premium cleaner wax as well. They also have their regular Meguiars wax. Used them on my sportfishing boat for years. https://www.meguiarsdirect.com/meguiars-flagship-premium-cleaner-wax-32oz.html

I am consider purchasing a CalMark Cover for my Elite II for use in future winters. I went to their web site and they did not list Oliver Elite II trailers but listed those other fiberglass trailer manufacture's. Has anyone purchased the CalMark cover for an Elite II? How is their quality? Any idea on what they cost?

I also am a avid bike ridder. I agree with John's comments: I have purchased the rear receiver from Oliver and will be installing it myself. I plan to use a bike rack on the back of my Oliver. I will be using a tarp to cover the bikes, as I expect the back of the Ollie to accumulate a lot of dust and dirt, which I do not want on the bike, chain and gears. (I do not want to put a roof rack on my pick-up) TPaulE, I have a couple of alternates to your idea. 1. Roof rack on your TV. 2. Bike rack mounted on the front of your TV 3. If you really want to put the bikes inside, I would use 2" PVC tubing to build your bike rack which could be attached to the sides of the beds so the rack does not move. (not recommended) I built a PVC rack to put in the back of my pickup truck and it works very well. Check out Utube for a video of building this type of PVC bike rack.

Be aware that both the Oliver Elite and the Elite II mostly sell very quickly on the Oliver Classified page. If you see something you like, investigate it quickly. There is also a Facebook Oliver Sales group that has Olivers listed and they sell quickly on the page. Good Luck

I agree with topgun2 comments. I think that the omni-directional antenna comes with a signal booster located in the attic (upper cabinet at the back of the trailer). I have a push button on the cable plate. At my home, I got zero channels with the booster switch off. Once I turned on the booster the signal improved so that I got 6 or 7 channels.

I want to buy Timken US bearings for my Oliver Elite II and have not had any luck in find a supplier at a reasonable cost. I do not want to buy through Amazon because I am afraid they will be selling Timken Chinese knock offs bearings, not real US Timken bearings, as I have seen mentioned in other Oliver forum threads. I spoke to Timken direct and was able to confirm the bearing and cup part numbers along with a part number for a National Seal but they would not sell to individuals, It seems I have been getting the "run-around" from Timken on where I can buy their bearings. The told me to go to their web site locator and the site will tell where I can buy Timken bearings. Timken's web site directed me to VIP Discount Auto. VIP no longer sells parts and VIP sent me over to their parts cousin, O'Riely Auto, and they do not sell Timken bearings either. I contacted every automotive parts store in my state and they do not sell Timken Bearings. I then contacted Dexter Axle and they would sell me their bearings but could (or would not) tell me who made the bearings they sell. Dexter then referred me to Southwestwheel.com and they would sell me Timken bearings. To buy one set of timken inner bearing and its cup, the outer bearing and its cup and a National Seal they wanted $61.18 per wheel which is $245.92 for a set of 4. HELP! Has anyone found a place to buy legimitate Timken bearings? Thanks in advance for your help.
