Bulldog coupler destroys Anderson ball
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to John E Davies's topic in Towing an Oliver
I have had my trailer for 4 months and pulled about 4500 miles so far. I do not have the Anderson hitch because my tow vehicle does not recommend do to unibody design. I am seeing ball wear as mentioned in this most. It is uniform around the surface of the ball. What type of grease are you all using? -
Ball size for hitch
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to Margaret's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
For what it's worth, I have towed approximately 4500 miles with my trailer. I noticed a "gravelly" rattle noise develop recently. I replaced my receiver and ball and the noise went away. I see some wear on the replace 2" ball from Bulldog. I do not have Anderson as my tow vehicle does not recommend weight distribution hitches. -
Convection oven, love it or hate it
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to John and Debbie's topic in General Discussion
We picked up in March with convection option. Have used it off grid with solar pro package and good results. On shore power a baked potato is pretty nice. -
So after picking up Hull #1047 in March we returned home. At pickup I had downloaded the Lithionics app and checked SOC and voltage on all 3 batteries in the Solar Pro setup. Camped with hookups on way home without issue. In my driveway at home when not on shore power and inverter on, I noticed two of the 3 batteries showing current and power draw in red. The third battery did not show any draw. Same behavior when on shore power and charging (only current and power are green). See images below for on and off shore power. I took out a service ticket and Oliver team contacted Lithionics. We did some troubleshooting with no success. Lithionics sent me packaging to return the battery. They disassembled and inspected the battery and then recalibrated the Battery Management System (BMS). They then did a full discharge/charge cycle and report the battery is working as expected now. . đđ Lithionics were awesome to work with. Made shipping easy and great communication. I wish I had understood and monitored this at pickup but hey, ya live and learn right?

X-Chocks Any you using these for additional stability and to prevent rolling? Still use normal chocks too when unhooking.

An interesting study about lithium battery life and storage. https://diysolarforum.com/resources/calendar-aging-and-lifetimes-of-lifepo4-batteries-and-considerations-for-repurposing.263/

#1052 has departed Hohenwald
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to Wolfepack's topic in Delivery Day Photos
Congratulations and happy travels. We were there for pickup a few days before you. Glad you survived the first night under the very intense glare of the factory lights. Despite the intense illumination, we really appreciate the on-site camping. Made our pickup much easier and less stressful. -
Won't impact our travels. When we picked up March 24th, Oliver sales folks said new orders are slowing. They attribute part of the cooling to higher gas prices. I guess it could deter some but with the price we pay for these trailers I doubt it will change plans of most owners. We bought our Ollie to use it and fully plan to do so!

Bath Furnace Was Not Blowing... No Wonder!
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to Nick R.'s topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I picked up my Oliver Elite II in mid March and camped overnight in southern Indiana. Temps were in the lower 20's. I found the bath heat was blowing but not enough to keep bath warm. It was significantly cooler than rest of unit. That was not totally surprising to us and it is the farthest run from the furnace. Is this what others experience at lower temperatures? -

Black Tank and Dump Site Quesions
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to Dwainkitchens's topic in General Discussion
Great advice all. I just picked up my Oliver and it has composting toilet. My first "drain" experience was at the Mothership dumping gray water only. I was surprised to find the Oliver provided drain hose had a leak in it. đ€ą Service team gave me a replacement. Glad it was only gray water leaking out. If I were pumping black water, I would certainly consider upgrading drain hoses. -
Best RV friendly smoker / grill
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to The Shackelfords's topic in General Discussion
These are great suggestions. I too share your passion for smoking of meat (my wife likes smoked eggplant). I do not currently have plans for a smoker in my Oliver. If any of you all want to show up at the Oliver Rally with these units, I will humbly offer my services to do a taste comparison. đ€Łđ -
I am home and learning the ins and outs of Lithionics batteries. I have 2022 Elite II with Pro Solar package (390 Amp/hrs or batteries). Trailer is currently winterized and I am trying to build confidence in the Lithionics App Status of Charge (SOC) that Fritz and others have discussed here. My batteries read ~13.2 volts with no load but have SOC of 98%, My understanding is 13.2 is closer to 50% and 100% would be 13.6. I am trying to draw down batteries and then recharge to allow the algorithm for SOC to recalibrate (thanks Fritz). What reading should I rely on to decide when to plug in to shore power - Lithionics volts? First image is Xantrex with inverter on and small heater plugged in (no shore power). Second is Lithionics readings with heater plugged in. Seems ok. Third image is Lithionics reading with no load (inverter off). Thanks in advance!

Wow wish I had known about that discount before pickup. -
Fridge cold at pickup?
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to Steph and Dud B's topic in Delivery Day Photos
We picked up last week and asked about the refrigerator and if trailer would be dewinterized. It was still winterized and refrigerator was off. This worked out fine as we were able to test refrigerator on all three modes. We used propane first as this cools the fastest. We also learned how to dewinterize which is super simple. -
Hello Oliver family. After a long wait, Hull 1047 has launched. Our time at the Mothership was well spent. Ryanâs walkthrough was thorough and very helpful. Jason and the crew did an amazing job getting us all set up and ready to go. We took advantage of pickup checklist made by Forum regular Fritz and it was much appreciated. Happy to report we found zero deficiencies. Pre-pickup night was spent at an AirBNB less than a mile from Mothership. Spent first night on site without issue. We are currently camped in southern Indiana east of Bloomington. Temperatures are in the 30âs but Ollie is snug and cozy. She towns beautifully. My biggest learning curve is the brake brandishing process and brake control settings. A work in progress. We will spend a couple of days here in Brown County then back to Northern Michigan. Next planned trip is rally in May but I May have a hard time not getting Saunter out ubefore then.

The brake brandishing process is new to me. Does the process described in owners manual need to be done prior to towing the trailer how or can it be done as part of normal use? BRAKING AND BURNISHING BRAKES The electric braking system will need to be burnished-in according to the manufacturerâs instructions in order to obtain optimal performance. This will allow the brake shoes and magnets to slightly wear into the drum surfaces.1. To burnish-in the brakes on your travel trailer, you will need to apply the brakes 20 to 30 times with approximately a 20 mile per hour decrease in speed between braking.2. Allow ample time for the brakes to cool between applications

Advanced Planning for FL trip 2023
DaveAndBecky_NorthernMI replied to ScottyGS's topic in Campgrounds & Parks
Another option is water management district camping. I just booked for April 2022 and found availability after facing same issue with lack of availability. Campendium app for phone is very helpful identifying all options in the area you are interested in. -
Glacier National Park - 2022

Very informative. Most campgrounds limit rigs 25 feet and less just within Oliver EII limits! -
Can we get them to come to the Rally in May?đ€

Cool flagpole pictures all. Anyone putting a cell antenna on one of these poles to enhance signal?

We will be attending also as newbies. We are schedule for pickup March 2022. Estimated hull #1049. Looking forward to meeting and learning
