That's the route I think I'll be going, too. We travel light and I don't see the need for springs with any higher capacity than that.

Discoloration on propane cover
CRM replied to Steph and Dud B's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I had something similar happen on an old boat that had been compounded with an orbital buffer one too many times. The gelcoat became so thin that you could see the fiberglass showing through in spots. I hope that's not what is going on with your doghouse... -
Thanks for the info and pics. My older Ollie doesn't have that notch and I have to keep my current waste nozzle stowed away instead of in the bumper. Looks like I can notch mine as shown in your pics and be done with that added hassle.
-
Looks interesting. Does that waste nozzle fit inside the bumper?

Low water pressure
CRM replied to Oliver176's topic in How to Join and Use Oliver Travel Trailer Forums
I had that happen recently and it was caused by calcification in the flow restrictor / check valve assembly. Soaking both assemblies in vinegar for 20 min solved the problem. In my case the low pressure was only when using the city water. Worked perfectly off the fresh tank. -
I read somewhere that they use a different part number engine block and it's not included in the recall.

Ive tried all those things and still no go.. I can get the screen to cast to the TV but the second I try and use downloaded Netflix or Prime movies the screen just goes black and I only have sound. Also, each work fine as long as I have a good internet connection.

Had no doubt that Toyota would step up and do the right thing. Had little doubt that there was any other way to solve this issue, either... For anyone who owns one, I hope you choose the dealership to perform this swap wisely.

I always download movies to my phone before we leave on a trip, but still haven't found a way to stream them to our smart TV without a high speed internet connection. I've tried Wi-Fi direct to the TV, screen mirroring through a Chromecast dongle, and using a USB to HDMI cable from the phone to the TV but all I ever get is a black screen with sound only. Seems like Netflix and Amazon Prime have all those methods locked down. If anyone has a work around I'd love to hear about it!

New axles may not fit all older sub-frames

That's what I was thinking, which means the early E1's were probably all 50.5 SC too. -

My 2010 measures out at 50.5". Maybe they changed the specs after the shutdown and now have changed them back again? -
Just saw this in the specs for this unit. If I decide to buy one, it certainly won't be one with a black cover!

New axles may not fit all older sub-frames

An important question for anyone who has the narrower spacing shackles- are there any new model Dexter axles that will fit that spacing if their axles ever need replacing? -
Nice job! Adding dual fans was a game changer for us. Where we're currently camping it's 90+ outside and our packed fridge is staying in the mid 30's on AC without any problem. It would sometimes get into the danger zone before the addition of fans.

Thanks for the details. I just looked at mine and the outside of the hangers are flush with the subframe so I assume I'll be OK if I ever need to change my axles. There I go "assuming" things again.. 🤣 -
That's a question for the manufacturer of the AC unit. Many make optional compressor blankets for their units to reduce the sound level when needed and since the compressor is cooled via the refrigerant it usually isn't a problem to run one. A problem can occur though if it affects the flow of air through the condenser coils.

It came from the factory with the 5200lb axles, but I'm not sure whether the EZ-Flex system did too or if it was installed afterwards. I'm assuming that I would be able to upgrade to the newer axles without issue, but I've been burned by assuming before!
-
Yeah, I'd like to know the details too. Already have the 5200lb axles and EZ-Flex but don't want to run into any surprises down the road if I have to change the axles out for any reason.
-
What was different about the new axles that caused them not to be compatible with your Ollie?
-
Best bang for the buck upgrade we've done yet.

My order arrived yesterday and it *did* have the LED light included. Was a little worried with so many receiving theirs without one when buying though Amazon and Ebay.

Molly - the enabler of new experiences

Nothing better than riding and enjoying nature without the worries of automobile traffic. I compete in 12/24 hour races and recently started chasing records so a minimum of 10k per year is pretty much necessary for me to perform well. Was lucky enough to set a cross Florida record back in May, and still paying a price for it so mileage a little lower since then.. 😂 -
What Houghton really should be doing is working on a new control board for these units. One with Dip switches to be able to select whether the fan runs or not with the compressor and the ability to use a standard wall mount thermostat. One for compressor run time would be a bonus, though that problem might solve itself with a standard thermostat.
