Low water pressure in bathroom
Jason Foster replied to Lisa Rae's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
In the video you included, I have the same water pressure in the bathroom as you have in your kitchen sink, so definitely not normal. You might have kink in a hose somewhere. -
I still don't believe it fits. First, the Oliver in my opinion IS essential when you compare it to other worse built, more expensive trailers. It is desirable, but only by a few in the know people who want something that is built well. People who want luxury look for the extravagant and there are plenty of those around. Most of them are being sold by their original owners because they were actually junk. Oliver isn't difficult to obtain and, in my opinion, isn't very expensive. So, is an Oliver trailer a self-indulgence? Maybe, but only after having some real crap over the years. If I had just bought this trailer instead of the handful of other ones, then I would have saved a whole lot of money. Compared to that, the Oliver is really cheap.

For those who use your generator in the rain, for the most part, it will be fine. However, there might be times when water drips down onto the positive and the neutral causing an arc. This has happened to me several times. The first was a non-issue because I saw the sparking and shut it down. The second and last time, it caught the plastic housing on fire and melted my extension cord. If the generator says it isn't equipped for use in the rain, follow the directions. It might just save you something.

Do you find the DuroMax sufficient for everything or just to get through the night?

Custom fabricated mount for bicycle trays
Jason Foster replied to rideadeuce's topic in Ollie Modifications
Very nice. I might have to borrow your design. -
Hold up, ya'll. The top of his hitch says class 3 but the bottom says class 4. Which is it? @rideadeuce can you get a better image of that label?
-
That is terrible but also a relief. I will have to check mine to see if it is the right one for my trailer.

I didn't upgrade! AHHHHH!

I didn't realize I was buying a palace when I got my LE2. Ok, I opted for the thicker mattresses and the roof mounted air conditioner (what? that's standard?). I also purchased the upgraded lithium battery option. However, with all of the options I put on it, it will never be as comfortable or as extravagant as: To me, luxury has a different meaning and something I wouldn't buy for any amount of money. I bought my Oliver because it is the best built, highest quality travel trailer that makes the absolute best use of space in the industry. Lux? No way.

Don't forget, it is an Oliver requirement to go meet them with a six pack of quality beer.

I have a Cummins 4500i and it runs like a scalded dog. Proudly made in America, it looks good sitting on the tailgate of my Ram 2500 which, by the way, is also powered by the 4500i's big brother.

I don't mind letting it run in the rain. However, I want a cover to keep the plastic and metal looking like new. *buys more wax and Armorall* Let me clarify, I keep mine under cover and don't let sunlight bake it or risk arcing electricity when water runs down the front outlets. I have a Cummins 4500i which includes dust covers and rain protection: Even though the covers protect it somewhat, it is still not rated to run in wet weather. So far, I haven't needed it since I have plenty of battery power. But if I did, I would run it under my truck near the back away from the diesel fuel lines. There is plenty of clearance and I position the exhaust out toward the rain.
-
I would start with the dust in the switch scenario mentioned by @Steph and Dud B and @Tom and Doreen. That would be an easy fix. Pop the panel, blow it out with some compressed air and slather the terminals with dielectric grease for good measure. If it is still flickering, dig deeper.

...Has Anyone Ever Really Stopped at, "THE THING?"
Jason Foster replied to MAX Burner's topic in General Discussion
Makes me think back to my childhood: If I had seen a sign that said "The Thing", no one could have kept me away. I'm always looking for weird cool places like that. -
I was joking in my previous post; however, I have used this method in the past. Now I just use my nose. I have a marvelous amount of knowhow that includes electrical and plumbing which covers gas lines. I have never paid anyone to do my own work. While it is true that you can use lighters to find leaks in gas lines, I would suggest that only the most qualified and trained plumbers do this. Everyone else here should either use a gas sniffer, or better yet, hire a qualified professional. You don't get second chances with explosive stuff.
-
My sense of humor is a bit off. Tina tells me that all the time.
-
Nope. I use the lighter method to determine if I have any leaks.
-
I use the cheap, tried and true method of lift and shake.
-
That would make for an incredible skating rink. Well, if space isnt an issue, then that just leaves the plug costs and a viable market.

How much are they currently using and how much is empty?

Boondockers: What IF something... Happens?
Jason Foster replied to BoondockingAirstream's topic in Ollie Boondocking
As a semi-retired rancher, I've been beat up, trampled and broken by nothing more than pasture raised cows. -
That link doesn't work. I could probably change it to PDF.
