jd1923 Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Where are all the Ollies? On this 4th of July, the 250th Anniversary of our Great Nation? In 2 weeks, we'll be camping the Coconino NF, first Walnut Canyon and then boondocking the Kaibab NF just south of the Grand Canyon. But on this special holiday, our Ollie is just parked at home. We enjoyed Prescott Frontier Days, the "World's Oldest Rodeo" this year. Annually, it runs over the 4th of July weekend. It was a fun evening! 🤠 3 Chris & John in Prescott, AZ | 2016 EII #113 | '01 Ram 2500 Cummins!

Galileo Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) Hanging out at Glacial Lakes State Park (near) Starbuck Minnesota. Our second time here as the campground hosts. Been here since the first of July and leaving the 29th. I saw a camp host at another campground that put out hummingbird feeders, so I thought I’d give it a try. This isn’t “elegant” by any means. I grabbed an old fishing rod and secured the handle end under the edge of the A/C - twist-tied it to the TV antenna to keep it from coming loose. (Extreme vibration of our love-to-hate Dometic Penguin 2) Hummers showed up less than 24 hours later. I have it rigged just outside of the rear window so we can relax in bed and watch them come and go. IMG_9854.mov Edited July 13 by Galileo Fat fingers - and more fat fingers. Steph and Dud B Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Association Island campground on the shores of Lake Ontario in upstate NY. This place has an interesting history. The island used to be the General Electric executive retreat. Thomas Edison held court there. Now it's a campground surrounded by water (there's a causeway), but some of the original buildings are still there. The largest, which was a lodge, has been refurbished into hotel rooms and there are dozens of sites and cabins, including many waterfront sites. 3 1 Stephanie and Dudley from CT. 2022 LE2, Hull #1150: Eggcelsior. Townesw Posted July 13 Posted July 13 (edited) Over the past few days I’ve looked through all 39 pages of this thread. Very pretty pictures of “Where Is Ollie”. I have pictures of a not-so-pretty location. During late September, 2019 our Oliver was here for a few days We were parked near the base of this building A hint as to the location A screenshot from the campground’s website At the next campground after my one-and-only venture into NYC our Oliver was parked here. A much better looking location. September 30, 2019. And then again in June of 2026. Libby’s Oceanside Camp, York, ME. One of our favorite campgrounds. Since we’re not able to travel for a while it’s inspiring to see everyone else contribute with really interesting places to keep it going. I had our Oliver in the driveway last weekend for some maintenance and at one point I just sat at the dinette and thought we’ve got to get on the road soon! Agree, started participating in this thread almost 10 years ago. At home working on Ollie, it’s raining, so cannot finish everything today. Hopefully will be on the Blue Ridge Parkway camping soon, will take some “Where’s Ollie” photos, too! Edited July 13 by rideandfly 3 Bill 2015 LE2 2024 F-350 6.8L

John and I don’t think the wire pulled from the axle looks like the culprit (though only the wire from front axle was pulled, the other is still in there, cut free)… only the small section near the hole with missing grommet was nicked. However, there were no warning messages yesterday. Today will be a longer tow, and I will keep the forum updated. 1 4 Oliver Elite II Twin (delivered 3/28/2022) Tow Vehicle: Chevy Silverado 2500HD diesel my Oliver has camped here

Thanks Bill, yes we found a great spot 25 NW of Flagstaff off US-180 towards The Canyon. 1.3 miles of dirt west on FS 191C. Lots of dispersed camping up here. Our first Oliver trip 3 years ago was to the south of Kendrick’s Peak. Now we have a great view of it to our SW! At 7500 ft after a warm day it was 62F at dinner time. I got just the right light and distance in the shot above. The one below, our view from the Oliver entrance, was taken hours earlier. One other camper and 2 trucks down our road all day! 🤠 2 Chris & John in Prescott, AZ | 2016 EII #113 | '01 Ram 2500 Cummins!
jd1923 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 6 hours ago, Mike and Carol said: That’s a frame worthy shot! I will get a print made! What you didn’t know is, as soon as we pulled into that spot, the rear tires of my 2WD truck dropped into a shallow ditch and we got stuck in the mud! (recent monsoon rains) Our truck is in the picture mostly hidden by the Oliver. We’re not leaving until Saturday, the Oliver was in a good spot to level. Let’s spend the night, deal with it in the morning! 😎 Had 74 PSI in the rears. Aired down to 30 PSI. I unhitched the TV and drove it slowly out. Ran down the main rocky dirt road fast to get the mud out of the treads. Lined the truck straight in front of the trailer and backed her out. There was a 30” drop to the “jeep trail.” Don’t try this with your Oliver without a leaf spring upgrade! 🤣 We’re in a new spot just down the road. We have an onboard compressor that came with our Pacbrake exhaust brake. Wonder how long will it take to get these big tires back to highway PSI?
