I'm loading up our trailer for the first trip of the season.

This will be the twelfth season for the Target bathroom organizers that I use in the kitchen. Those suction cups have held up really well, but may have to replace the cups next year.

We keep flashlights by the bed, and by the door, on velcro.

After my microwave tried to escape from it's cabinet twice, I redesigned the cabinet to include a wine rack, utensil storage, key hooks and a smaller microwave that cannot get away.  It also provides an additional work surface when open.

Good luck on you delivery.  Don't forget to take pictures to include those newly implemented storage ideas.

Is that four ways to make fire (plus matches in another drawer) and two thermometers in the cutlery drawer?  Nicely done.  Where are you charging the Eneloops and lithium batteries?  Trying to figure out where to put battery charger and various device chargers without the nightstand.

Between Olivers…

Lol, my wife likes to use the sparker on the cooktop and I prefer the lighters for the grill. And I don’t know how anyone cooks without a blowtorch.

Chargers are in the bottom section of the nightstand drawer. That probably doesn’t help you.

I decided to move the remote display for the surge suppressor to under the dinette, using mountainoliver’s method.

When I did this, I looked at the space under the rear dinette seat and decided that I should try to use this space for storage. There is a lot of wiring in there, so I did not want to just put stuff in there on top of the wiring. I wanted to put a container in there so as to not interfere with the wiring. I measured the area and decided the maximum for the container was 8 inches wide x 15 inches long x 12 inches high.

I found that the Container Store’s web site, in the storage section, has a nice filter in the sidebar where you can put in minimum and maximum sizes for each of the three dimensions, and then they show you what products meet that criteria. Using this I found the Light Grey Poppin 3x2 Storage Bin that measures 8 inches wide x 13 inches long x 8 inches high. Pretty close to a perfect size.

The container comes folded up; you unfold it and place the bottom piece in to give the container some rigidity. It fit perfectly in my trailer. Fortunately, the container is not rigid, and if the fit were a little tight, you could trim the bottom piece to make it fit.

It is flush up against the surge suppressor; I checked the instruction manual for the surge suppressor, and it does not have any warnings about providing cooling space around the unit. So I think I am okay.

On this trip, I am storing extra beer in this compartment.

BTW, the picture also shows a flat blue tray sitting on top of the wheel well. In this tray I keep the folders Oliver sent with literature and a DVD for prospective buyers that I show Ollie to; I keep some canvas tote bags on top of the folders.

David, I'd be a little worried that if you stopped hard, your box could shift forward and possibly pull some wiring loose, particularly if you had something heavy in it. I wonder if you could make some sort of stop to prevent that from happening, or maybe tie the box somehow to the battery box support behind it?

Hey, everyone. I just wanted to thank everyone for keeping this thread going!

I've not had a chance to comment in the thread -- heck, I've not had a chance to read the thread in detail -- because I'm just finishing up getting the last of stuff sold off or in storage for going full-time. Have spent several stints of 7/10 days, and longer, in the trailer already. As of tomorrow morning I'm officially full-time though!

I will say that I've used several of the ideas posted over the last few months and made a few tweaks. I'm not quite happy with the arrangement I have now but I'm finding I also have been using maybe 50-75% of the storage available in the trailer (It's just me.) so perhaps I'm not going to have to be as clever at some of this stuff as I thought. I'm helped by having a large van as tow vehicle so some of the stuff others might keep inside I have in the van.

Anyway, thanks again! Looking forward to catching up here soon and perhaps I'll even throw in some of my own successes.

A reasonable question, but I think it will be okay if it moves slightly.

Overland, very nice pics of a well organized trailer. I did notice that your head "bumper" is missing over the entrance where you have installed a net. I hate to say it but, I make good use of the bumper in ours regularly.  Do the contents of the net make up for this?

Cheers

So, did you have all your cushions made elsewhere? I think that I remember you ordering custom matress(es)?

Just curious.

While technically not cubbies, I did find these little silicone pockets extremely handy on our recent family reunion trip.  They stayed in place for 14 days, nearly 3000 miles, 1 COE, 1 NP, 7 SP campgrounds and held a variety of odds and ends.

They weren’t cheap at $10 a piece on close out at Bed Bath & Beyond, so I bought one and went home to try it out.  I liked it so much that I went back and bought the other 5.  So we have 4 white ones in the cabin area and 2 grey ones in the bath.  And then I stumbled across a different brand at Kohl’s that holds a beer can and we used it for a bottle of water in the bath to rinse after brushing our teeth.

Mike, those look great. No adhesive, no suction cups.

I looked up similar items on Amazon. A bathroom mirror is labeled "Oliver." ?
