I just got back from a week in the Midwest. Basecamp, northern Missouri at Mom's house. Driving miss Daisy, we went on to Wisconsin to celebrate her birthday with her twin. I wish I had more photos. We followed the great river road ad much as practical. It's an amazing, beautiful drive. Whether the Mississippi is to your left, or your right, it's just beautiful. I can never get enough. We had a nice cloudy day here on the Oregon Coast today, so I was able to film part2 of our "Oliver Legacy Elite II - 2017" series, The Outside Storage Compartments. This also finishes up the rest of the Black Tank Cleaning movie that I started in part I. Filmed, edited, uploaded & produced all in just a couple hours this evening. We've been boondocking up here at Karen's mom's house waiting for water heater parts to get here from Oliver for a couple extra days. Jason overnighted the parts to us but I guess the delivery services in Florence,OR. have some catching up with the Jones's to accomplish because overnight was so... yesterday... :) Reed2 points

Delivery Day has come and gone. We are thrilled! Special thanks goes out to Richie, Phillip & Heather for going out of their way to make our pick up day a special one. I've taken photos that I will share as soon as I can get a decent internet connection. We love the graphic decal that Phillip did for us and our couch configuration is perfect for our needs. The tables we had are working great with it & stow away nicely in our closet when not needed..I've been busy personalizing the interior with decals, bedding & pillows, etc, while Clair's going thru the exterior stuff. Richie has been great about showing us the things that were "new" to us. Now the fun begins! Photos coming soon!1 point

Good point, Gary. We also find beauty in every region. Sherry's picture stirred good memories of the many times we've driven across Kansas on our way to and from home. Having lived in a dozen states from Hawaii to New York there's not a region we wouldn't go back to! Mike1 point

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" I have not been in a state or a Providence that I have not found places that were interesting or that we have not enjoyed. Now I do pick and choose the time of year to visit Death Valley is far more attractive to me with a Feb. superbloom that July heat wave. Now Big cities and traffic are not my thing so I will drive miles around Chicago , New York etc. we do enjoy the differences. Thanks Gary1 point

I believe The Wonder Egg ( hull #14 ) is the first deep water Oliver. We are currently located in the I'sle de la Madeleine where Bosker and I will be exploring the wonderful French Quebec culture where the waters of the Northwest Atlantic mix with the waters flowing from the Great Lakes and St Lawrence River. An amazing journey . . .1 point

Oliver did see this and I got a call from Mr Robinson at the factory. He had called the toilet manufacturing company explained what my problem was. The bolt is brass, but the washers and nut are plated. He was very concerned and asked if there was anything he could send me to repair. Let me say, I've never bought a product, had a complaint, and received an unsolicited call to resolve the problem before. Kudos to the Oliver team on this one. I'm heading to the marine store for stainless nut and washers. I wouldn't think of asking Oliver to send them to me. I bet they would.1 point

Short of setting something really hot on the counter top surface, I don't believe you could damage the fiberglass very easily. A close examination of our tops will reveal swirls and scratches due to wiping them off, but you would really have to look very closely to see them.1 point

How about a stainless steel counter top? This was my solution to the very same concern. It has turned out to be an excellent choice. http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/stainless-steel-counter-top-2/ Oooops, just realized you already saw the stainless. I don't think a wood countertop, made from the same material Oliver uses for the other areas, would hold up well at the sink. You could tile the area, but that seems heavy and might require some maintenance. The counter top area is strong and could support tile without flexing, but lifting the sink and stove that much might require a different clamping system and possibly a change in the drain. Stainless is the most durable and lowest maintenance surface I can think of and the thickness didn't affect the sink or stove.1 point

I just completed the ZEP Floor Finish / Polish treatment on our 2016 LE2. Attached are instructions that I found on a fiberglass RV forum and updated a bit. I have read that the ZEP looks streaky until the third coat, but I found that the first coat looked pretty good. This treatment is highly recommended for bringing oxidized gel coat back to life and protecting it from the sun. If anyone else is using ZEP on their Ollie, I would like to hear about your experience. Scotty Instructions-for-Waxing-with-ZEP.doc1 point

Since the forecast was warm and humid this weekend, we headed back to Mount Pisgah Campground NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get out of the heat. Had the pleasure to meet another forum member. Hiked to Crabtree Falls NC close to BRP, too! Mr. Trumpetguy: Crabtree Falls NC close to BRP:1 point
