Thank you Bill. The history of "Clever Beast" goes back to Clair's great aunt, Myrtle Reed, a romantic novelist in the late 1890's & early 1900's. She also wrote cookbooks and a children's book titled "The Book of Clever Beasts" which had stories about various animals. About 12 years ago, we decided to use "Clever Beast" for our dog kennel....so it seemed fitting to use it now. The "Clever Beast" could be either Emma, a tribute to our past dogs (Casey, Clipper, & Chloe) or our Oliver, don't you think?2 points

Guess I am just used to anode rods, heating elements, and propane and comfortable being able to get parts for the standard if needed. I would be concerned who could work on a Truma if it failed. Once the standard is warmed up water is there just as fast. We have never ran out of hot water and unless you are hooked up to full hook ups, showers are limited time and water anyway. If you are hooked to electric you can run on both propane and electric at the same time for fast recovery or run on the campgrounds electric for free. Like Sherry said its all in how you camp. That's why they are listed as options I guess. Just my opinion which is what the OP asked for.2 points

... preferably lithium iron phosphate chemistry like the Viking one sold by Harbor Freight https://t.harborfreight.com/lithium-ion-jump-starter-and-power-pack-62749.html https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_iron_phosphate_battery So far I haven't been able to find a single other brand that uses this safe and stable technology. I will not store a large lithium ion battery pack long term in either Mouse or my Cruiser. The fire and explosion risk bothers me too much. I may get the HF one and pay for an extended warranty, since the factory one is just 90 days. I need to be able to jump the 5.7 V8 in my truck. There is so much conflicting info, wild and absurd claims, and so many carbon copy clones of these jumpers, that I am just getting confused. Comments? Thanks, John Davies Spokane WA1 point

Angela, You can add us those that didn't receive pictures during our build but it was very easy to get status updates whenever we wanted them. I think that they have become so busy that its harder to get them now.1 point

What does Emma think? I like the simplicity of your drawing and it does make one think - is the clever beast the dog or the Oliver? Bill1 point

Free2 - I was one of the "lucky" ones that did get pictures during the build of Twist. Anita really did a great job and we even caught a potential problem during the build prior to it becoming a real issue due to these pictures. However, I fully understand that Oliver has more than doubled production and sales since Twist was a mere gleam in my eye. I'd call Kelly Robinson in sales and ask if there is anything that you can do to make this happen. Good luck! Bill1 point

We're were also told that picture updates were something that happened. We had to call to get any updates, and we are not sure how accurate they actually were, we never got a call from them. Never any pictures. We were anxious and were ready to pick up as soon as the trailer was done. We called for a status report, and was told two to three weeks. It was in the plant and safe from an impending storm. A customer there picking up theirs saw ours sitting outside. They took a picture and sent it to us. It was done, just waiting for graphics. And, at the time, the sales staff was in the plant as the showroom/sales office was being remodeled. So the best bet to get progress reports is to find out who is picking up, or doing a tour...1 point

After several years of fighting the yellowing of the plastic frame by wiping it with acetone, I opted to have a replacement window installed. Edwin makes a door window with a white metal frame. It also has the feature of being able to slide the bottom half of the window up for ventillation, which comes in very handy. http://www.easyrvwindows.com/order-edwin.asp1 point

I requested baby pictures many times and never received one. They were pretty busy at the time, so I kind of understand, but it would be a nice PR gesture to send one or two when the hull gets attached to the frame.... Also, the sales staff relocated from the factory to a new office a mile away, so it is harder for them to just drop by the production line. John Davies Spokane WA1 point

When I went to the factory I was also debating which way to go and the tour operator whom I can't remember his name without even asking stated that one of the few items that he highly recommended was to go with the insta hot. The ease of use plus the instant hot water really made sense. I agree with Reed, at his point in my life I don't buy things with a payback time. I buy for convenience and ease of use. I might not live long enough to get the payback time so I just enjoy things when I can!1 point
