  1. It's time for me to take another online safe driving class to continue our insurance discount. In Florida, Paul and I save over $100 a year by taking a safe driving course online every 3 years. With AARP $20 member, 24 nonmembers, sometimes offer specials for the self-paced, online class. Some places offer classroom style classes if you're so inclined. Paul took the online class with some other company this year. I'll stick with the AARP course. Its actually interesting, reminds you of safety rules, and gives some pointers.. I didn't mind the time, and feel I gained a little something above the insurance discount. 50+ age in many states. Check yours. We received our discount almost immediately after completing the course three years ago. https://www.aarp.org/auto/driver-safety/

  2. My 2017 hull #208 actually has two fans. One that was installed by Oliver just behind the upper air vent grill, and I guess the Dometic installed fan buried somewhere on the back of the refrigerator. The Oliver installed fan has a switch on the “master” switch panel near the entry door. The other fan has no switch. I was told that somewhere around the time we bought our LEII the Dometic refrigerators started coming from the factory with the fan already installed. I guess that around this time as well Oliver stopped adding the other fan. My trailer must have been in this transition so I got both fans.

  3. Steve, I offered the soldering iron fix but nooo you had to do it your way. I could mostly guarantee that would have worked. I also had a wire tie tourniquet worked out, again you didn’t want to try that either. What can I say.

  5. One thing I would try on your kits...the scissors. Some of the scissors I have seen will not cut the tape. A good pair of bandage scissors are cheap. Even Harbor Freight has a pair of EMT scissors for $1. The next thing I would, and do, carry would be a roll of 'Kling'. It is a non adhesive wrap that will secure a gauze pad or wet bandage in an emergency. It would also hold a splint or act as an ace bandage...

  7. https://www.huskytow.com/towing-calculator/ Here is a very detailed towing calculator. You'll need all the Ram specs. That 3.0 diesel was a great motor, surprised it's gone for '19. Hope the link helps.

  8. Jason responded and said they do not use Gaskets on the new Trailers'' as you guys noted. Also he said some people were removing the Gaskets and using silicone sealant . So i guess thats the Fix. I will try that Capt. Tollye's stuff first. Thanks for the info''................Yukon

  9. Great info! Never heard of a tooth repair kit or blood stop. Remember to have a kit for your furry companions too. http://m.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/pet_first_aid_kit.html

  11. My fan is not there Reed... the only thing in that area is the top of the coils. I cannot see the fan anywhere, top or bottom. It screeches, so I know when it runs.... why would anyone think that putting it in a completely inaccessible location would be acceptable? If I don’t get an answer here in a few days I will file a service request. My suspicion is that it is mounted in the area circled. I am guessing by the sound, because it is completely buried. 12. If they have changed the gaskets, that's a good thing ? They started putting the new lights on the 2017's and the gaskets were leaking then. I looked at the pics of the new 2019's and it still has the same lights. It takes a few months to a year for it to start but being that this has been a known issue, you can call Jason and ask if itsi been fixed. Captain Tollye's is a quick easy fix either way and even though the new gaskets leaked some, the real big black streaks from the old lights and their gaskets is long gone. 13. Yukon - While on a factory tour recently I noticed that there are "new" lights being installed that do not have this black gasket visible like the ones on my hull #117. I'm guessing that this gets rid of the "streaking problem" once and for all. I do not know when the factory started installing these. With regards to the "old style" that have the black gaskets - mine have done very well since I applied the sealant that Oliver gave for this purpose at the 2017 Owner's Rally. And, since I've not heard complaints about it from those folks that used Captain Tolly's I have to assume that it has worked for them as well. Bill

  14. Hig - Thanks for the compliment to those of us who own Olivers. Not only is the general construction very boat-like but many of the components on Olivers are also derived from the boating industry. You should feel right at home - both here and in an Oliver. Bill

  15. Hello all, I created a access port for the fresh water drain valve. The reason behind this is so you dont have to take your bed apart each time to gain access to the drain valve. I simple lay down on the floor and can reach the valve. This mod isnt for everyone specially those that have a issue laying the on the floor to reach it but I find it much easier to use then having to take my king bed up each time. In another post today I will show you the perfect mattress setup for the king floor plan. At least the best mattress set I have found for it so far. I purchased a Five Oceans Marine white screw in deck plate off Amazon. I went with the 5" Deck plate for 10.99 and with Prime its free shipping. The location I chose was just above the drain valve and even with the vent and I think it turned out well. I did this mode using a metal cutting blade in my jig saw. I chose the metal blade for smaller teeth. Have your wife or friend use a spray bottle on mist setting and spray it while you are cutting it with a towel on the floor it will collect all the fiberglass dust. Be smart and wear a mask anyway. Also tape the entire area. I used painters tape and over taped. This will keep the fiberglass from having issues cracking and also keep your jib from busting or scraping up the inside. There are lots of youtube videos on doing deck plates in boats. Treat it the same as those videos and things will be fine. UPDATE Oddly enough for some reason I am unable to reply to my own post. So I will answer some questions. My Hull# is 087. Its a 2015. I had 0 access to that without going through the top which ment taking apart my bed. I have made my bed a permanent or semi permanent down bed with a pair of Ghost bed mattresses. At any rate with the port I am actually able to access the fresh water drain. My Ollie has a on demand hot water heater as well so that is not as big a issue.

  16. Wow, but a new bumper sticker is truly unnecessary. Our forum is our own, and not moderated by the factory, first of all. Then.. Any forum is an accumulation of participants' experience and/ or opinion. A number of people here have given their experience and opinions. Take it for wiw. Do your own research. All of us did.... We all hope you enjoy your new trailer. Not trying to be snippy. Just trying to figure out what information you want.... All we have to offer is what has worked for us... Thanks, and good luck, Just an fyi, in the sticky world, a couple dealers tried to convince us in 2007 that we could tow a midsize fifth wheel with my little Silverado 1500. We knew then and now that it would have been at the least a problem At worst, a disaster. Here, at the very least, you'll get real world experience from owners. I have a legacy 1, so I can't help, except to say, read and learn. Truth is, most of us are a bit on the senior side of the line, and will steer you to a more conservative solution... Happy travels, Sherry

  17. OK, enough. We are getting a bit too close to that line of non-tolerance. Once again, let's all join hands around the campfire and sing a rousing chorus of Kumbaya. Bill

  18. RogerS: Any information you glean from the forum is worth exactly what you paid for it. I have yet to find any post asking you for research, yet plenty exist, posting their personal experiences with towing and travel trailers. I'll take experience over blowhard salesmen, most, who don't know what they're selling, nor care. Personally I'm tired of seeing your posts, but I digress. Happily ignorant in TN.

  19. I hope that you can eventually reopen the lines of communication with your children. It may be a long and problematic road, but I hope you can find a path. I'm a mom. My worst camping days are when i can't get even a text to and from my daughter. I feel hollow, without knowing she is ok.
