  3. I use a small compressor by Senco found at lowes. It’s small lightweight has a 1gal tank nice carry handle. I think it has 150psi max pressure don’t quote me on that. It’s used for nail guns works great for tire inflation. It will run to keep up with filling tires with low pressure but does the job. Cost around $150. There are many options out there for compressors small also look at off road portable they also have compressed air tanks that hold 3500 psi but getting them refill is a pain. Lot of options good luck. I looked it up its 125psi max and now at Home Depot for $129

  5. When I remove the Andersen triangle from the hitch I simply move it back a couple of inches to where the safety cables attach and let it sit there. The weight of the chains keep it secure and the chains are off the ground. You don’t need to add any hardware and I’ve never had it fall off. I’ll try to get a better picture tomorrow when we go get our trailer (heading to South Padre Island for a week). Mike

  7. I did pretty much the same thing in our Casita with a Memory foam mattress from Walmart. We have the twin setup in our Casita and the memory form works great, I just purchased a queen 4" mattress and cut it into two haves which made them 30" each and them trimmed the ends so the rounded corners would fit the ends of the trailer. Since these mattress are pretty much new I will be using them in our new Oliver, I will have to shorten the mattress a couple of inches as the Casita bed is 80" long and the Oliver is 75" long. We did put these mattresses on top of the factory cushions and the results were great sleeping and they had the correct firmness that we both liked. Ordering the correct firmness can be guess work, but we made the correct choice on the first order. For the $140.00 we spent on this mattress we thought we got a great deal and didn't have to spend the $1500.00 for the Oliver mattresses. trainman

  8. Vector, The material is 14 gauge, 304 stainless . This is a very corrosion resistant material and the 14 gauge is thick enough to prevent denting. It has worked out very well and can be used for preparing food without a cutting board if you wish. It is also much less likely to have any problem related to heat from hot pans. The surface is far more durable than fiberglass or faux granite. I think Oliver should have a stainless option. Everybody that looks at my trailer likes it. These counter tops could be easily produced and I see it as far more practical then what is being offered. To make your own, stainless pieces like this can be had at scrap yards for a low, per pound price. Then simply get it sheered and bent at a sheet metal shop. The cut-outs are easily done with a 4 1/2" grinder. If you notice where mine is screwed down, I was able to miss any obstructions in the counter framing and reach in to install nuts. It is glued down with stripes of silicone about 2" apart everywhere under it, and then clamped until set. The thickness is so little that it does not affect anything else. I have now added a side-splash next to the stove, made of Corian that prevents splashing hot stuff onto someone sitting next to the stove. I also changed the faucet. This has been one of the best modifications to the trailer. I'm now finishing up modifying the microwave cabinet. It now has a smaller microwave, with a drop down door that acts as more counter space and there is a wine rack and utensil storage in the cabinet with the microwave. This is much more secure while traveling and adds a lot of practical storage. Imagine the larger kitchen utensils and wine bottles completely contained where they can never fly around or break. And where the microwave door can never open, so it can be used to store bread or other light items while traveling. The drop down door is a good place to make sandwiches or set a dish rack while doing dishes. My original microwave tried to escape twice before I took action and re-designed the whole cabinet.

  9. Just registered for my wife and me. We didn't think we could make it, but we decided to take our spring trip a few weeks earlier this year which should get us back just in time to make the rally. We're really looking forward to our first rally as actual Ollie owners.

  10. I had heard that but did not want to spread rumors. The plaques are very nice 3 color plaques and that's nice of Oliver to do. I also heard they will mail them to Oliver owners that do not attend the rally.

  11. The VIN is generated and applied to your trailer when it is 100% finished and has been weighed. They also install the VIN sticker on the tongue at that date with the empty weight and other info. Until then, it would only be a guess. John Davies Spokane WA

  12. Up until the end of the 2018 model run the hull number was the last 3 of the VIN. Beginning with the 2019 models they had to renumber the VIN numbers and the last four would begin at 0001. In order to continue the continuity of production numbers from the beginning I heard they will be applying a number plaque maybe on the inside of the closet door or somewhere.

  13. Nan, going to put my two cents in. I am a woman in my mid 60's. The past two years I towed a 1200 pound modified tear drop. About three weeks ago I took possession of my Elite. I have towed the Elite to the DMV for inspection, parked it in an RV lot after 6 inches of snow has fallen, and most recently moved it into indoor storage. The first week I had it I took it over to a church parking lot (during the day mid-week ) and practiced backing it up, pulling it around, parking it between parking lines, and took if off the Anderson Sway bar for about an hour. Once you get the confidence it is not that hard! Just be patient, take it slow, and don't be intimidated! If you have a friend that has some time and can go with you to help you during this learning curve, that will also help you get used to towing.

  14. My trailer backup strategy is simple - back extremely slow and check mirrors often. That way, if something goes wrong, damage is likely to be minimal. Some like to back quick and forceful, I guess as a demonstration of skill and confidence. Not me, even though my wife is sometimes embarrassed by my turtle pace, and traffic must wait for me to complete maneuvers, this is how I roll.

  15. We took possession of our Ollie this week. We spent two nights camping locally (Natchez Trace) which turned out to be a great idea as it gave us time to field test all of the systems and get comfortable. We are now home and planning the maiden voyage - a three week loop thru south Florida. Happy Campers with big plans - looking at her makes us want to leave home.

  16. I detailed “Mouse” a while back and did not feel the need to polish first. I pressure washed and then hand washed with a strong concentration of Dawn, to strip off any previous wax, wiped down with 3M Adhesive Cleaner (bugs, sap and tar) and then applied Rejex. It looked stunning and the finish is holding up very well. I have received compliments about the gelcoat by boat owners who know what to look for. Looking down the side in good light shows no ripples, dips, dull, or uneven areas, just a smooth even glossy surface. One person commented, “Oliver sure knows how do fiberglass!” I agree. They have had decades of practice building high end bathroom tubs and enclosures, and that experience is evident in their trailers. While I continue to have reservations about how certain parts of the trailers are put together, the shell and frame are not in that category. I suspect that the final buffing at the factory is a little variable depending who does it, but I certainly have zero complaints about my trailer. It makes me smile every time I see it. 17. With Bill's lead, I used a piece of 3/4" flat steel and bend it into "Z" shape. Drilled a 3/8" hole to use the existing front jack bolt. Powder coated the hook and lined it with Velcro as a wear guard. Used stainless steel lock nut with rubber washer between nut and steel. Holds the Anderson wing and chains off the ground.

  19. Try the blog now. There was some type of re certify I had to do,. Bed roll is whatever is on the bed when we wake up. My wife sewed a fitted sheet for the bottom. I f I have a sheet plus blanket I undo the corners at the head and with pillow inside just roll it up. Low tech and cheap but it works. At night I just reverse the roll...wrap the corners and go to sleep. Bed by night, sofa by day.
